Cost effective. = POP Cement is cheaper
Not just Cheaper, but also better & Stronger.

I would not advice my clients to choose Plaster board over PoP cement, whether for Building a Tv console or making a false ceiling.


Plaster Board : comes in Ready made form. Usually fits with screws.

The Biggest advantage of Plaster Board/Gypsum Board: it's a quick installation process & a cleaner Method.


Disadvantages: Crack occurs with the slightest movement, For example : cutting of space for search Lights.
Incase of Repair, you will need to Pull down a bigger portion for repair.
If moisture seeps into the gypsum ceiling through leaking roofs or air conditioning drain pipes, it may result in fungal growth.



POP: like i said, POP is stronger, we build Pop boards using Filas (Which serves as the skeletal system) ,water & PoP cement.

We can always determine the quality of a POP board. (This is where hiring a Professional comes in Place)

Once POP Board is made, it gets stronger as it dries up. After a month of installation it's get even stronger.
it's Cost effective than plaster Board.
Repairs can be easily Done, Mistakes can be easily corrected as well.


Disadvantages : using POP cement for Tv console or false ceiling. Pop making process can be Very Messy.

Preparation & installation Process is Tedious unlike the latter very easy Process & clean method

Time Consuming.

Nota bene= Depending on who you hire. Your POP works can either be of Standard quality or Fail out.

not correct, if you say cement board I will agree. the one of p.o.p is stronger than plaster board but the process messes up your space and time duration for installation compared to plaster that is faster to install.

all will fade but p.o.p will be faster, then you have to pay more to remove/demolish and cart away before thinking of repainting while the wood consoles can be reused for other interior items as desired.
