Remember that a lot of people in the US didn't even complete the movie due to its long duration.

And HBOmax doesn't count the subs outside the US. It also doesn't count PVOD.

That's one of the many reasons out there to proof that WB are just being biased..
I don't think they also came up with same analyses of those who finished seeing WW84 and GvK the way WB and haters are doing on Zack's JL.
Just like I spent roughly 2days to finish GvK coz to me the story was meh! For me, fantastic actions need to match fantastic story.

Even those that rate the movie from Rotten Tomato audience score were way more than 25000+, compare to GvK 5000+ (and with a 95% like for JL to a 91% like for GvK) still they say people didn't turn up for JL...lol....
One thing I know concerning movie is the higher the buzz and great words of mouth the higher the chances of that movie performing well in numbers, and going by that I don't think any movie of recent days (like from the past 5yrs) had a better words of mouth and buzz than JL, aside Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame (and probably few movies I may missed).

I feel ZSJL was massive globally but in the US it was rather tame in comparison to worldwide craze and hype. The numbers I'm seeing for Q1 2021 while impressive I'm not impressed. The massive hype and noise fans made online simply means it didn't translate to serious subs.

Cos what I was expecting was 5 million+ to 8million new subs with a Release slate of The Little Things, Judas and The Black Messiah and ZSJL. Still with those big titles just 2.8 million. No wonder WB no even waste their time to announce sequels. But WW84 got sequel within 3 days.

Even WW84 you peeps are claiming ZSJL beats by miles had 3.2 million subs in its Q4 debut in HBOMax. HBOMax was doing less than 1 million subs(about 400k) in previous quarter before December(Q4).

Even this new 2.8 million subs number, I feel was slightly enhanced by GvK cos people would have to subscribe in time just before Premiere and on actual day. PS: Q2 will truly show GvK's numbers if truly had impact or not.

I'm not basing my submissions with what I feel or think should be. Also my opinions was formed from numerous data and numbers from different sources I've checked online. AT &T numbers only just corroborate what was previously suspected.

In essence I feel it's ONLY fans who turned up for ZSJL not the average moviegoer who felt indifferent.

Anyway sha time will tell what really happened, whether it's a BIG cover-up or public project to malign someone or not, time always reveal the truth in due course. Whether na next few months or 2-3 years we go surely know.

Cos I find it funny say EVERYBODY in the industry want to punish and malign just a single person who's also part of them, like say na govt official. So CNBC, Ampere, Nielsen, Forbes, TV Time and all tracking companies are on a massive global conspiracy to malign ONE PERSON. With the poor word of mouth and review bombing some peculiar MCU fans did with Captain Marvel whereby RT had to take down reviews hundreds if not thousands of reviews, didn't Captain Marvel make 1billion +.

Real fans with vote with their money (in this case subs) not fans making noise or ranting online with trending hashtags. The real power is with the MONEY. Funny enough the SOLE reason you're seeing a SnyderCut is cos WM needed subscribers for HBOMax not necessarily for altruism or whatever.


I feel the US market wasn't all that enamored for ZSJL. In the numerous interactions I observed in social media during ZSJL Release, I found out that mostly dedicated fans were the ones with raving reviews, average movie fans had little positivity or were indifferent towards it. Some were even annoying to the point of calling it same movie with few added scenes.
And one peculiar trait I noticed in the discussions was that most of the fans who raved or gave it glowing reviews weren't even from the US. They were mostly Asians. India(mostly), Thailand and Indonesia were the ones with

With these few observations of mine I can say the data we've been seeing for a while are in tandem or stay true pertaining to the US. Also the HBOMax numbers we're arguing about is US only, not worldwide where there's no HBOMax to gauge it's success.

If there was massive success (which I suspect happened but in other regions separate from US) the true beneficiaries will mostly be the distributors who circulated the movie (Bookmyshow, Sky, Now, Crave, Prime Video, Play Store, Binge, etc) and not WB. WB lost out on such HYPE with their failure to launch globally HBOMax and had to rely on third parties. This IS the sole reason I believe Snyderverse is being delayed/overlooked.

Things would have been much better if HBOMax just waited and release it when it had already launched in Latin America at least. Lost opportunity especially when you factor in the extra $70million they shelled for completion.

Captain Marvel crossed 1b in box office because of the back-to-back hit MCU has had over the time, and also the manner at which it was teased. She was teased like the messiah and also people thought there will actually be a continuation from Infinity War.
There will always be a benefit of doubt even when you put a mediocre movie for people to see if your previous movies had been steeling.
Bro, there are many non-Snyder fans who gave his cut good reviews and praises. No movie that doesn't have bad reviews, but the truth is so so many people love his cut and it was highly reflected in the way audience responded on social media after seeing it.

First of all, it wasn't said that people didn't turn up.

Secondly, comments on SM or tweets doesn't translate to real live interest.

For example, pu7pl3, Abduleez1 and hulk have several monikers. Let's say 10 each.

Now each of them used their 10 different monikers to say they are going to watch solo movie. That will translate to 30 comments, right? But in reality only 3 people are going to watch it.

That's why tweets, comments doesn't really showcase the true financial stance of a movie.

Another example is Spiderman far from home and Aquaman. SFFH had more YouTube views, retweets, higher scores, more RT comments than Aquaman. It even had a re-release.

But at the end, Aquaman is still a financial success than SFFH.

Financials is a totally different ball game entirely.
