FODA:
you cannot quit it bro, just pray for grace and favour ,those who start with "I want to"do this I want to do that don't normally do,but grace will provide a better options for you in Jesus name .

Bro, what sort of advice is this.

A job is not a sentence, you can choose to leave anytime, so long you are not breaching any contract.

There is no country on earth that is good to stay jobless.

There are homeless people living in Japan. Most of them sleep in Cafes.

Poverty is taking over large number of people in India due to Corona Virus lockdowns. India records daily new cases of over 60,000 infections.

Most parts of Sweden are poor and the masses are jobless, (Malmo, Rosengard) utterly jobless, they look poorer than Nigerians. Emaciated.

Having a well paying job is a luxury anywhere in the world.

Yet most good paying jobs in Nigeria frustrate you and make you feel like a prisoner. Like the poster said.
Stop exergerating abeg even Japan I thought they are living in heaven o

Anyway, my advice is that if you want to to quit make sure u have plan B, that is, some that will be giving you stipend, that is the only way to search for another good job. thanks

I will advise you, if you don't have enough money that can substain you for atleast six months while you look for another job then don't try it because is suicidal.

I am about to quit mine. Those people dont have an organized way of running an organization. Imaging recruiting somebody with same certificate as mine and with no experience, then offering him a bigger pay than mine, while i have been complaining and lamenting for an increment. This is the height of injustice and wickedness. angry

Hmmm this stuff happens a lot In Most Nigerian Organizations.....

I was working with this logistics company that has a branch in ikeja when I first came to Lagos, everything was moving fine that I stopped applying for other jobs just because of small small runs.

Fast forward, one of us left after she got a bank job and the management decided to reshuffle and move me to yaba branch. The supervisor there frustrated me. Time to go home he will refuse, I think he hate seeing his wife, he was always shouting and I think maybe because I was a graduate and he wasn't.

After working two weeks in Yaba I decided to leave, as my salary just enter, I called HR that I am leaving, that same day baba won just start his shouting and I called him, gave him sound warming, tell am say I don leave the job. The shock on his face was golden because he never believe I could leave.

Baba started advising me.

... Till today I keep thanking God I left. When I was taken to Yaba I keep asking God why, I never knew God saw I was too comfortable on the job and that was not his plans for me.

Now the guy is still there doing his supervisory work and I am receiving X8 of what I was receiving there.

One thing is to quit, the other thing is to find another job.

I keep advising people that if they want to quit any job, they should be sure that another job is waiting for them or they have some personal side hustling doing.

This country is not a place to stay jobless
I quit my job without hope of another job. Today, I'm living better than I ever thought. And it's not just me. I have many friends who did such, too.

Note: all my friends and I are into pure legit hustles.

You must be wondering where the motivation came from. It's simple. When you look at your current miserable job, pay and standard of living then look at people who have spent all their lives in that career/job but none of them's life is close to what you want for yourself 10yrs from now let alone 35yrs from now, then you know you're not on the right track.

It's simple.

motionarena, I have.

When I stumbled into a thread discussing freelancing on Nairaland, I couldn't sleep for days.

As a graduate working for a startup, my salary wasn't up to 100k. However, I strongly believed that I could do much better than I was earning if I took the bold step.

Finally, I did and that decision was my toughest ever, but it turned out my best career decision.

Funnily enough, my former colleagues are still earning the same salary some 3 years later. I cannot even talk about how the naira/dollar exchange rate has made my job better, the exposure I get and free time at my disposal.

Now, I get plenty of rest and look so fresh grin

No jumping into Lagos traffic.

The truth is, no guts, no glory

I have also left salary for one bread company like that.

I worked close to 1 month then and it was December period and they needed me to park in and work overtime, gave me a carton of tummy tummy. I considered it as my payoff and sold the carton around #3500 and bailed out.

I regret I never did. I was fed up but remained there until something else brought my leaving after 18 months. I regret not leaving after 3 months. All the fears never happened.

Anyways, lessons learned. I'll not work for anyone again talk more of working in a toxic environment without work culture.

Yes I did in 2020 during covid-19. The inhumane treatment was getting too much. I work round the clock. Couldn't take it no more so I moved.

This is what I expect from some guys here...if u get a job,the first day of work would tell u how it will end. Examine the life of the people there, their attitudes towards money especially when they work as if there are no other alternatives. Then u should be able to tell ur next move.
