Self-driving vehicles, Industrial scale automations, Operations in unsafe zones like oil rigs, Increased successes in surgical operations … these are part of the many promises of artificial intelligence.

Do you know that the highest grandmaster of the hardest board game in the world GO is an AI? 9 March 2016 – 15 March 2016 was the week AlphaGo broke the internet by beating Lee Sedol an 18-time world champion by 4 – 1. It was a feat considered impossible as the number of possible moves in the game of GO is more than the number of atoms in the universe. And that was the week I was seduced from the medical career I was pursuing and everything became history.

the popular maxim that "the universe is infinite" is an exaggeration at best.

we need to wait until we have explored every nook and cranny of the universe first.

I play both chess and Go

Am not sure of your claim of the bolded. Number of Atoms in the universe?

The Number of atoms in the universe is at max 1082 Go has 10360 possible moves.

Exploring the universe will be almost impossible because it is incomprehensibly vast and it is also expanding. It will also probably outlive us.

I play both also but I am an amateur in both.

Anyways, thanks for the kind words.

Interesting. I am also an AI enthusiast and my interest is on the Microcontroller programming (TinyML). Interestingly I don’t like Pytorch, I use Tensorflow for deep leaning and neural network. I’m currently working a traffic light(Computer Vision) model to be deployed to PyBoard and Arduino.

I want to go into electronic programming too. Though have started with Arduino using c/c++. I also want to use raspberry pii and pyboard. My only challenge now is I don't have any knowledge about electronic but I'll learn it as soon as am able to have a source of income.

I want to go into robotics.

Good day guys
I have been following your discussion here and I really love it, I would love you guys to help me out in my career path.
I'm an IT enthusiast who really love AI, Cyber Security and Control Embedded System also, and I don't just know how to combine these together, and I would love you guys to help me out in a field in IT where I can work with knowledge from those three areas.
Thanks

Great Thread. I wonder how it got to front page considering what you see there lately. smiley
And I was even surprised as I was working on RL project at the moment.

Though having some challenges, this is a great motivation.

Science is the observation of FACTS. What you are writing up there isn’t science but fiction because it has NO scientific backup.

Have you heard about the Friedmann equations, or the cosmic microwave background, or the Hubble constant? If any of your answer is no then this discussion is over.

Math can be learned along the way. The equations you need are not everyday mathematical equations, so you and a mathematician will probably start on the same clean state in understanding the concepts.

Ai and machine learning only requires basic maths unlike Data Science.

You actually need more than basic maths to excel in Ai and machine learning.
A person working in the field of AI who doesn’t know math very well is like a politician who doesn’t know how to persuade. Both have an inescapable area to work upon!

You definitely need to have a working understanding of linear algebra, probability (not the secondary school stuffs), multivariate calculus, and optimization to excel; except you just want to copy codes from here and there without understanding the algorithm you are implementing.

As always, one just needs to start from somewhere.

During this past few weeks I have been able to explore another part of the AI promise, automated gaming.
Games are part entertainment and part logical and strategical so training an AI agent through reinforcement learning could help us develop other important agents like the case of an agent trained by google that was able to cut their electricity bill of a server building by more than 70%.
How did you survive google collab constantly shutting down your training, or did you use gcloud?
Re: A Thread On My Experiment With Reinforcement Learning & Artificial Intelligence. by generous: 11:00pm On Apr 18, 2021
I am really surprised to see a trend like this on front page.. I am a master student in data analytics, and I am currently writing my thesis in a computer vision and deep learning field. Currently every advanced company uses AI in one way or the other to get ahead and stay in competition. I am open to contribute to any great work. I wish courses like this gets to Nigeria soon because Africa is really behind in technologies this.

Colab shutdowns after around 12 hours, so I make sure the code checkpoints the model before then (use of python time module). The checkpoint is stored on google drive so training resumption is painless.

It shuts down a lot for me, bad network I suppose, plus I guess your training data was not too large, having to load a large training data to collab sucks.
