Garba Shehu and his leader have their rights to opinions. As the transient power of government lies in their hands today, so the right of dissent of the secessionists. As the reality of every morning, so is it appearing to be the reality of Nigeria's balkanization. My major worry is violence which the attempt to keep a forced marriage may bring about. The fraud set up as a country and constitution can no longer stand. The power of coercion formerly the total preserve of the government and so called leader is available to the secessionists. Most unfortunate may be the sabotage from even the soldiers these so called leader may be relying on. Time has come for these "leaders" to get down from the high horse and address the real issue. The fraud has failed with it's paperworks and institutions. For me violence should be avoided and the fraud must end.

You have a valid point. I think the igbos and even yoruba should start voting for successionist parties or pro referendum parties. That way they can push their agenda at the centre. Its somehow hypocritical to vote PDP and APC when you don't even believe in Nigeria in the first place.

You get my point

Foolish old men win rotten brains. I think our leaders need to be going for tutoring very now and then. Let them get lessons from leaders of developed countries.

it's obvious majority of d Igbos clamouring for seccesion don't know what it means n what it entails
If you know the evolution of the 1999 of the FRN you wouldn't have posted this comment.

Just a little but not all to cure your ignorance, no Igboman president has anything to do with the Constitution as the Constitution was in the first place the brain child of the military under IBB in 1988. Again, the 1999 Constitution is more or less an amended version of the 1979 Presidential Constitution midwifed by the military under OBJ.

The Igbo man you referenced as president was only a ceremonial president with no real powers of govt. The government was ran by Tafawa Balewa.

Your zero knowledge of the Constitution shows you're the bigger dumbfool.

Some of the challenges in the country are genuine.
Some others are orchestrated by those the President would say are playing "irresponsible politics."
For such people, they would first urinate inside the well they want to draw drinking water from.
They would gladly step into power, treading on skulls and crossbones, and on the flowing blood of innumerable countrymen. Ogres!
But sane, good and honest Nigerians are wiser.
They know those who are serving them, and who wish to serve more for altruistic reasons.
They also know those who just want to grab power, so that the country can return to business as usual, and their snouts can be dipped in the honeypot once again.

Accountability is top-notch.
Under some presidents, the rich gets richer, while the poor gets prison.
Not under Buhari.
The resources of the country are for the people of the country.
Greatest good to the greatest number of people.
The last administration (we won't and can't stop talking about them, never!) sat over resources in billions of dollars.
Oil prices hit $140 dollars per barrel under their watch, and stabilized at about $100-110 for a number of years. They met our foreign reserves at $62 billion.
When they left, it was just $29.6, yet oil prices had hit the rooftops.
What happened? Thievery.
Today, with oil prices having dropped to about $30 per barrel in 2015, and now oscillating between 60 and 70 dollars per barrel, our reserves have hit $47 billion, and still growing.
Prudence. Transparency. Resourcefulness. Accountability.
Would we have exchanged this type of government for another?
That would mean willful blindness, after our sights had been amazingly restored.
That would mean willful backsliding into perdition, after we had been wonderfully saved.

Still talking of accountability, you must have heard of the billions and trillions of naira that accrued to government from agencies like Customs, Federal Inland Revenue Service, NIMASA, JAMB, and many others in recent times.
These agencies are not newly created.
So, what happened to revenues they made in the past? Your guess is as good as ours.
Will we then leave terra firma for terra incognita?
God forbid!
Because an accountable man is in the driver's seat, the virtue is now flowing downwards.

God bless our Darling Daddy President Muhammadu Buhari.
God bless Nigeria.
When will this guy be cured of his mumurity?
Chai person wey do you this thing strong ooo
Even buhari will be laughing at you

The Presidency on Tuesday criticised calls for secession noting that President Muhammadu Buhari will not be bullied.

Addressing journalists during a media parley at the headquarters of the All Progressives Congress in Abuja, presidential spokesman Mr Garba Shehu said those advocating for secession are the problem of the country.

Why is it that every statement, Press conference, policy announcements, etc. is always attributed to the PRESIDENCY? Where the f**k is the President himself? Does it mean he can't hold a Press briefing and talk to the citizens of the so called country that he's supposed to serve and protect? Nigerians are just plain daft especially the IDIOTS that still believe in ONE NIGERIA. How can you live in a country where citizens are been killed on a daily basis, chaos everywhere, and yet the person who is in charge could not come out and speak to the citizens? All the "Presidency" is concerned and talks about is UNITY. It has NEVER proffered any solution as to how to deal with the moribund economy and INSECURITY that pervades the landscape. You can't have UNITY when there's no unifying factor amongst the ethnic groups.

You are a fo.ol and a very useless one. I wouldn't have even responded to you idio.tic bas.tard. but I will. Because you are so dvmb upstairs you have nothing to offer. Nnamdi Azikiwe was a ceremonial president in a parliamentary system of government that holds no power. The prime minister does. Tafawa Balewa. So he has no authority to create a constitution all by himself even the president now cannot do that with all the power he has. Yes Igbos have their own issues which is a problem to them and not to you. We have every right to complain when things don't go our own way because this is a federation and not a fuedal empire run by a master and a slave. The present constitution has nothing to do with Nnamdi Azikiwe who died 1996 and was ceremonial president 1960. The constitution was written by the Military of Abdusalami Abubakar in favour of the North. Now check and reason if you have a Brain if you are the fo.ol or not. I don't know your tribe but I can guess where the fvck you come from. Am sure there is a brain in your head but you don't have the ability to know what it's used for.

I completely agree with you. Nigeria as a country is rigged to fail. We can never enjoy good governance because we might never get the best hands to lead us. We may never get the best hands to lead us because one clan or region decides it is their turn to loot and they fix the most illiterate and incompetent people in sensitive positions. If Nigeria doesn't break up peacefully, it'll eventually break violently. If something hasn't worked for 61 years, its only foolish to continue trying to make it work. Except you are gaining something out of the broken system. This is why some "patrotic nigerians" are hell bent on making the mess called Nigeria continue.
The key word is it would either break up peacefully or violently. grin
