How could you lose on the same coin when the coin is going up unless you put it in other coins or sold the Swing in loss. Swing just means you buy at every 10% or 20% dip and sell at resistance when it picks back up.

But what happened was that I wasn't patient to wait for resistance and would fomo back in when the coin I sold refused to dip.
It was after I lost 4 eth that I realised the importance of patience.
I suppose swing trading is the way to maximise profits....but with my current stack, every £100 price increase translates to a couple k gain, so I can afford to leave it and let it ride jare

You see when such coins are listed


Step 1 Do your do RESEARCH, read about it before it goes live

Step 2 Always find out it use case and how it may solve a current challenge in that industry or sector

Step 3 Find out how many exchanges it's trading on because you may have many bag holder of it on other exchanges e.g Kucoin or Gate.io would have listed it maybe March/February and bag holders on bitmax have dumped it on them on Kucoin when it was listed.

So, when it listed on binance, Kucoin bag holder profit from it and you (newbie) become a bag holder.

You may wonder how is that even possible, you can transfer from one exchange to another e.g. Binance to Kucoin.

Most times those parabolic moves are due to news. People will be reading chart not knowing some news has broken somewhere. Most times they miss the news completely sef and validate the upswing to TA. Just like ADA move from 0.9 to 1.5, that was simply shilling on major channels in anticipation of Goguen Mainnet, or if Microstrategy buy a coin, the news will pump the coin and we would still be thinking it's structure.

Bad News has kept XRP down so good news will lift it up. The news doesn't even have to be true - current XRP news is neither positive nor negative for the case but a lot of people think it is.

As tricky as interpreting charts could be, relying on news can even be much more tricky. In trading, we look for confluence and there can be lots of stuff to combine to give a clearer view
It's one thing to get the news, it's another to interpret it. A good number of times, price goes opposite of what folks expect moreso if it's just a news event. Not too long ago, there was alot of news on betece options expiry and volatility.. the options expired and nothing happened.

We're in a bullish market, so price will respond to bullish news. There's been alot of bearish news on betece that'd have caused a dump in a bear market but folks aren't even concerned about...The fact that betece had been on a rip since 20k and has just began to cool down meant that news or no news, alyts would rally.


For a large cap to go parabolic, lots of money needs to flow into it and usually that happens over a while, the parabolic phase comes with a confluence of multiple stuff and yes the right news can be the fire to ignite it...
If the marjet is bearish, even very bullish news will at most cause a pump that'd be sold into.. look at the betece china pump 2yrs ago...

Look at doge... Elon has been tweeting on it... anytime he does, ut rallies but is massively sold into... But then, it's slowly building structure and if support can hold long enough, sooner or later, it'd move (except if those selling have unlimited supply) and folks will say it's cos he tweeted.

On xrp, the sec issue wasn't just a news event.. because of that US exchanges delisted it causing a massive selloff. That happened quickly... Now everyone have been talking about the case for months, if they lose the case, I wouldn't be surprised price doesn't move simply cos most folks who wanted to sell have sold... If the win/settle, it may respond well cos that'd mean exchanges can list again

I believe TA stops one from getting harmed by buying into a coin with no support structure and many sellers, and also sets you up for incremental gains, but parabolic moves are always driven by narratives given the structure is there already and there are not too many bagholders willing to sell into the news. XRP exhausted a lot of bagholders in January (December bagholders prior to SEC announcement when price was 0.7) during the January pump to 0.7.

Without the SEC narrative, it can't go 2x just like that, regardless of TA, but if it went past that 0.7, it would not face much historic resistance till $3.30 from 2017, as well as the round numbers. I also rode XRP January pump from $0.3 to $0.7 and I dutifully set exit at $0.65 knowing it will collapse at $0.7. You are right, news alone cannot drive a parabolic move if the sellers have not been exhausted (structure) but you can't go parabolic without narrative either.

As at this moment, it's sold for 380+ that means I would have gone home with a 100% profit if I didn't panic sell. Like post nut clarity, after I sold it I started asking myself why did I buy if I didn't want to wait and makea reasonable amount of the coin. My point is, 90% of the time, patience is key.

At the moment I split my short term portfolio into BEAM, TROY, DENT and WIN Courtesy of the Calabar lady here and jesdisco . Let's see how the outcome in a month time.
