afroxyz: Obviously not. But a football club is not structured the same way as a bank is. Just like in film making - some players are deemed more bankable than others, just the same way some actors get bigger paydays than others . Another school of thought has it that the players are to be classed as its assets, and we all know assets have different values. 1 Like |

QuinModah: They did after playing for many years as employees of clubs. Why did they go and play for clubs when they could have started their own clubs?. Messi is still playing for Barca as an employee even though he can own a club. 3 Likes |

afroxyz: In many organizations, some employees get more in bonuses because of the added value they bring. Two employees can be doing the same job and one is paid higher. This happens all the time. Not just football or sports. 6 Likes |

afroxyz: Even salaries. Trust me there are employees that make more than their peers in large organizations. Salaries are confidential. People get very disappointed when they find these things out. That’s why they are rarely discussed in certain organizations where employees are allowed to negotiate their salaries. Most management and executive salaries are highly negotiated. 2 Likes |

afroxyz: Different contracts for different types of employees. Even coaches, directors, etc have their contracts and termination is stated there. Same as employment contracts for regular/contract staff of companies. They all have termination clauses that determine how the employees can ‘leave’. |

Na only for civil service everybody for the same scale de always get the same salary. In many private organizations, if you stay too long, those employed after you will negotiate a higher salary than you and you won't know until one person slips up one day and spills the information. I am sure that many people who are only used to bank and Chinese company type of contract staff do not know that it is possible for contract staff to earn more than some employees. 7 Likes |

It happens a lot in many corporate organizations. Most salaries are dependet on what a person brings to the table, if he knows his self worth and his negotiating power during the interview. As a matter of fact, you can employ 2 individuals for the same position on the same day and yet have different salaries depending on what both parties negotiated during the salary stage of the interview. afroxyz: 3 Likes |
