Am i totally wrong

Don't get me wrong, I am not blaming the boys but the superior officers that dont kit them well

The only times these guts are well kitted is when they go for foreign training and pose for pictures. Apart from that, its rare to see them fully kitted.

In fact, I am beginning to believe any NA regular can just wear that black t-shirt and call himself SF
Upon all Kabe1 and Bidexii has done for this thread in terms of pictures? Agenda must agend.

Anyway sha, there is proliferation of the cloth and word SF in NA (maybe because of COIN training) but we know who the real Men are

Nairaland, where pple make claims.
Some of na specials are, AHQSG , I no longer hear about em just appointment of some officers there.
Then we have the 707sf.. these guys aren't joking around, we ve seen em participate in international exercise...
We have a unbelievable number of SF battalions stamped out of nothing in just a short time. SF is always about quality not quantity.

Odunayaw:
Kit, yes (Except NN). Training; how do we ascertain that? They've not been found wanting in battle neither in international exercise.

All SFs are not SAS or Green Berets with worldwide mandate. With much more investment in kits and even brains (for SF Control and Command) they can only go up from where they are.

AND, it takes at least 6 months to train any SF in any of the 3 services. NN has the longest
Well, I may want to agree with you on the first bolded comment, the second volded comment is what we are clamoring for. What is worth doing is worth doing well. I am not in any way comparing our SF to the SAS or DEVGRU unit but at least, let them be well funded to tackle our immediate National Security concerns.

And please what is the deal with taking out soldeirs to Bulgaria, Serbia etc for SF training? Do they have terrorism concerns like ours over there? You see my point now

Kit is dressing fit for purpose. Meanwhile, go back into past photos

I think those Eastern countries is just for exposure to global best practices for SF. Some TTPs are universal

All understrength battalions. A Bn of SF doesn't have the same number of men in regular infantry units. Hence you see some have Majors as their OC

I remember reading a report then of 72SF Bn then stating they had less than 200men

We don;t have SF and I have said it times without number on other threads. Those guys masquerading as SF after 3 - 4 months "rush rush" training are not SF. SF soldiers take at least 6 - 9 months to train (at least because in some countries, it takes 2 years). Besides, our SF are poorly funded (only the NAF tries in this regard) but the NA SF is an eyesore.

Sounds a lot like conspiracy theories. France appear to lose with Deby's death but it raises a whole lot of questions why didn't they intervene and allow Deby to go to the front if those reports are true, why would they when they could easily halt the advancing rebel column with precision strikes. It might be a game of cards to complicate matters for Abuja in the war or Abuja knows something and would prefer a new leadership in N'djamena. Niger knows its future lies with Nigeria not France a declining power. This whole thing could get some perspective if Nigeria decide it's time to end French hegemony of Francophone West Africa and it can but with a war on its hands it might not be prudent to do so now rather maybe better to employ clandestine means and ECOWAS mechanisms like the Eco currency to achieve those ends. It can also guarantee presidential security for pliant states. That is one way to weed these states off France.
How, sir? Just a quick outline, pls.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I haven't heard of their camps being overrun or European soldiers SM complaints of missing basic kit and terrible command performance.
How will they have such issues when they hardly even do the needful. It's more like do your thing and I do mine. Secondly, the terrorist there are still learning compared to what we have here.

Am not trying to defend Nigerian Army stupidity though. They are the worst of the armed forces in Nigeria.

iSWAP to all intents and purposes have the appearance of enhanced services of Spec Ops advisors. The forces in this war are not taking anything for granted. They want a weak Nigeria. The pattern of attacks, carefully crafted and choice of attacks is not average in military terms. The Nigerian military should be commended for its efforts not pilloried. More to come.

Or

Why do people think normal terms apply to SF?
An SF "battalion" is never any such as understood by an infantry battalion.
4 sections of x men form a platoon; 4 platoons of x men form a company; 4 companies of x men form a battalion.

In SF that could be 70 men forming a battalion.

Just saying.

SF is another ball game their training never ends , even during deployment during CT ops they undergo training as per feedback after every mission. No idea on their training during peacetime deployment , but Afaik it is intensive, even more than during CT deployment . They have to be kept busy come what may
Thank you for your input. I was talking of the initial training before you join the unit fully.

Nothing awkward at all. The SAS Regiment, the grandpapa of all SF units, has never had the numbers that make up a "regiment".
Re: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by Nobody: 5:28am On Apr 29, 2021
Truth be told, NA, NN and NAF are all ill-equipped and poorly trained. It's so disgusting when you compare how they kit with even other Africa Countries' Army like South Africa, Egypt, Algeria and so on.

What happened recently really snapped me out. Still recovering from the Shock of Nigeria Army Incompetence. We lost gallant Men due to avoidable Mistakes.

Most of Men in the Army ain't there because they are more patriotic than us, rather as a Mean of Livelihood. Lack of Jobs make most Nigerians enlist in the Army.

Police is the worse of it. I am not even sure those Ragtags are trained all. How can a Security Man look so unfit? Pot belly, dirty Uniform, worn out Shoes and so on. They are only well trained at extorting innocent people.

If you've been to East and South South, you would ask yourself why mounting countless Road blocks when there wasn't Unrest? Years back, when I was a Salesman/Supplier, always found it uneasy traveling down to East and South South, coz I would be so extorted by both Police and Army on the Road.

From Onitsha to Owerri was hellish. I changed Route to Warri to Ahoda, then cut to Owerri, still the same. I had to give up on the Job because of Frustrations.

Security Architecture need complete overhauling. Corruption has eaten so deep that the Architecture is rotten away. Nigeria is losing it, the earlier we accept the Truth the better.

When one give a contrary perspective to government position automatically one is seen as a sympathiser of Kanu or IPOB. I have always condemned his utterances, neither have I supported his quest for Biafra am not even from the South east. What IPOB is today is because of the highhandedness of PMB and the military in the first place before they took up arms they were shot point blank, this same army used acids on many of them just for waving flags, we warned that this will only harden them, we should learn to offer political solutions rather than the military options to certain issues. Now they've taken up arms if you ask them they will say the army kills them without holding any arms that it is better for them to die fighting with weapons as they have nothing to lose. We are now stuck in a bubble, same way Bokoharam started and we refused to learn.
Funny thing you said, can you tell us any country in the world you can easily import arms in large numbers unchecked?
You are not even seeing where military intelligence failed you are basically scratching the surface, now let me teach you how sensible countries like Sri Lanka operate;

They bomb the living hell out of you then deny you access to arms, what will you fight back with? stone?? Stop sugar coating failure, a country with no consequence management is completely finished!! That is the biggest problem of this administration & many before it.

Who is charge of those MRAPS ISWAP took?
what contingency plan was made for scenarios like this & was it activated quick enough?
Where is the Pilot that bombed our soldiers?
Let me guess, they are making calls to big men to save their arses then you wonder why we sink lower.

There is nothing to negotiate with IPOB, a Lunatic went on air to spew tribal rubbish then you negotiate with him for what?
He wants a country, really? where was his father when the Likes of Zik, Awo, Balewa et al was dealing with Britain?

Can you tell Abraham Lincoln or Churchill you want to negotiate out of the United States? Nigeria is basically accommodating demented individuals that are better off in Rehab or deleted, where did ESN get guns from? DSS has no clue!!
How did it get to the SE from the ports of entry? no clue!!

So we position that we wont negotiate, open borders for all & sundry to get arms then complain of insecurity, isn't that madness?
The good part is that the people who fail to do their jobs are the first victims of this nonsense.
