I would suggest you complete your internship first before going for your Msc. By the end of your internship you'd be more experienced and you'd have your full practicing license already which would be an additional advantage during your Msc

MlsBreaa:
Good day everyone. Please I wanted to know if it is advisable (or not) to go for a masters abroad immediately after getting my bachelors degree in medical laboratory science or to go complete my internship first before going for the masters.

Hello everyone. Please I really need advice. I'm a 28y/o public health graduate also I have an msc in reproductive health. I really want to do mls direct entry but we all know how hard it is to get direct entry especially for a competitive course like med lab. So I'm thinking of MLT. My question is, can I do MLT and do a Pgd in mls? Would that elevate me to the status of a med lab scientist? Or should I still be hustling for DE mls. Please urgent advice needed. Thanks

okay, I'm just surprise
After Bsc.Public health
Msc reproductive Health..

I have always thought Public health expert are hot cake and am considering going for Msc in public health
Re: Medical Laboratory Scientists Forum by Zuraa: 2:18pm On Mar 18, 2021
It's not always the case. For publichealth, they always look for medical professionals like doctors, nurses, pharmacists etc.. but a pure public health degree, job is hard.

Like Opera1 said, There is nothing like PGD in MLS that can convert you to a Medical Laboratory Scientist.
To become MLSt, you need a B.MLS with a practicing License either through UTME or DE.

So, DE is the better option for you right now.

I have a question dear medics... please does school grade affect someone's chance of getting placement for internship? and also when does a mlscientist qualify on having private labs... can he do it after internship and nysc or are there still other requirement for that?

Not at all
Your performance at the interview is what determines your internship placement. Aside academic purpose, your GPA doesn't matter when it comes to placement either job or internship

thank you for replying sir/ma.. I've just been beating myself up because of my 2.2 grade. It's not like I couldn't get 2.1 or 1st class... I just had some very bad problems with my psyche and health through out my undergrad days... I finished with a very strong upper credit in yabatech slt...and gained admission to study mls from 200l but i fell very sick (I had a severe pain that wasn't going to reduce from my back up to my eyes, hands and legs which messed up my mind and thoughts from 200l to 400l) only for me to recover during my final academic year (500l)..... so my fear of getting job opportunities after graduation is what prompted this question.. I also don't know if it will affect my chances of writing exams that can make me work outside the country. I would love your reply sir/ma

good afternoon guys, so I kinda bumped into an heated argument between a medical doctor and a lab scientist, and the doctor was like what we are studying for a whole five years as a course they do it in a semester, that stuff troubles me alot, I wanna ask how true dat is?

Grade is useless with employment be it internship or work. People want to see what you have and what you can deliver. As long as you aren't delinquent in both you are fine. A CGPA of 2.2 doesn't mean you're bad and can't best those with first class or 2.1 who cram everything and know nothing.
Never forget, know what you are doing
