It's okay to just say thank you for the information and walk away even if it's not useful. Someone took out time to respond to you and is not being appreciated. This is why most people don't even try to help and honestly I don't blame them. Maybe we do not know about transit visa or what it entails but this is why the thread is titled 'Australian student visa enquiries'. Nigeria is frustrating enough and the time difference (inclusive of workload + study) for those is Australia can also be exhausting. Let's all do better and not make it any harder for each other. A little love and 'thank you' hasn't killed anybody.

They are indirectly forcing you to commence on online study. Try to contact your agent to know the next reasonable step to follow, best regards.

Just read that Melbourne will start international flights a week after Easter, how true do u guys think this is?

https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.abc.net.au/article/100027186

International flights would commence on the 8th of April. The faster the rate of the vaccination the shorter the wait time for International students

@Aussiejoan @AyaE and everyone that has been helping on this platform.

Guys I would be seeking for your honest opinions.

I applied for a Nursing course program starting June 28th 2021.

They previously sent a conditional letter I am yet to get my unconditional offer letter the school are in the process they just started after every details has been met and forwarded to them.

1. Is there hope of entering Australia by June 2021

2. Has anyone here gotten Australia visa in a month when they applied?

3. This program has just June and October every year do you advice I continue with the June application or start up afresh for october 2021 term before it gets filled up?

NB : My school stated boldly this my course can not be taken online they will need me present for this program I doubt they can grant me exemption letter for this or you think?

Thanks will be waiting to hear from you all soon heros .

@Kess2020.. since it's a nursing program and it was clearly stated that it can't be taken online, maybe you'll be granted an exemption coz some students that got in this year were given exemptions because they're medical students. Regarding getting into Australia this year, I personally doubt it, even the Astra Zeneca they're using can cause blood clots which has led New South Wales to suspend it's use recently. We're all in limbo with no end in sight but you have a better chance than a lot of us.

This whole thing is very serious and annoying.

I have two offers from my chosen University (UTAS) right now.

The first one, I've received the unconditional offer, I even defered it from February to July 2021 and I doubt if I can defer again cos their policy is just one deferment for an offer.

I planned paying for my fees this month but I won't pay again for now to avoid being tied to starting online.

The second one (Social Work) came with a bridging course to do for six months before Masters proper. This one starts July and my school said it cannot be done online and that's good for me cos I'm not in for an online study.
However, if I don't start this July, the deferment will be till next year July because the bridging should run from July till December so as to start the Masters which has only February intake.

Right now, the next year thing that I never bargained for is turning to a reality like play like play.

I remember telling a friend who outrightly deferred till next year because of the border drama that it's going to be a long wait for her but just see my life now, I'm gradually sliding into her long waiting shoes...

I'm really confused ooo...

So you are saying I shouldn't defer to october ?

Q1: While I want to be optimistic here and say yes, unfortunately that isn't feasible but it isn't impossible. First of all, the federal government is trying to piss everybody off for reasons best known to them regarding the vaccine but it looks like it is working in their favour as the Astra Zeneca vaccine has now been associated with the blood clots. However, they still have eggs in other basket even if it isn't much. They already placed the order for the Pfizer vaccine and the state of Victoria is also manufacturing the vaccine (I think it's the Astra Zeneca one) not from scratch though. The key to student arrivals is having more than 90% of the citizens vaccinated, quarantine programs for international students whose arrival quotas should not affect the Australians arriving in any way and the Federal government approval of such programs (which just isn't happening)

Q2. Although I came here in 2019 I got my visa in 2 weeks so yes it is possible.

Q3. There are a lot of factors you should consider regarding this but first I think you should talk to your school international student advisors regarding this, they are in the best position to give you an accurate info. Then you would take things from there (and you might be looking at deferring. Nursing is competitive and not easy to get as they say)

P. S I think the main reason your school said it can't be done online is because of placement

On a lighter note, God I hate the 3rd trimester cheesy grin what school is that ?

What's the first course you were offered.
Secondly, why can't you do the bridging course online ? Personally, I would have done that online and just start the main thing when I get here.
But this year is looking kinda bleak for international student arrival.
Let's just hope the Federal government will listen to the state on their proposals
Re: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by Priceless25: 5:33am On Apr 10, 2021
@Kess2020.. I'm not best suited to answer, contact your school since they said it can't be done online, they'll give you a better suggestion bearing in mind that boarders are closed to international students.
Re: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by VickayThrills: 9:05am On Apr 10, 2021
The first course is Tourism, Environmental and Cultural Heritage. I actually planned changing to Social Work from this if I eventually travel with this cos I was initially scared of applying for visa with my Social Work offer that came with a bridging course.

My school told me that I must be on campus for Social Work as it's not offered online and that's good for me cos I really don't want to do online study.

Since things are pointing to next year, I'll just wait and stick to my Social Work.
I was informed that the bridging course won't affect my chances as I was earlier worried/scared, so I'll just respect myself and endure with beliefs that it's for the best...

Hello house,

My wife is intending to study nursing in Australia. She has Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology from a Nigerian University.

She wants to do Bsc in Nursing. Or should she do a master's degree program in related course?

Please, which good and relatively cheap nursing school or University offering nursing in Australia do you recommend?

We are making some research, but I decided to also ask here.

I don't mind if the university is in the outskirts of Australian major cities.

Thanks.

She should try Masters in Nursing (coursework not research)
Nursing course is expensive so expect to pay a minimum of $10k per semester (I don't know if it has increased)
Check for schools online, their tuition fee is normally displayed on the website.

Yes in some Universities but not every Uni will accept MSc straight

Hello all,

Please I want to ask a question for a friend. He has done his biometric and medicals on the same day 31st of March. The medicals have shown on immi account that the result has been sent to DHA but the immi account is still requesting for the biometric. He went back to vfs to as them and they said they have sent it to DHA.
Please will the immiaccount keep requesting for biometric while the visa application is been processed. Please is urgent.

Cheers
Genny
