When will the Australian embassy begin to grant applicants their student visas this year 2021? Or have they started inviting Nigerians for visa collection?

My student visa was granted today.(Submitted my application in December, 2020) for me and my two children(Dependent) I will like to know if I can commence application for the rest of my family members while still in Nigeria.

When exactly in December did you apply and which day was your biometric done. I submitted my application on 20, Dec. 2020 and did biometrics the next day with my two children but I have not received any response from the embassy yet.

How market? All of you who were hopefully waiting for Australia boarders to be open?.. make Una dey wait oo

Lol, I've been in-active for a while and this is the first thing I am seeing after login in.

Well, I wish you success in your UK endeavours and as a matter of fact, I am super frustrated with the whole Australia boarder issues.

My friend and I, started this international study process together, he is already done with his final Msc exams in the UK and currently working on his project but i think it's important to note, that if I am to choose between Speed and Direction, I'll go for Direction. It's the impetus that sustain my speed.

Not withstanding, if I was financially buoyant, I would have switched to Canada route and not the Uk because the whole thing with Australia boarder is frustrating and depressing.

Best Wishes!

Do you know if a fully-vaccinated traveller can enter Aussie now?
wildchild1:

DHA have been granting visas since the beginning of the year. One of my students got visa on Friday, some of my colleagues students too got visas last month. The major problem now is the opening of border to allow those with visas travel.

If you're not a citizen or PR holder, you can only enter with travel exemption atm.

Na wa o. Australians are too confident about their economy. I hope they will survive the aftermath effect of this long travel restriction.

Hello, there. I thought schooling in Australia is far costlier than both Canada and UK, or am i wrong?

You're not wrong! But there are some factors worth considering for each individual situation.

Hi boss,
I really appreciate your inputs here on this thread. We learners appreciate them all.
Kindly answer my question.
What are the region(s), school(s) and course(s) to apply for if I want to stay(to get PR) in Australia after my studies?

AyaE:
Most Nigerians do disability work because the hours are flexible and the pay is fair. I'm not sure about driving a tractor because you would still have to convert your nigerian driver's license to aussie and the standard class is class C which restricts you to a certain type of vehicle depending on the weight. So if you bring the normal licence here it will not be equivalent to the one required to drive a tractor. Other skills you can learn is hair braiding or servicing of cars I guess. Just worry about getting to aussie and having some money to 'hold body' for like 4 months.
P.S: beg your dad (or save up) to pay for at least half of the second semester.

Dear All,

Thank you all for the good job. I just got a PhD offer with scholarship in UNSW and would appreciate if someone can guide on how to package my visa application better.

I just got my US visa for PhD also but I prefer Auss. Also I have got some travel history, all for study purpose. Equally, I have a PhD offer with Scholarship in Canada but would reject it if the visa for Auss is sure.

I would appreciate your kind guidance.

Impressed, with the suite of offers/scholarships across multiple institutions/countries. More impressed that you know what you want and ready to focus on it. The fact that you are attending UNSW with full scholarship has almost already guaranteed your visa if you prepare the forms well. There is a lot of guides on previous pages and online. We can provide response on specific questions you may have of course. Start by trying to fill the form and take it up from there.......again, I will be quite surprised that you will not get your Visa

Congrats, there shouldn't be an issue with your visa application as DHA highly regard PhD/research students. The issue should be aftermath of PhD, what next? It maybe challenging for you if you're unable to secure a job as a research fellow, lecturer or something that has to do with your PhD directly as no one will like to employ you with PhD due to wages because less qualify people can do same thing.
Base on my own opinion, there's more opportunities for research students in USA than Australia but you may get a PR or citizenship quicker in Australia and make more money but consider jobs opportunities after your program.

Thanks so much, That is what I am taking into consideration now because I have another Canada PhD. I was planning to start the application this week before I saw Australia too. Now I am praying for God's guidance between Canada and Australia.

Good morning everyone, I am new here and have read through the comments, I intend to apply for masters in Australia. I have a B.Sc Agric ( first degree) and a Masters of public and international Affairs. I do not have any school in mind. I'd appreciate if anyone can recommend/help with schools to check out, also any other information would be helpful.

My wife applied for visa in December 2020. Close to February 2021 when her studies was billed to start, she deferred her admission till July 2021.

Up till now there has been no response from the relevant authorities. What could possibly be the problem?

Whats the status saying on the immi portal? She should try to send an email to the office.

Dear All,

Please I need your advise. I got my US visa for Phd on the 8th june and got another PhD offer with full scholarship in UNSW Sydney on the 9th june. I need to buy health insurance for me and my wife before the school refund mine once I start my program.

The school has sent me CoE already but my entrance period is feb 2022.

Now I am planning to go to US first in August do 1 year with them and commence my visa processing in November or December so that I can raise some funds for the health insurance.

Hope this move wont be a red flag for me and my wife?
Re: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by Ikjosh04: 9:23pm On Jun 18
Send a mail to immigration.pretoria@dfat.gov.au using the email linked to your immi account.

The content of the mail should contain your
Application id
Visa lodgement number
Passport number
Full name
Student id
Applicant email
Then make your enquiry.

You should get a reply within 48hrs.

Naijabad:
My wife's studies commences 19th of July 2021; no visa grant yet.

She differed her admission to July because of this same visa issue.

Her visa application was lodged in December 2020 and all processes were dully followed.

What should we do at this point?
Online learning is out if the question.
Update!!!

SA pilot program got approved by the Federal Government, hopefully NSW will drop the good news in the coming days.

Hello house.
Please I will like your sincere advice on this. I have a bachelor's degree in computer science and I will like to study master in cyber security in Macquarie University. My agent pfl is confirming that I won't need a bank statement for the visa process and the visa is guaranteed because Macquarie is AL1 University but I will need to pay tuition deposit and health insurance of almost 6 million.
I will like to confirm if I won't be needing bank statement.
Thank you.
