Please did you fill another DS-160 form for the second interview

Yes, I did.
1. I needed to change program start date
2. Change contact person in my school
3. Show I had been denied visa before, and why.

Pls I need help guys. I got an admission offer(MSC in Civil Eng) to a US school and was given 40% tuition scholarship for Fall2021. My major issue is how to get a sponsor letter. How does it look like and what are the contents. I have gotten a sponsor already but I need to support the account statement with a sponsor letter. Meanwhile, they said I need to show a proof of funds of 32k. Tuition alone is 17k. Please I would really appreciate any help I could get. They said once I upload these documents, my I-20 form will be sent to me.

Congratulations Boss. And thanks for sharing. In your experience would you say the interview process is less intense at Abuja compared to Lagos?

Thank you.

In all fairness, I can say the mode of questioning the Abuja VO gave was more reasonable than that I got in Lagos. All his questions were sensible to the letter. So, that endears me to the consulate. Notwithstanding, we must know that I only had encounter with one person from each station. So, to make a judgement about the two consulate will be premature. But if you let me, I'll say, Abuja is bae!

Student visa applicants were not even many judging by the first 3 pages of attendees I saw today. I think I could see one F1 category in each page. That's really small amount.

Admission package has been mailed to my address. please does anyone have idea how much they offer for scholarships and assistantships? And what is the prospect of getting a job after graduation is the school prestigious? Sorry for this questions, I have other schools admission that haven't given me any assistantship until July and I don't want to lose on both sides.

Same here bro, they asked for my financial statement. I contacted the MBA director on Assistantship and she told me I should apply and that early application closes by March 15.
pebes:
Please what do you mean by you got assistantship and you don't know if it automatic.
I applied but I am at the SEND YOUR FINANCIAL STATEMENT FOR I-20 PHASE .
To my knowledge of WIU, you apply for assistantship Separately it doesn't come with admission offer
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 16 by homodele: 9:47am On Apr 07, 2021
Really? When I called a representative of the school she said it best I apply for the assistantship after I have been given admission. I wasn't aware we could apply for the assistantship even before receiving an admission.

I applied March 1st during their free application. 2 weeks ago they asked for my proof of funding which I sent to them immediately and yesterday I got my admission letter and i20 sent to my email. The department also asked me to fill assistantship form. What I don't understand is will they adjust the i20 when I get the assistantships offer?

If you are awarded the assistantship position, The school will send a revised i-20 docs that will reflect the award of graduate assistantship position or whatever is awarded to you. If they don't do that, then you have to send an email requesting it for your own good.

bro, when I was sending an enquiry mail, I first sent to the international admission officer. He then advised me on how to go about many things, and whenever he responded, he at most times copy the persons in charge of whatever I was requesting for e.g app fee waiver, GMAT waiver and Assistantship.

Just hoping to get admitted sha.

Hello house. Is anyone going to Axxx University this fall? If yes, have you received your I-20 form?

Also, if you attended Axxx University in the past or currently enrolled, can I reach you?

Thanks in advance.

@FutureSenator, thank you so much for your contribution. God bless

FutureSenator:

My advice to peeps is - always go from specific to general. The interview time is short and you might not have time to say everything you want to say. For example, I will change this:

i choose the university of michigan because 1. According to the princeton review the university of michigan dearborn has emerged as the best business school for 2021, the 12th consecutive year. Not just that the school is well known for its research opportunities with renowned professors i will be priviledged to work with, going through the faculty webpage i discovered an ongoing research with professor Ted London on the evaluation of international monetary fund loan policy on developing economy a case study of African and Asian Economy. The university of michigan also offered me an admission into business administration and management with a minor in international business coupled with courses tailored towards my career aspiration.

I will also change this:

well the united state of america remains the number one country in the world when it comes to innovation, technology and most especially business. Studying in the US will expose me to research opportunities which can not be achieved here in Nigeria. It will also help increase my chances of joining reputable financial organization in Nigeria when i return to pursue my career as an economist analyst.

Also, don't badmouth Nigeria because you want to study in US. You probably have heard that you don't say bad things about your old employer during interview. If Nigeria did not give you BS, how will you apply for MS?

YOu probably don't want to say the deleted phrase below:

VO - why not Nigeria your country
ME- [s]having had my undergraduate studies here in Nigeria, i can categorically say that the nigeria school curiculum focuses more on the theorectical aspect of learning and does not offer hands on research opportunities that give detailed knowledge on my preffered course. [/s] Studying in a developed country like the US is not just going to give me the classroom knowlege that i need but also world business research experience in form of field work that is imperative to the course of my study.

Hello guys. Got my visa approved today at the Abuja consulate.
2nd time attempt. Again, first to be interviewed.

Here's my my transcript:

VO: Good morning (I replied)
VO: have you ever been to the US before?
Me: No. Not to the US.
VO: OK. How about any other country?
Me: Yes.
VO: Where?
Me: China. (He didn't hear, and I had to repeat that)
VO: for how long were you there?
Me: 2 years (he said oh, cool)
VO: what did you go for?
Me: I went there for my Master's program.
VO: Ok.
*The conversation above took place under the first one minute or so, even before taking my biometrics*

VO: ok, please place your fingers for capturing. (I did)
VO: pass me your passport and documents. (He perused my i20 and typed at length. At a point he nodded his head as though in agreement with something. That sent a relaxing feel across my mind. I was like, this man is getting convinced I'm worthy o. lol

VO: What's your highest qualification?
Me: Master's degree
VO: In what?
Me: Mechanical Engineering.
VO: what's your specific area in mechanical engineering during your MS?
Me: Electrochemical Corrosion (At this point, I was uneasy because my PhD research will not be exactly in this area any longer, and I will have to explain why it so. I wasn't really happy at this point. Thanks I have my nose mask on, cos my smile went away momentarily. lol)

VO: Ok, I see you have assistantship. How much of your tuition does it cover?
Me: My tuition is around 33k but my overall expenses is $52,741 and that's even below my assistantship. And I have about 4k in surplus.
VO: Yeah, that's right.
VO: Are you single or married?
Me: I'm married. (He briefly glanced at my ring finger, it was empty.
VO: So, will your family go with you to the US?
Me: No they won't. (He waited for more explanation) I continued to say, "but I plan to pay scheduled visit to Nigeria at least once in an academic session". A beautiful expression came on his face when he heard "scheduled visit" I really could perceive it. And he continued to type at length.

VO: What does your wife do?
Me: She's into sales of clothing materials, shoes and bags.
VO: Ok. He puts my newest passport in a box beside him leaving the old one behind at his front. At this moment, I knew it's a YES!
He handed me the white paper and said "It will take about a week before your visa will be ready and you will need that paper to claim it"
Me: Oh, ok.
VO: You can go.
Me: Wow. Thank you very much. God bless you.
VO: you're welcome.

I'm the happiest man today!!! grin grin

Congrats bro
