I would have been more interested in Buhari either shaking restructuring or resignation.I wish his loyalists would tell him to choose one.

naptu2:
When did Buhari say. "Madam senator, how are you"? Get a headset and listen.
Ok seen it properly bt he still interrupted maybe not intentionally since he was tapped to move.

Thank you. Now we've gotten to the two points that I want to bring out:

1) Pantami did not block Buhari to stop him from shaking Tinubu. They would both not have shaken hands even if he wasn't there.

2) Pantami (a mere minister) cannot block Buhari from shaking Tinubu if Buhari wanted to.

I agree to some extent. Assuming the 1st greeting was assumed sufficient by pantami which isn’t exactly abnormal.

Pantami didn't force any damn thing. Everybody has got eyes. After Buhari greeted the first man on the line he came face to face with Remi Tinubu. Either of President Buhari or Mrs Tinubu could have extended a hand for a handshake. Neither did. Pantami was the host and it was his duty to introduce the people on the line. Mrs Tinubu and President Buhari had already spoken. Someone touched Pantami from behind that he should move aside so they could take pictures. He turned round and then introduced the next person on the queue.

This is just a repition of an attempt that was made in 2019. This happened in November 2019 and several threads were created that claimed that President Buhari does not shake women. The same claim was made in 2015. Pantami was only included this time because he's the one trending at the moment. He did not block anybody. Watch the video again. Besides, do you seriously believe that Pantami could have blocked Buhari if Buhari wanted to shake Mrs Tinubu? Seriously?
Damn bro! God bless you. Who is anybody to stop Buhari from shaking anyone. I never know

Is this some kind of stylish counter-thread?

Was he elected to be shaking hands of FEMALES?

Is that also part of the dividends of democracy?
I don't just understand. huh

He does.
If you do not put your hands forward for the handshake, he may assume you aren’t interested based on your own principle

This is absolute nonsense.
How does who the president choose to hand shake concern me?

I want good governance, some people are crying on how Buhari didn’t shake Remi Tinubu.
If pantani is around he doesn't shake hands.

So the conclusion (facts) at the end of this thread are:

1) President Buhari does shake hands with women and has done so many times.

2) Pantami did not block Buhari from shaking Remi Tinubu.

3) Pantami cannot block Buhari from shaking hands with Remi Tinubu if Buhari wanted to.

4) Some people asking why I wrote something that's so long (actually, those posts are a combination of many posts that were made between 2015 and 2019)

5) Some people saying that it's irrelevant (yet the same people are still discussing this same issue on the other thread).

6) A few people (the usual suspects grin) with ad hominen rubbish.

This happened way back in November 2019 ( it was at the E-Nigeria International Conference, Award and Exhibition and the minister was the chief host) and there were many threads about it on Nairaland.
Let me start by commending you. You're one of the few that knows what research is. It's a rarity. Keep it up.

Now to the issue, if you watch Pantami's body language, he appears to be subtly shielding Buhari.
This apparently is what Wendell Simlin is referring to.

Read through the thread. That question has already been answered. Read all the posts till you get to this one.

Ah sorry oh.

I glanced at the topic because it was YOU. Even commended you for research.

If you took the time to respond, you could at least take the time to post the "explanation".

Whatever the "explanation" was/is, it does not change the fact that Pantami appears to be shielding Buhari.

Ah! Ah!

My goodness! What's so hard in reading through the thread and what's wrong in asking someone to read through the thread. Something was explained over the course of an interaction between 3 people, what's wrong in asking someone to read through, so that they can see the contributions and arguments of the 3 people and be able to make up their mind?

Naptu2, time is an essential commodity. I saw it was you, I clicked because in my opinion you are a good researcher.

No way I'm going through the entire thread when I already got the gist. I simply left an observation and if there was a correction, a simple link would have been fine.

Being told to go through the thread over an observation (not a statement of fact) rubbed me the wrong way.

My apologies if I over reacted.
U are twisting the argument. This isn’t about Buhari we know Buhari shakes women and if he didn’t we wouldn’t mind it’s his prerogative as a president so obasanjo also does no wrong. It cud be for security reasons who knows.

Our concern here is pantami stopping or forcing the president to not do what he normally does. That is very questionable behavior.

Don’t twist the argument, ure not that slick.

Dude sm1 tapped pantami from behind truely bt he blocked Remi and directed the president to other people. That is exactly what happened.

It was Buhari who had to awkwardly turn again to remi to greet her nevertheless with a nod in other not to seem like he disregarded her b4 he shook the man pantami directed him to.

It may be nothing bt it doesn’t seem right for official standards.
naptu2:
Get headsets and listen to what was said. Remi had already curtsied to Buhari the first time and spoken to him before Pantami came in between them when he was turning. That was before the man tapped him. Buhari was face to face with Remi at that time. If you notice, she curtsied twice. The first time she was face to face with him and the second time he had to look back at her.

There is no way that Pantami would have been able to block Buhari from shaking Remi if he wanted to. In fact, it was when Pantami realised that they were not going to shake that he positioned himself so that he could introduce the next man to Buhari.
Why then did Buhari awkwardly turn to greet her again? because pantami interrupted intentionally or unintentionally. I know remi by culture may not want to shake Buhari bt still pantami was inappropriate. Period.

Infact the 1st time remi greeted Buhari, pantami was still greeting the president so he actually disregarded remi. It’s very bad of him.
naptu2:
That's it! The question you should ask is, why did Remi and Buhari not exchange handshakes the first time, when they were face to face? Buhari turned because she spoke again. That's when she said, "Very well sir". They could have extended their hands when they were face to face during the first exchange of "Good morning sir" and "Madam senator, how are you", but they didn't and that's when Buhari moved on and Pantami also repositioned himself. Then Remi replied, so Buhari had to look back.
naptu2:
Transcript of what was said in the video.

Buhari: “Honourable minister. Good morning.”

(We can’t hear what Pantami says)

Buhari shakes the hand of the first man in the line without saying anything to him.

Remi Tinubu: “Good morning sir” (and she curtsies)

Buhari: “Madam senator. How are you?”

Remi Tinubu: “Very well sir” (and she curtsies again)

Pantami points to the next man in the line and says: “This is our chairman Senate committee on . . .”

Pantami’s voice is drowned out by the voices of photographers and security men who are jostling for space: “Kai! This man pushed me on you, what is it?”
No u are wrong! When remi greeted 1st time, pantami and Buhari we’re still greeting. Buhari cud not have responded, then pantami blocks her and directs him to other men and she greets again when Buhari has to awkwardly turn and greet her properly. Pantami didn’t care.
naptu2:
When did Buhari say. "Madam senator, how are you"? Get a headset and listen. Remember that Buhari shook another man after greeting Pantami and before greeting Tinubu.
