I agree with everything you've said except this one. Children can honestly tell lies against individuals. In fact, there was a case like this on Nairaland last year. A lady confessed that she accused a relative of hers whom she stayed with of abuse and the said man was taken away from his family and placed on a watchlist.
I think a better advice is to be watchful of the individual accused and try to get tangible evidence. It's the same thing with false rape accusations

When you list fathers, list mothers too. It's a mental problem and therefore not gender specific. I've had mothers confess to me that they have an inexplicable sexual feeling for their male child, even though they haven't acted on it.
