First Bank just collect 339 naira for 1canadian dollar from my account through form A payment. Please house how much is CBN rate for 1canadian dollar now so that I will know what to do next. Is there anybody that pay through form A recently, if yes please how much did the bank charge you.

Note that CBN only sells USD for this purpose. However, the bank purchases the USD from you and remit in the currency on your invoice. In this case CAD.

I used form A in mid January, as at then USD rate from the CBN was 395.50 and CAD equivalent was 316.46. However as at yesterday CBN USD rate was 412 and dollar equivalent was 330. So I guess it's fair.

Best of luck.

My thoughts on this. Were the conditions below part of the terms of the transaction at the onset?

I understand the fear of charge back related to card transactions. But did the guy use card for payment? If not, then he cannot recall it if the school has confirmed receipt of the transaction.

The guy has parted with his funds and he's been held to new sets of conditions that we not agreed.

I have done several transaction with people that I engage to make transfers abroad and then make payment into account that they specify, usually, its different from their name.

In conclusion, contact your school and find out the necessary information about the transaction and refund policy, when you are satisfied the funds can't be returned, pay the guy as he has indicated or instructed

PS....I am not connected to the guy in anyway, my independent opinion.

justwise:

Don’t pay to any account that does not match his name on the passport. He also need to send you his Canadian residency details that matches his name on the passport .

He has no power or influence on your visa application or the school.

Pay him immediately he supplies those details.

Keep your school informed about potential fraud involving that payment.

Sorry bro. Was this the number you called? 0815 019 9900. I called that number before i sent mine to confirm the biometric slip isshh, twice, and they picked and responded quite well. I used UPS too so shouldnt be a courier problem. Please call them again today. All the best bro.

Psychosocial:
Please guys, I need help o.

My PPR package has been refused twice by the VAC, without any reason at all. I enclosed my passport along with all the required documents, and proof of payment of the Transmission Fee, and addressed it to the Abuja VAC office. I paid for a return-courier via UPS. Funny thing is the package easn't even opened before it was refused, so I cannot know what the exact problem is. Even reaching the VAC by phone is almost impossible because the call goes off once you select the option of speaking with an agent. The email I sent when the package was refused initially has still not been replied. This is quite a strange case.

Apart from trying a different courier service, is there anything I can do differently??

P.S.... I know you're with the guy, I haven't seen you post anything till today. You said we not agreed. Meaning you're involved. Bro just forget it. Let him just reverse it.

That was typographical error on his part. (we not agreed was meant to be were not agreed)

I understand his point though.

You should get in touch with the school and make some enquiries, while letting them know what has happened.

The Bursary department in the school will be able to guide you better.

I will advise you to be very careful.

Hi Adesunloye

I want to believe all is well. This happened to me back in February when my eligibility review that started in November went back to "we will let you know when we start reviewing your eligibility". I ordered for a gcms note instantly and after sending several mail/webform it changed to "We are now reviewing..." but I think that was two weeks after or so. I received the note after it had been reversed in my GCKey but I noticed the eligibility section in my note was blank (my first note had previously shown recommend interview).

Just keep sending mail/webform to them but don't be too worried. In this race, what the eligibility shows on your portal should be the least of your problem, instead pray & hope for a positive outcome.

adesunloye11:
good day, please i noticed my eligibility change from we are ''reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements'' on the 19th of April back to '' you application is in progress. hope all is well with my application? thanks

I have answered this question on several occasions. When filling your study permit application form, the column that ask about your tution should be filled for the first year tution fees, Room and board = 10,000CAD, Others = 2,000CAD. Funds available for my stay = the tuition deposit plus the funds in your account and the amount your sponsor is committed to give to you for your studies.

This company is nothing but garbage. I tried purchasing dollars to make a payment and the equivalent was deducted from my account almost immediately. I also received an email from them stating my transaction was successful. However on my app, it said my transaction was not successful and I will be refunded. This was on the 21st April . I was told my account has been refunded. Today is the 28th of April and there has been no refunded. Never again. Refund my money so I can delete your useless app you bunch of thieves stealing money from innocent people. Why do I have I have to wait 13 days to receive my money if truly it has been refunded. Please gurus, I need a last minute verification.

I am actually doing this myself but I wish to make a strong application without loopholes, however I am confused as to the POF requirement.
My profile,
I am getting 4m transferred from a fixed deposit of three months.
My confusion:
Upon collapse of the fixed deposit, my sponsor's account which the money will pass through to get to mine is not really active and as such, has less than 100k therein. I've been advised to show the transactional page, but then again, the stated page will still show the account balance.

On the other hand, my sponsor also has another account with a steady monthly inflow of 270k but with low balance as well having just concluded a project.

My question.
A. Can the three months Certificate of fixed deposit suffice?
B. If not, do I have to now show the other Account statement in order to prove steady inflows for the sponsor's upkeep? Or is it unnecessary?

Note: I am showing my BS too to reflect the receipt of the money, and that will be the substantial money therein.

Also, I am just accounting for living expenses as my tuition fees are already sorted out my sponsor is my mother.

I"ll also appreciate somebody vetting my SOP. Please, don't ghost me o

Concerning Number 3 . Does this mean we will mail the imm form to IRCC after filling the form?

Frankrobbn1:

See my responses below;

1. A bank statement showing inflow and outflow of funds for the past six (6) months should suffice. Also, include a MyBank Statement Certificate containing the ticket ID and password duly addressed to the Canadian embassy for verification. Please note that you're to include relevant documents which demonstrates your sponsor's source of income, the list of documents can be found here;

LIST OF DOCUMENTS FOR A SUCCESSFUL STUDY VISA APPLICATION

2. You don't require a family representative form if you don't have an accompanying minor in your application.

3. You're not required to print, scan or sign any of the Canada immigration forms. Upon successful uploading of documents into their respective columns, you will be prompted to use your full name as written on your international passport to electronically sign and transmit the documents to IRCC for due visa processing.

I hope this information satisfies your inquiry.

Please help a Brother !

I'm working towards STUDY PATH to immigration: I had previous education in Chemical Engineering, BUT all my work experience 5+yrs has been in Electrical Engineering (Automation and Control) with numerious Training here and abroad.

In your opinion which of the following options will have a higher chance of Study Permit approval:

1. Masters in Chemical Engineering (which match my academic background only but not match with my work experience)?
2. Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology 2yr Program (which matches with my work experience but is low level certificate)?

Your inputs will be highly appreciated
Thanks in advance !
Masters or Post Graduate diploma in electrical engineering related program is better

Don’t worry about the stress, the important thing is to do it right
For the proof of funds, provide as much of those requirements as you can lay your hands on, from your sponsor obviously

The only form you need to print after filling is that of family representative so that other members traveling with you can sign. Scan and attach after signing

Check if you’re using the correct form of Adobe suggested

childgodly:
I'm really sorry I keep stressing you people here. I'm just trying to get everything together ASAP.

For the proof of funds, my parents are paying my fees and I'm obviously unemployed. How many of these do I need to submit then?
your bank statements for the past four months
a bank draft in convertible currency
pay stubs
an employment letter
proof of assets or business
proof of payment of tuition and accommodation fees
tax reports, declarations or statements
proof of a student/education loan from a financial institution
a letter from the person or institution providing you with money
proof of funding paid from within Canada, if you have a scholarship or are in a Canadian-funded educational program
proof of a Canadian bank account in your name if money has been transferred to Canada

There is a family member representative form. I'm the one doing practically everything and the visas are being submitted via my account. Do I get my mum to sign under this form appointing me as the representative?

Then for all these forms they gave me to fill, Adobe is saying I can't save changes to some. Does that mean I have to print, fill and then scan them? For the signatures as well, do I need to print and sign then scan?

Thank you all so much for your patience you're so kind.

There are fewer posts on the 'living Canada' thread than on this one.

It is clear that once people finally settle in Canada, they are less inclined to guide people in the aspect of how they can settle.

This student visa thread is one of the most active on Nairaland.
