Foreign investors are now leaving. New ones are not coming because they are scared of the anti-democratic principles of the government.

When Twitter was planning to come to Nigeria, by using the ENDSARS Protest as a litmus test to verify the country's democracy he was shouted down by APC's spokesman Adamu Garba and threatened with court summons for supporting the people's right to protest.
Niger Delta Republic, Oduduwa Republic, Biafra. This is the time to declare your sovereignty before Buhari finishes you in the last quarter of his tenure as president.

Basically, the way forward is simple.

But because it hits Nigerians in the pocket, neither government nor the people want to follow it.

Which local investors can survive all these lack of coordination, high cost of doing business. See how unemployment is on the rise. Even Nigerians are taking their money to Gambia, Ghana and Ivory Coasts.

My anger is that shell and other socalled oil majors are busy selling off oil blocks given to them by the federal government to develop to other oil exploration companies, whimsically, as if those OPL belongs to them! They have made billions of dollars this way and the fact that the federal government stands hands akimbo, doing nothing to stop this generational heist is simply stunning!

The oil wells belong to the country and not the oil companies! If they want to elope with the much they have already looted(we always hear they want to divest and run away, but they're always here to suck us dry), they can do so without auctioning off the countrys oil resources to the highest bidders and pocketing the money while living the Niger Delta as the most polluted place on planet earth!
It's Evil! The height of economic terrorism..
so who are u blaming the oil companies or daft president

I think Nigeria is going in the right direction the only problem is that we have eaten almost all pur stock so we are finding it hard to work.

I am proud igbo and I believe government is always the same. There has not been a different government in Nigeria since inception nor any where in the world.

Take away sentiment for a moment and think like a modern human.

Buhari ruined this country

I know someone, who before 2015 had a suv and a bus for business. He complained about Gej and voted Buhari. He was not hungry then, he was angry of what he said was massive corruption.

Today he treks.
He doesn't complain anymore. He only regrets voting buhari
this is just the beginning for him and those that voted the lifeless into power

however the bigger picture is that america never used to drill its own environments for oil but now it has started drilling its own environment for oil and so they no longer need to get oil from nigeria and couple that with the fact that the biggest oil refinery in the world is being built in nigeria and will be functional this year so it is no longer viable for them to be here anymore. the new emerging superpower is nigeria and in the future all countries will bring their oil to nigeria to be refined. there is a transfer of global wealth happening and a reversal of fortunes. africa is emerging and so it is no longer viable for the west to be in africa again. its cheaper for them to look for oil in their own backyard now. Also many local nigerians are taking over the drilling game in nigeria and so the competition is stiff. couple that with the fact that the use of oil is now being seing as a dinosaur when other energy avenues are cropping up everyday

Insecurity?

Those in government think it doesn't matter as long as it doesn't affect them much, after all they are moving with armed security.

But they forget something very important, those people being kidnapped, maimed & robbed are the ones paying the taxes the elites use to enjoy life. Life is no 1 priority to everyone, if can't make them feel safe, they take their money elsewhere & the government ends up being broke.

The off-shore refinery scam is coming to an end. I can't rap my mind around how Naija politicians/leaders allowed this skulduggery to gone on for decades.
May we all live long enough to see the end of the corrupt NNCP, and Naija fully profit from her natural resources for a while.

EKONGKING:
Nigeria is on its last legs . These western companies are just seeing writing on wall and are diverting away from oil and from risky region of the world.
Coal used to be king of the fuel in 19 th century, now it's a pale shadow .oil is king in 20 th century ,now sun and wind will the king in 21 st century

Apart from diversification, these Companies know, just as we all know but pretend not to know, that Nigeria is sitting on a lighted Grenade, inside a Keg of Gun-powder. This country can conflagrate at any moment.
When the Companies see the Govt of the country they are operating in, using Fighter Jets to bomb its own Civilians in Akwa Ibom, Ebonyi and other places, when it sees how Fulani terrorists are running rampage, even Nigerians themselves are desperate to leave this country, and you dont want foreign countries to stay?

The oil companies sell their stake in the development of those oil blocks. If over 30 years I have contributed my 40% equity cash call then I am entitled to sell same equity to another company if I choose to move on.

Oil is the mainstay of our economy, yet most Nigerians have no real clue how the industry operates.
