Good day all,
I really enjoyed this pepper thread, having read from page 1 to d last,I must confess I learnt a lot from people who has been practicing pepper farming, every one gav what he has not hoarding of knowledge,I just wanna ask if d Avenir F1 seeds not germinating problem has been taking care of in subsequent batches.h
as I have plan to start a pepper farm, although I have sow d local seeds & hav 90 % germination.

please sir are you sure those local pepper seeds you planted will grow to harvest.

because the rate they keep hyping all this hybrid seeds it just seems as if we don't need to plant local seeds again.

my mum sometime planted some local ata rodo and shombo peppers and we harvested them.

but now hybrid seeds seems to be the big deal and i don't just know if someone here will tell me the difference in results of hybrid pepper seeds and the local pepper seeds been sold in markets.

i just know hybrid seeds mature for harvest faster but local seeds i just don't know of it

Degis:

Transplant later in the evening after exposing them to sunlight for 4-5 days before transplanting and use compost tea to water the plants.

Compost tea is just manure mixed with water. Remember, don’t let the tea touch the leaves of the plant bc it will kill them. It contains too much Nitrogen
Good day,
But can it touch the root and stem?
Thanks
I mean the Compost Tea

there is a farm that used 60% local seeds and 40% local seeds, the difference is like night and day,on the side planted with local seeds the plants has grown to almost 5-6 feet in length and not much seed to show and they are falling down another headache for the farm manager,it is a 50 plots project,on the side planted with avenir the crops are of uniform height of roughly 3 feet and fruiting serious and has no problems with falling,I will get pics to better illustrate tomorrow.

those crops supposed to be one week after germination, keeping pepper indoors can reduce growth,it needs a whiff of sunlight to stimulate growth

[quote author=Waterfarms post=101132780]Top of the moment to all the farmers.
Please, am having a problem with my pepper (habanero). Am having flower dropping, instead of the flower to convert to fruits. They just drop.
Get neem leaf (dogoyaro) boil it and allow it to cool and spray it on the plant. Do not add additional water aside the water that used to boil the leafs

Epsom salt as a foliar spray or soil additive will help tomato and pepper plants grow and produce larger, tastier yields.

Late in the season use an Epsom salt spray to increase tomato and pepper yield and keep plants green and bushy; early in the season add Epsom salt to the soil to aid germination, early root and cell development, photosynthesis, plant growth, and to prevent blossom-end rot.hw much is d Epsom salt in d market

Epsom salt is not actually salt but a natural mineral compound of about 10 percent magnesium and about 13 percent sulfur—often referred to as magnesium-sulfate. Epsom salt is highly soluble and easily taken in by plants when combined with water and sprayed on leaves. As a soil additive, Epsom salt becomes soluble with soil moisture and is drawn up into plants through the roots.

A magnesium or sulfur deficiency in the soil can cause tomato and pepper plants to grow small and spindly, leaves to yellow between leaf veins late in the season, and fruit to be slow in maturing and ripening.

. The difference is simple, is just like comparing an Ekuke Calabar local Bingo which end up in a pot of a hot dog pepper soup with an Assasian or Rot Toilet Puppy Puppy who h servers as your security and pet, you can't compare the both, that's also how it is for crop, I rather don't farm anything than to go same pattern which my aged parent took farming same local breeds and getting less result or yield. The local breed will waste your time taking a longer period to mature and gives you a lesser yield, while the highbreed will take a lesser time and give your higher yield.
