The kva of that Elepaq generator is exaggerated. The real kva is 2.5kva. From experience, I will rather recommend that you purchase Sumec Firman AC Master generator. It's 4.5kva max. output and is well suited especially to carry 2HP Split unit air conditioner and can do more for Inverter air conditioners as well as other home appliances comfortably. It pays to buy a durable product such as Sumec Furman generator. See picture below:
how long have you been using this Ac master? Any notable issues

How often do you change your oil, and what's the last time you changed the oil? What's the frequency of the gen when it's on? You can check the VTF display for the frequency. Using a toaster with all those load is too stressful for your gen. A 2 slice toaster alone is around 1000W.
Thanks so much sir, my changing of oil is when it's gets dark, because i don't use regularly and i really don't know the frequency but will check, what re the signs am to look out for. Did not even know that was a frequency. How does the frequency help me for the gen.

The push to start button can be replaced by a good technician. Better still go to any thermocool store around you and tell them the fault, am sure their experienced engineers would no what to do about the loud noise and drop in current. Pls avoid those inexperience "i pass my neighbour" gen repairers, good luck sir...
Thank you so much. Appreciate this reply

If the frequency is too high it means the gen will run at a higher speed and also make more noise and consume more fuel, check and ensure its not above 52.5HZ. There's a very tiny round button just below the display, press it to change its display between Voltage, frequency and time.
You shouldn't wait for the oil to be dark before changing it, that's one useful advantage of the VTF display, the total time you have used the generator is displayed there just like car mileage. I will advise you change oil after every 60 hours of use. If the time displayed as at when you are changing the oil is say 276.8, it means you should change the oil again when it's displaying 336.8 ( that's 276.2+60), I hope you understand this long epistle?
Note : the display is set at voltage by default, should be 230.

You people re really the best on this platform, really ignorance is a disease truly, omo i am not even aware of any of this, then i did not notice any button below, but i really appreciate this your advice, will check it very well by morning, i actually stopped using the gen, i want to get the gen to a thermocool office to get the push to start button fixed before i start usage again, just the time to take it there that is the problem but i will. Thanks again man and i really appreciate and understand all your teaching, see me that was looking at that digital display as fancy oh. Can't wait to get home and check for that button

If it is just fridge, TV, standing fan and bulbs as you stated up there, Thermocool TEC Bobo 2.5kva would do just fine. I am using it currently and it's a great gen to have, you can as well get TEC Major (the blue version of Bobo 2.5kva). The downside is they are quite expensive now, due to current dollar rate.. Just visit any thermocool store to see them and current prices...

TEC Major is 3.5kva, the bobo equivalent is TEC Captain.

Please I'm using tec captain 2kw (2.2kva). Someone changed the tighteness of the screw near the carburetor to make the gen to carry a 1hp pump. As it was doing like it wanted to off when they connected the pump.

My questions:
1. How do i reset the tightness of the screw to how it was? Do i keep turning it anticlockwise till it's tight? I noticed he turned it about 21 times clockwise.

2. I believe 2kva gen shouldn't carry 1hp load, am i correct?

Thanks

Edit: I've confirmed that the gen shouldn't carry 1hp pump. Need answer for how to reset the screw near the carburettor

Yes but only if the it has a minimum of 13hp engine. You should rather get at least a 9 to 10kva Gen to comfortably power your 7hp equipment....

Turning the screw clockwise should increase the firing speed if am not mistaken, you said he turned it anticlockwise to make it power the 1hp pump, anticlockwise should have reduced the firing speed and not increase it as you stated. My Oga Gptech should pls help clarify this....

First press the button just underneath the VTF display so that you that it displays frequency. Turn the screw until the frequency reads between 50-52Hz.

The type of equipment matters, equipment with pumps and compressors normally need around 3 times their rated power to start, if that's the case here you'll need a gen of around 16kva.

Hello everyone!

Please, I'm looking to get a smaller gen and I'm looking between the TEC Junior and the Sumec Firman 1990ES.
Which would you recommend going for between these two? Thank you.

And unrelated, but does anyone know the average wattage of an inverter AC? I don't expect the above Gens to carry it, it's just another question. smiley

Go for the TEC junior. For the wattage of inverter Ac, the power is measured in horse power over here. The smallest I have seen is 1Hp. 1Hp is approximately 746 watts. If you need a generator to power a 1Hp Ac, you'll need around 3 times the power to avoid issues tomorrow that's around 2200W.

3 times the power to start, does this mean TEC bobo cannot power a 1hp AC (not the inverter type) and maybe TV, standing fans and energy saving bulb all at the same time? It is stated on the gen that it can power 1hp AC.....
