But I don't think the blackmail is over just yet.
The proposed ESL model is such that the "super clubs" would be guaranteed champions league income every season.
As it stands, they need to qualify for UCL to get a slice of the money which gives every club in Europe an equal chance.
The ESL, if allowed to survive will kill all the excitement that comes with surprises in champions league football.
It's a very selfish idea and must be rejected by all lovers of the round leather game the world over.
