Colonization has really made people dumb.

The only title the Oba of Benin has ever carried is Oba. All these stories you read and hear are mere fairytales. History is an investigative work backed by eyewitness written documents.

Here are the facts:

1) Benin was a developed empire
2) the capital of Benin is called Benin city
3) Ife was a village with a shrine and a shrine keeper (oni)
4) Ife was under the alafin of oyo Kingdom
5) the british started developing Ife as from 1912

Well, it’s not by logic. It’s by what the earliest already documented Benin accounts says.

The oldest received accounts of Benin history says that Eweka 1 is the first Oba of Benin

But you didn’t answer my question 1 and 2 embarassed Lol.

Side Note:
Isn’t Iginuwa the first Olu of the Itsekiris? What has his father or Ozolua got to do with ruling Itsekiri?
If you can observe his tune he is ascribing seniority to the warri stool on the basis of the fact that iginuwa was the older of the two sons and I tried to let him know that the exact same scenario played out between Benin and Oyo. from what I know Eweka was oronmiyan's first son

There was no oranmiyan ! In which language shall you be told this simple fact ?
When will your brain grow smart enough to stop peddling fairytales ?

@gregyboy, here is your brother confessing unknowingly that the actual Bini word for “king” is “OGIE”.

Oba is the loan term from your masters — the Yorubas.

Who is a Duke, a Duke is a ruler of a small town
In that small town that ruler is a king(oba), that doesn't mean he is an obs, but descriptively he is an oba

Likewise ogie= a ruler of a small town, in that town he is the king(oba) so his title could be use interchangeably depending on the sentence

Ogie means= royal, king

Oba = king of all king and all royal

Oranmiyan lived because multiple, independent narrations passed down to the present generation via different independent sources & kingdoms all attest to his existence.

The evidence-type for his existence is therefore the same evidence-type which attests to the existence of the following personages:

Eweka I, Uwuakhuahen, Ehenmihen, Ewedo, Oguola, Edoni, Udagbedo, Ohen, Egbeka, Orobiru, Uwaifiokun, Ewuare I, Ezoti, Olua, Ozolua, Esigie, Orhogbua, Ehengbuda, Ohuan, Ohenzae, Akenkpaye, Akengbedo, Ore-Oghene, Ewuakpe, Ozuere, Akenzua I, Eresoyen, Akengbuda, Obanosa, Ogbebo, and Osemwende

Or do you consider these Benin heroes and fathers to be fairy-tales because none of their family members, friends, or visitors wrote down any of their names ??

it is only non-itsekiri who support this trouble. Why?

Even someone who claims to not like to engage in ethnic issues of this kind will break his own principle just to support this case of disqualifying an itsekiri Prince with yoruba mother

You people just want to distabilise itsekiri.

One lesson itsekiri can learn from this is to not give into those who have tried to play them into positions of disadvantage

Shut up. Fool

Where did I get involved in itsekiri matters

I simply asked. Sine the immediate King studied law why didn't he legally challenge the edict that would disqualify his sons 37 years throughout before he died?

Secondly, where there princes before him who were who was also disqualified because they didn't meet certain conditions. Simple as ABC

I don't need to be an itsekiri to be able to rationalise these simple things. Nothing about you, your clan or tribe threatens my potentials. Get lost

The guy whom you are replying is also not itsikeri, don't mind him he has no consistency.
He is a "yoruba" who believes it is in his ethno-centric interests to support tsola in anyway possible (since tsola's mother is from Ogun state).

The ascension to the throne of Olu is governed by the law, and according to that same law, tsola is not qualified. Period.

No! His reason (contrary you your bolded assumption) is because Itsekiri is a Yoruba subgroup.

Says who? shocked Well, says the Itsekiris themselves for their earliest known testimony. smiley

(1) Quoting from the eyewitness account of Captain H. L. Gallwey’s “Journeys in the Benin Country”:

Let me now refer briefly to the tribes that people this part of the world. First we come to the Jakris, who are connected in race and language with the Yoruba people, extending from the Mahin country on the west to the Forcados on the East, and inland about as far as Sapele.
~ H. L. Gallwey, “Journeys in the Benin Country, West Africa,” The Geographical Journal, Vol. 1, No. 2 (Feb., 1893), p.127.

(2) Quoting from H. Ling Roth’s (1903) report from eyewitnesses of the late 1800s:

In this respect, however, the officials agree with the tradition of the people at Warri, the Jekries, who claim to come from the west.
~ H. Ling Roth, “Great Benin: Its Customs, Arts and Horrors,” (1903), pp.8-9.

Which heat ?
Did they use armour tank or jet bomber?
Unnecessary bragging and noise, there was no weapon that could have been put to use in Warri that was not used in Ife Modakeke, so much that mobile police men had to be removing their clothes to avoid been killed, they lost men and their fire power was nothing to the fortified youths fighting. Abeg leave story, if a boy never visited another man's farm, to him his father's is the largest.

Social media has truly thought me to be wary of the younger generation and they are evil at heart. I will continue to be very careful of the young generation seeing the venom in the hearts of the younger generation.

I believe every tribe should choose their rules and regulations and should not be disturbed by external. Influence. The whole frame playing out in the kingship crisis proves Ayiri is perfectly correct.

If tomorrow a mixed tribe ascends the throne, edicts, laws, principles and issues would be of mixed interests not pure, genuine tribal interests

Rather than speak the truth in absolution. I see many yorubas running here and there like it has anything to do with them

Itsekiri has always said it has ties with the yorubas but does it mean it doesn't have a right to its heritage and Preserving it how she sees fit

The hypocrisy in Nigerians is stinking and appalling

These are the same. Elements that will cry fulani and house are doing this and that, but yet on the flip side are much worse devils

Itsekiri people should decide their fate without external influence simple as ABC.
