Things are getting very bad, getting seriously out of hand. Isn't there a way we can invite contractors or colonial powers to help? We can't just keep deceiving ourselves to be a big country, we need outside hands to stabilize this situation.

In fact, at this point, all infrastructure construction and non essential expenses in Nigeria should be suspended and money channelled to security
.
This is not possible.

Nigerian military was not the only military in Liberia and Sierra Leone.

Was the performance of the Nigerian army like this in Sierra Leone and Liberia?

It isn't only Nigerian army in the north east too, we have Niger, Chad and Cameroon too.

In matters of National emergency, it is very possible to halt all non-essential findings to finance the military.
This isn't even a case of funding, it is just a silly excuse.

And we don't have the millions of dollars

Only one division cater for Sokoto, Kebbi, Zamfara and Kwara. Very large expanse of land with compromised security already.
Kwara is under 2 division. Sokoto is where the HQ of 8 division is located and kebbi is under 8th division. Zamfara is under 1 division.

The little the defence sector is getting how judicious are they making use of it? It's one thing to pour money into defence and another to make sure it is properly accounted for, if not we will just be sinking funds in a bottomless pit enriching a few at the expense of the nation. Upon all the hews and cries we had about corruption under GEJ wrt to military spendings one would have thought that things would have drastically change for the better, only for the NSA to hit us with a bombshell that the $1bn gov't took from the ECA to fund the military some of the funds can't be accounted for, yet you have a PADI PADI national assembly that cleared the past Chiefs for ambassadorial appointment only to summon the new COAS to come defend the spendings done under his predecessors few weeks into his tenure, isn't it madness? We shouldn't halt economic activities which includes building of infrastructures around the country because we are fighting insurgency, even during the civil war economic activities weren't brought to a halt in entire country, Moreover if we don't find ways to generate income we won't be able to prosecute the war. In summary there is a nexus between security and the economy, they're not mutually exclusive.

Question is, can Nigeria do it?

Nigeria can very well do it, but Nigeria will not do it. They will instead prefer to buy equipment that are not urgently needed.

Why? What is the use of new roads when you will be killed by a terrorist on that road?

New college and you'll get kidnapped after attending lectures.

Sri Lanka has ended terrorism, making it the first country in the modern age to have done so.

In military circles around the world, the “Sri Lankan Option” for counter-insurgency is discussed with admiration. Its basic tenets are:

- Deny access to the media
- Deny access to the United Nations
- Deny access to human rights groups
- Isolate your opponents and kill them as quickly as possible
- Segregate and terrify the survivors—or, ideally, leave no witnesses at all

Should we do this to the enemies of Nigeria? i.e; ISWAP, IPOB, Bandits, Boko Haram and their Sponsors?

Our constitution would have to be temporarily suspended... Are we really ready to end all of this NONSENSE?

Oh I remember , we will need to isolate the president himself, that man has no balls. O blame Old age.

Remember Nigeria isn't Sri lanka. And also remember it took Sri Lanka close to 30years to be able to deal with the Tamil Tiger Rebel Group. Lastly the situation in Nigeria is far different to that of Sri lanka

In the first place it is the search of a strong man that Nigeria got itself into this level of mess. Suspend the constitution and watch the nation disintegrate. Sri-Lanka it's not as ethnically and religiously diverse as Nigeria, what worked there most likely won't work here. We should come up with a homegrown national defense policy that is peculiar to our clime, build and strengthen our Institution, so that they can function properly, then the 1999 constitution which was hurriedly drafted by a few khaki boys should be revisited and tweaked to reflect our realities, it should be truly a constitution based on "We the people".

Oh I remember , we will need to isolate the president himself, that man has no balls. O blame Old age.
The President lacks the political will and to a great extent the competence to address some of the security issues we are facing it has nothing to do with old age, the prime minister of Malaysia is almost 93 and he showing leadership, same for Biden 78 & Nana Akufo 77.

Unless we all want to continue deceiving our selves, the cabals, presidency and elites know what they are doing. None of this is happening by mistake or coincidence, there silence and romance with terrors and extremists, bombardment of land troop, bombardment of idp camp, equipment hijack, incapability of all security apparatus from A -Z, i can tell you for free that none is by mistake.

I only pity the soldiers that are being sacrificed on daily basis.

Before anything will work, this current people in govt (cabals) have to be kicked out, they're enablers.

Exactly, a new constitution to reflect our diversity and prevent our breaking apart.

Many people don't know that Nigeria's breaking apart would be far worse than they think. It wouldn't be three countries, not even four. Everyone would cash in to have his own state. This would lead to severe ethnic and civil clashes to gain more territory. The Niger Delta would suffer heaviest as everyone would battle for the oil fields. BH/ISWAP would cash in too.

In short, only God knows how many people will die before colonial powers will come in with fighter jets to unite us by force.

Why can't the DSS secretly assassinate these political class responsible for this menace. Politicians brought in and armed thugs prior to the 2015 elections. Imagine Patami bragging and soilders are dying, Gumi and myettei herders association threating a country. If transparency and justice ruled over nepotism, who born them? Nepotism ruined us.

The national assembly that should be doing this have only sat for 14 days this year, now more than ever they should be having emergency sittings..I wish this bandit's or the rest would hit them hard!

I knew we didn't have leadership during the #Endsars. If government had stepped in earlier during that period, things wouldn't have been this bad. Secondly, how can only love a country that hoarded indomie from them.

Its more likely it'd not surface again for a while till ISWAP wants to pull another surprise by guile and then we retake.

Best scenario will be an airstrike OR SFs track and go after them.

how far the offensive sef, what's the update?
Re: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by Odunayaw(m): 3:52pm On Apr 27, 2021
If I were the COAS/CDS, I'd commence a simultaneous training for fresh NCOs and rotation for every soldier/NCO in the deep space for the next three months. Gradually up to July fresh bodies should be in theatre

In the mean time I'd stand up platoons or a company in every battalion/brigade that'd serve as shock troops. You'd notice every time the NA goes on the offensive, it takes a long time to muster up due to the size of the force and the likes. But what is needed is relentless domination of the battle space, if it isn't deep into the battle space, at least at the peripherals of each Super camp.

This shock troop will be self sustained for at least 7 days patrol at a time.

This war has seen many phases of adaptation by the enemy. However the most prominent reason why these beasts have time to adapt is the NA's allowance of time and space
