Thanks for this piece. You can as well guide us, we just want to start application from scratch.

Zodiacwarrior:
Regarding this issue of agent or no agent am not discriminating them but when an agent tells you things that seems out of the blue to you it is your responsibility to find out and make research if what she says is true or not.

I have a female friend she applied to University of Manitoba and she went to meet an agent today and he told her that it was mandatory for her sponsor to have 50million in the account and hers 10million, on top of that she said immigration now mandates IELTS exams without that one won't be able to enter border.

Was like what, is this is there another ircc requirements I don't know of, so please let's be guided as to avoid unnecessary ban or denial as this can affect one not only physically but mentally.

Am not discriminating agents but the bad ones has stained that sector which makes it impossible to discern good ones. so if you are using an agent please research the whole requirements first even if it's a tiny bit of information it could go a long way.

And again if you pay an agent a huge amount don't leave everything to him continue to research come to an agreement with him to release your gckey and password to you monitor it yourself to avoid any information that could deal a fatal blow.

My agent labeled me Mr inquisitive cause I was researching checking myself and all he never checked it but I thank God all went well.

information is unlimited and we can all successfully call ourself mini agents cause some has successfully applied and been given some still need agents not because they don't know how to apply but because they need someone to interact with physically and willing to give them their time through out the process.

Finally do your research first irrespective of agents or not and I am positive that those who have applied or waiting for a positive response would get it by God's grace.

Hope this helps.

As the gurus have suggested with my own advice the first step is to do your research okay you wanna apply for an undergraduate or post graduate you definitely know you would apply for visa.

What next you go to ircc portal everything is there the requirements to present the proof of funds to show. If you are still not satisfied you can come to nairaland this place is like a Haven for visa information read and read know the requirements as there are sections that list requirements how to write sops everything you need nairaland has it.

After arming yourself with information you can know proceed further if you are still not convinced on applying yourself and want to use an agent fine it makes the whole process easier as you can discern if what the agent is telling you makes sense or not if he knows his deal or not.

First of all arm yourself with information knowledge is power.

Check out the requirements above.

Hope this helps.

Good evening, everyone. Please, my fiance is planning to relocate to Canada to for postgraduate study, we've met some persons(agents) and make enquiry but they kept saying that Canada isn't accepting people for now, that is Canada isn't issuing visa now till further notice and they gave option of UK. But, from the comment s read so far I understand that some persons have been accepted even this year while some are processing. So, I'm confuse if the agents lied and do not know what to do. Please, can someone enlighten me and guide us. Please help....

Thanks.

The agent probably told you guys that because Canadian Visa has become really difficult to obtain compared to a few years back when agents practically had to do nothing for their clients to obtain their visas.

Nowadays, the right and proper documents alone to apply with are discovered by a few people after trial by error applications.

My candid advice: If you have the time and resources you can achieve success in your Canadian quest by staying put on this thread, because every info you’d need for a successful outcome can be gotten from here free of charge.

But if you do not have the time, or patience required for this process, then you might want to consider their UK option.

But definitely Canada is still issuing visas, they never stopped, not even during the lockdown/pandemic.

###### LONG POST ALERT ######

It’s Testimony Time

Guys, I wish to share my success story in order to encourage others who have been delayed. First of all, I thank Mr. Frankrobbn1, Mr. JustMellow, Mr. Lekiboboe, and other contributors for their selfless services here. I also appreciate some people who have been trying to answer questions in the absence of the gurus, but most times your answers are wrong and misleading.

Secondly, I like to thank Mr. Frankrobbn1 again because he made efforts to ensure I get approved this time, after 2 previous attempts. He is truly a guru. From the choice of course, to choosing the University, including review of LOE & IMM forms, with covering all possible refusal technicalities in my LOE. I appreciate your help, Mr. Frankrobbn1, Almighty Allah will bless you.

1st Application - Online (Did it myself)

- Course: Post-Bachelor Certificate in Accounting.
- School: University of Lethbridge, Alberta
- Sponsorship: Self
- Application submitted – October 9, 2019
- Application refused – November 6, 2019
- Refusal reasons: Family ties and Employment situation

2nd Application - Online (Done by a Canadian Immigration Lawyer)

- Course: Post-Bachelor Certificate in Accounting.
- School: University of Lethbridge, Alberta
- Sponsorship: Self
- Application submitted – November 29, 2019
- Application refused – January 28, 2020
- Refusal reasons: Family ties and Purpose of visit
- GCMS Notes: No evidence on file of PA’s acceptance to Master of Accounting as stated (VO made a mistake here and we pointed it out in the new LOE), and the Applicant’s plans of study appear vague and poorly documented.

3rd (Approved) Application - Online (With all NSE documents)

- Course changed to: Master of Management – International Accounting & Finance
- School changed to: University of Windsor, Ontario
- Sponsorship: Self
- Intake: September 2021, but was changed to May 2021 while my application was in progress
- Application submitted – February 10, 2021
- Submission confirmation – February 10, 2021
- Upfront medical approved – February 16, 2021
- Eligibility review started – February 17, 2021
- Ghost update 1 – February 24, 2021
- Ghost update 2 – February 26, 2021
- Ghost update 3 – March 3, 2021 (GCMS shows that LOA was confirmed this date)
- New LOA for May 2021 – March 19, 2021, sent via IRCC & Kenya Webforms March 20
- Follow-up emails – Started March 22, 2021, twice a week to Kenya, later to London, and Beijing.
- Email acknowledgement – Received once only from Kenya on March 22 with application still in process. I realized there are 2 types of acknowledgements: (1) Active review: if you receive this, then your application is not almost finalized yet, (2) In process: this means your application is in advanced stage.
- Ordered GCMS notes (through a colleague in Canada, I think it’s faster this way) – March 31, 2021
- PPR & BVL Received – April 12, 2021
- Passport received by VFS Abuja – April 15, 2021
- Passport stamped and Counterfoil received – April 15, 2021
- UPS picked up passport – April 15, 2021
- LOI received – April 16, 2021
- UPS delivered passport – April 19, 2021
- GCMS received – April 19, 2021
- Application Visa Office: Nairobi Primary & Windsor Secondary, but application was finalized by Lagos. PPR & LOI came from Lagos.

Lessons learnt:
(1) Career progression is very important,
(2) Significance of fund and its accessibility cannot be over emphasized,
(3) Home ties carry heavy weight, especially family/economic/volunteering, etc
(4) Travel history is an added advantage for matured students like me (40+), Lagos VO acknowledged this in the GCMS notes.

Canada is accepting applications for study permit and as you can see on this thread people have been applying and are getting PPR, though due to the pandemic there has been a lot of set backs with processing times being 20 weeks or more, but Canada is still actively reviewing and accepting and issuing study permits, if you need a very good and reliable agent to work with you can send me a message as this platform is a dIY group

(2) Do not disturb IRCC office if your application has not exceeded processing time or your resumption date is not approaching or your tuition payment deadline is not due soon
(3) It seems Airlines from India & Pakistan aren’t allowed to enter Canada now, so IRCC may shift attention to the Applications from Nigeria, please get set for your good news
(4) Endeavour to go the way of NSE
(5) I feel sad when I read negative comments about Nigeria here, please let’s stop it. It will come to haunt you or other Nigerians. Every country has her challenges, please let’s speak well of our country

My little piece of advice.

Please, endeavor to read many, if not all, of the previous posts on this Canada student visa application Nairaland.

I discovered that questions are repeated so many times because prospective applicants do not take their time to go through many of the previous posts. When I started out, I wasn't asking questions because I ensured I looked through many of the posts on this platform. Hence, if I ever asked a question, it had to be unique/new. You will find that answers to many, if not all, of the questions being asked have been answered sufficiently in previous posts.

Secondly, I really have to acknowledge and respect the effort of those who are taking their time to help others. Honestly, helping people does not come easy... It requires sacrifice and some amount of effort. Even when your effort isn't perfect and when you make mistakes, the good thing is that you are not alone, and there are people who help balance out the mistakes you have made. So, you deserve great respect.

I know that once my visa gets approved, I will leave this platform. But while I'm still here, I will continue to appreciate all of you. Stay blessed and enjoy your weekend.

Hello House,

Please I wanna round up my study permit application today. Is it wrong to include my sibling’s passports that have already expired in my application. Cause I’m thinking of using that instead of birth certificates ?

Hello everyone

I just realized one should also mention previous refusal in other countries in one’s new application,
Although, I mentioned the refusal I had in Canada but didn’t know I should mention the one I had in US in my new application too,

1. is there a way I can address this mistake to IRCC?
2. Do I need to wait for their response first before addressing it to them?
3. How severe can this mistake affect my application?

I re-applied in early March without NSE documents and no upfront medical, no update yet though

[b]IMMEDIATELY send an email to IRCC notifying them that you want to withdraw the application and tell them the mistake was the reason for withdrawal. After that you can reapply. Canada share info with US. They'll surely discover your US refusal and you're 99.9% likely to be banned from entry into Canada for 5yrs. Take this seriously. It may be the end of your Canadian dream.

Yes. The other way is to wait for a s.40 procedural fairness letter from IRCC, followed by a 5yrs ban.

Dude, why are you dishing out this misleading info so fervently like this? All the applicant needs to do is to submit a webform with a letter of explanation and a new IMM 1294e. There's definitely no need to withdraw the application.
