Yes man. I remember all too well. But you were not alone. So many of us didn't like this move. Infact none of us did at first. Also some of us only looked at the few positives.

I, too didn't like the move as I initially saw it as a stepdown but when I finally read about why he has to leave Udinese, I came to accept the move and hoped it turns into one that gets Ekong into the EPL. So far, with six games to go for Watford sitting comfortably in second place, It definitely looks like it's a move that will pay off in huge proportions.

Watford be coming back to the epl

The gamble really worked

Nerdy Remember I didn’t like his move to watford at first

But it seems it will finally pay off

Yeah, too quiet and reserved. He's the only one that I can't point out anyone he rolls with.

He probably rolls with Ekong..since they are both Dutch..He might just be the introvert type..

Perhaps oga smartsmith would provide an insight to that...

The move was similar to Etebo to Stoke city, hence the doubts..

We thank God that it's eventually paying off..

When the AFCON starts, we might probably present the best star studded squad after Senegal and Morocco... Chriskels ivorian in-laws got nothing on us grin

Lol... Yes. I already posted that earlier.

28 goals in all comps for our big man.

26 goals in the league alone from 31 games (29 starts). Onuachu will smash the 30goals mark I believe. Two games to go before they enter the Championship Round to determine the League Champs.

Time will tell on that as there will transfer businesses in and out of the club too. For now, I hope they can bag that promotion.

Wow

The 30 goals should be at worst

The championship round goals will be added to the league goals right ?

Why did he have to leave udinese ?

Watford hardly loose this days ,they are now better than Swansea and brentford ,boro is tough that’s why they got a draw

Ekong is not a top defender but he is not a division 2 player ,he is good enough for mid table teams in Europe top leagues

Well, they should add it up in the end. But I think they usually separate the ones scored during the regular 34-game-season from the ones scored during the 6-games Championship Round.
All in all, Genk are in the Championship Round slot so Onuachu will look to add to his regular season count when the Championship Round begins.

Onuachu has also scored in three consecutive games for club and country now. Taking his International break form to Belgium where he is already in such lethal form. Lad is on true fire.

The Udinese coach didn't rate him anymore and also gave his shirt number (5) to another guy who was even on loan there himself while Ekong was still around. Mehn that was part of the final straw I think.
The Pozzo family wanted EKONG to stay but the coach said Ekong was not good and that he is limited tactically so was no longer part of his plans.

So the deal to Watford was worked out. As you already know, Watford is also owned by the Pozzo family.

And you are right. Ekong is not world class. He is not really a top defender. But he is a very decent defender good enough for top flight football within the Top 5 leagues.

Sometimes, making a step-down with a view to stepping up do work out.
We see it with SADIQ UMAR and now we are seeing it with Ekong at Watford. That's football. Some things aren't scripted.

Would be really a sweet end to the season to see Our National team's Vice Captain gaining promotion to the EPL.

Don't mind Chriskels. I go wait for am for Afcon. Na we go break him Ivorian relatives' heart if dem dare cross our path. grin
As for Senegal, o boy, those ones dey highly strong with great depth. Country of Chris' concubines dem. Would surely be one of the favs for the title but time will tell. wink

I like this clip. A player like this should be encouraged & promoted in the National team. If i were the coach, i have just found a new attacking style in midfield. This guy will take the ball down to the opponent box with amazing mazy pace.

He plays exactly like Ekene Ezenwa of the Champions League winning Enyimba squad. Beautiful player, strong, fast, skilful but needs some finishing.

That's 6 goals and 10 assists in 38 league games (32 starts) for the young attacking Midfield pearl.

Ejaria scored last Friday for Reading. Three days later, Olise scores his own. Lol.

Lovely from our prospective Eagles at Reading. Just lovely. cool

Well said bro!!! He needs finishing of course. I also pray he doesn't go the way of Uzoenyi and Sunday MBA whi promised so much and grossly underachieved outside 9ja. Of recent, only Etebo and to some degree Nwobodo have held their own outside 9ja. Who remembers one striker from Warri Wolves back then, he was quite good played WAFU with Musa but his Europe journey didn't work out.

Later today, in the La Liga Smartbank... It would be Ramon Azeez for FC Cartegena vs Kelechi Nwakali for Alcocorn.

Another game to keep an eye on. wink

At the same time though, in the EPL, Everton Will be in action against Crystal Palace. Iwobi likely to feature from the start or off the bench.

Both these games kick off in about 1 hour and 13 mins from now.

Nope. First and second is automatic promotion to the EPL.

It is Third to Sixth that will go into a playoffs to determine the third and final promoted team.
