without an enterprenures there wouldn't be any employee but without employee would there be an enterprenure....answer is no ...the write up is based on my oberservation not some theory or acedemic exercise......the must successful entrepreneurs cannot be compared to the most successful employee....can you compare jim ovia to the m.d of zenith .....

That doesn't negate the fact that it is not for everyone, leadership is no for everyone.

Don't do things because others are doing it, do what suits your temperament.

Entrepreneurship is for 5% of the population, less than 10% of enterpreneurs will make succeess of their businesses

That is where values and mindset comes in.

Whether you are an employee or enterpreneur

Live below your means, dare to be different, have an eye for identifying Investment opportunities, make friends with forward looking and thinking people, use your head when it comes to those scamming others in God's name, understand risk management, with this we will be better than 95% of the population

Hello House,

I heard CBN now allows cash deposits to be transfered out of the account. Please anybody confirm this.

Thanks.

For every 10 year observation of an entrepreneur doing better than an employee, there are more observations of employees doing better than entrepreneurs.

If we use observations of real landlords (not audio landlords), then employees are doing better. Most problematic tenants are entrepreneurs!

Not true.
Anyone can owe rent.
Even persons on regular incomes from salaried employment owe rent too.

Sometimes, loyalty is more important than qualification. Working closely with loyal employees with little qualifications is far more profitable than working with highly qualified employees with zero loyalty to their boss or organisation.

Because there is something called specialization. We do what we are good at and get paid top money if we are good at it. The same way some people like entrepreneurship, is how some enjoy the jobs they get paid for. Why should they leave these jobs that pay them well to go and do business?

Many entrepreneurs are forced into it because they couldn’t find top paying jobs. Many of them will leave their business ventures without thinking twice if they are offered correct jobs at banks or oil companies.

Also speaking from experience. All that stuff about people who have irregular incomes in Nigeria being more likely to owe rent is not factual.

And the lack of fertile ground.
Beyond the issues of raising capital, Nigeria presents more conditions to favour failure than to encourage success.

@Ahib, just leave your observation or story as "Food for Thoughts".
The argument of entrepreneur vs employee is a very difficult argument to have any day.
Just leave it as a story that you saw play before your eyes within a period of 10 years and not as an argument for or against.

Capital flight is one of the biggest problems facing our local currency, BDC traders are only a small fraction of the problem.

If you know the amount of dollars Nigerians (mainly politicians) are transferring out of the country on daily basis, you will know it is a great miracle we still have an economy and a country called Nigeria.

ahiboilandgas:
the variance is too wide all expert has cautioned against it ......BDC people are having a field day with unjustifiable incomes ....20000 usd allocated to 5000 BDC everweek @410 ...they refuse to sell at an agreed margin @ 420 they sell at market determine rates of 490 ....so the get regulated usd from cbn and sell unregulated at 490 ...margin of 80 x 20000 usd weekly =1.6 ×4=7.2m monthly with a capital of 8.2m naira .....this unproductive ways of becoming rich in Nigeria .....a single person can own 5 bdc

Well said.
The only reason why Nigeria has not yet collapsed is that the politicians are still sticking around to milk it dry of every last drop.

Very true.
Apart from buying and selling, true entrepreneurs as you hear about in other climes are few and far between these days.

Good day ladies and gentlemen. Please is anyone here afraid of investing into agriculture? I think the best place to invest your money right now in Nigeria is agriculture. Due to food inflation going on Everytime now in Nigeria, I think it's safe to say agricultural investment is one of the best investment right now in Nigeria.
Now I have access to about 100 hectares of farm land in Benue state. It's in a safe community free from Fulani herdsmen issues and community crisis's.
So I'm hoping if anyone here is interested in investing into agriculture, can work with me in cultivating cassava and sesame seed in the land. You can fully fund the whole project if you want, all I have to do is make sure the land is available and also security is available. Workers and everything needed in the farm can be provided by me. My gain will just be 30% of the total profit made from the project. Please if interested you can asked me for more explanation and cost of starting everything thank you very much.

You see the problem with insecurity. Now you want investors to invest in agriculture in a state where the governor is not even safe in his own farm.

It’s not so o. The footballer is an employee of the club. The club pays his weekly wages and then the club makes all the money received from broadcasting the football to millions across the world.

The same way Access Bank or Shell pays its staff and then makes the money from selling their products.

Sir ever since you have hearing about crisis's in Benue state, have you ever heard the name Otukpo being attacked by Fulani herdsmen or any issues as such? I'm just looking for investors because I don't have the fund to do it that's why I came here sir. If you want to invest in such things, it's better you get down there yourself and see things with your eyes sir. All these attacks you hear of are just around the boundaries. I'm guaranting you 90% safty. The remaining 10% is because this is Nigeria.

It is a spiritual thing, don't equate your situation and reality with others.

Do what you love doing as a career and money won't be your motivating factor

I guess you are still working for money, some are working doing what they love doing.

When I was at UNILAG, Prof Green Nwankwo was the chairman of Union Bank and many companies in corporate Nigeria, but he was still lecturing students at the Faculty of business administration.

I have an uncle who left his job as an Investment Bankers at NAL Merchant bank about 40 years ago to pick up a lecturing job for 15% of his initial pay
