If English speaking countries cost (tuition and proof of funds) were feasible most of us will be on that path.but that's not the case..like Arinze rightly said some are using for a first stop in itinerary plans, while also praying the country will still favor them.. I won't lie personally I'm scared moving to a whole new place but the truth is I'm ready to face my battles heads on I 100% know it won't be easy but its something I'm ready to do.. I keep praying for Gods favor and grace and I pray for all who are embarking on this journey that whatever we are looking for on this new life journey we shall find it .

Speaking from experience and having to live in the Nordic country for 20years plus would kindly advice those who are aiming for a professional jobs to seek for that in a more sociable and English speaking countries. Don’t let the free education fool you, life in Nordic countries is hard and for an educated mind working as a cleaner isn’t really empowering if you ask me ..

Born in Nigeria and raised in Sweden. Yeah destines differs and not saying that there is no opportunity in Norge, all am saying is do your calculation well. Norway is mad expensive, the monthly expenses for the year would pay for your tuition in England and you will be able to get a job and fit in properly.
Let’s talk about the social aspect of Nordic countries, do you guys know there is a massive diversity crisis and Norwegians are cold ass people and anti social unlike people from the UK who are welcoming and I should add we do have a massive systematic racism..

Most professional jobs that foreigners do that don’t require proficiency in Norwegian are engineering and IT related jobs but then you have to be very smart to get employed with a foreign company and ready to compete with locals as well..

So make una try do una home work before making the decision to move to Norway..

Not writing this things to discourage anyone, I’m just writing from my own experience and having some Nigerians who graduated here sharing their horrible experiences.. Ha en bra dag
Arinze001:

Nice-nice!

But you lived in the Nordic region for 20 years comfortably, how come?

Some people are using Norway as a first stop in their itinerary plans, and if Norway provides comfortability for one, the person will definitely stay. I know you wouldn't agree more.

To sum up, destinies are different. We pray for grace.

Tuition fee in the Uk is about 8m minus accommodation and feeding so for me it isn't feasible.it's all about cutting your coat according to your size. I believe most of us here have done our research and that's why we have decided to move to Norway . It's not easy like you have rightly said but it's never easy anywhere ..Tusen takk

Norway and Finland are not the same bro... lots of people will pick Finland over Norway in a blink...

Norway is a very good country considering some aspect( peaceful life, working system, one of the best places in the world to raise kids( tho some say " to raise boring kids"wink in general, Norway is not as easy as some of us imagine it to be... and especially for people not into STEM courses... the weather is another situation to consider... yesterday, a man was found to have died in his apartment since 2011!!!! the police just found him yesterday... this is to tell you the level of boredom and mind your business attitude in Norway... bottom line, have a back up plan... and you will just be fine... 6 of my friends who graduated from different universities in Norway are now scattered in different parts of the world... just go to Norway with an open mind and you will be just fine.... lykke til everyone...

Thank you so much for your concern.....Pls I intend going for my masters in either sweden, Norway or US next year (funds not a problem) and I can see you were raised in sweden.....I'm an experienced IT professional and love Scandinavia so they are my top choice...Someone told me sweden is far better than Norway especially when it comes to immigration and integration....Which of the two Nordic countries do you advise me to go for?...Also should I consider the US over the two Nordic countries even though I personally don't like the US cos of its so many issues....

Look forward to your reply...Thanks!

my advice to anyone who English is their first language is to move to an English speaking country. In your case yo can try Canada since USA isn’t a place for you else Sweden in IT related jobs and diversity is better if you ask me.

Hello Dumebi, I have a question please-I already saw what you wrote about difficulty in gaining admission to study a B.Sc course in Norway but I want to ask this anyway. So I already have a B.Sc(Sciences) and a PgD in Communications(which I got because I wanted to move over to the social sciences/humanities/arts) and I eventually did-I also got a certification in teaching English online, wanted to do a post graduate English Edu course but the strikes in Naija universities and everything else hasn't been encouraging at all, so now I want to get a BA in English somewhere abroad and then build my English/English Edu career from there.

The challenge now is in the mode application. The schools I want to apply to all require 1 year university education as a criteria, and since I have a B.Sc(I don't like my grades there especially in my 100 level) and an P.gD(I love my PgD grades and my transcript would surely look very good), I'm wondering if it's possible to present my PgD grades as evidence of one year of uni education. Does anybody have an experience with this? Or must it be one year of B.Sc studies? I look forward to hearing from everyone in the house,I'd really appreciate your contributions-thank you!

P.S: I'm just asking this as an initial question to see people's experiences, I still intend to contact the schools via email and ask them to know what's possible with each school in terms of which certificate to use and what isn't.

Thank you!

Yeah, they do.
This ongoing admission roll-out, someone with a 2.94 got an admission offer. Surprising? Yeah, you can say that again!

The best bet is applying for what you did as an undergrad.

Spread your applications and be hopeful!.

I thought not all schools requested for IELTS as part of their requirements?

Are you saying a 2.2 product should write IELTS irrespective of the school just as a backup to complement the class of Degree?

Thanks!

Secondly I am a final year student in Lagos State University studying Insurance. I want to further in my education by going to the University of Oslo for a course in Entrepreneurship or Stochastic and risk management. Although Risk management is very related to my course of study. I will be graduating with a cgpa of 3.90 by the grace of God. I have been doing petty petty research and I want anyone that wants to apply for the admission when it opens in October to make us work together so we can achieve our dreams.. I might even forfeit NYSC, because I can't serve a country that hasn't served me. Please let us hook up good people, and if creating a whatsapp group would be okay please early preparation prevents failure. God bless us all. Do we still have statflux here? Make una help us oooo
my fellow lasuite! Please have you been able to secure admission? If yes, which school? If no, are you still on it or you've considered something else?

Thanks in anticipation!

Competitions are high these days, depending on the university of your choice, you'll need minimum of 75% CGPA. For the top schools, may be 80% and above. University of Tromso accepts First Class Student only (for some courses am aware of). It will do no harm to send mail to the corresponding universities.
sorry please, which schools would you recommend for someone with 4.20CGPA/5.0?

Thanks in anticipation!

If your school didn't request for ielts, you don't have to write ielts.
I assume he gave the ielts advise just to make you more competitive in the admission process and have wider options.

Above all, apply for an MSc course you did as an undergrad and be hopeful.

2) NTNU said by late April referencing from an Intel that emailed the admissions team.

Let's keep our fingers crossed
