shawnmich:You have the residence status of Benin? |
| Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by princejck: 7:34pm On May 06, 2021 |
shawnmich:From your post I can tell you don’t have residence permit in Cotonou so therefore you can’t apply for visa through Cotonou. Correct me if I am wrong. |

princejck:And what if the person has been working his ass out in a business environment (firm that majored on purchasing and supplying, including logistics) more than three years and CV had it well documented about his role. |

daambassador:Still what i was saying as long as his work experience indicate his new career path then no problem. He should get Arbeitszeugnis ( more like recommendations letter from his company stating his role at the company) |

shawnmich:For you to be eligible to apply via Cotonou, you must have their resident permit and it must be at least 6 months from the day it was issued. You made a mistake during your booking. You should have shifted your start date to September or October. If your school starts this month,it means your interview invitation mail should have come in March and your interview in April,if you were to be given an appointment. If you're in category B,it won't be possible for you to get interview mail and be interviewed in the same month of May. If at all you're interviewed this month, what of the 4-8 weeks of processing your visa? You should be in Germany before your start date(except last year that corona virus interrupted that) These are the things you have to consider before booking. That's why they stated categorically that once your start date comes closer, you should forget about being invited for any interview and cancel your booking appointment. From experience, mails for interview dates for category B applicants are received from the end of July and all through August (NB:this time frame might change for the better and i don't know when) for winter semester. If i were you,i'd cancel immediately, rebook and use October/early November as start date. Start online for the time being. |

Nzealibaba:Bro let's not talk about racism because' even as a full fledge Nigerian citizen you still experience it day in day out in this Naija...I have experience it tho I won't mention the name of the multinational company after going thru series of interview in different states and taking the risk of plying the 'good roads' in our country it ended up in tears because' of racism. |

CooKeed:Digital media , I studied human kinetics as bsc. Does it have to be related to my bachelor? And I have a gpa of 2.8 , I’m I qualify please? |
| Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by shawnmich: 9:33pm On May 06, 2021 |
Thanks for your advice, maybe I should contact the school to defer my admission to winter because I can start the program online....or maybe I should wait if there is still hope this month. Thanks Elninoarmando: |

Kathy4jesus:I thought as much. It seems 'portfolio' refers to a collection of your previous projects relating to digital media. You may email the programme coordinator to get clarification. Generally speaking, German schools expect your bachelor's to be related to your intended master's. Secondly, do you have any significant experience in digital media? (There's no guarantee that this will be accepted in lieu of a related BSc though). I advise you go through the programme website very well and be clear on every single requirement before you apply (especially if the application will cost you money). Also, they would typically specify the minimum GPA requirement. Convert your GPA to the German grading system and see if it is sufficient. Frankly, I think your best option is to apply for programmes that are related to your bachelor's, if you intend to study for MSc in Germany. The alternative would be to go for a second bachelor's. If you chose the bachelor's option, from what I've read on this thread, it will be hard to convince the VO that you are really going for studies, and not just desperate to enter Germany by any means necessary. It will be harder if you are not young. All the best. |

@Emman2903, have always made this point, But I don't know why people ignore it.. If you are in category B, no date for you.. Anybody feeling disappointed in category b for not getting date should blame no one. I actually started this protest thing even before Emman2903 joined. Category b is not getting date. Admit it and work towards it, Don't wait till Oct before you start blaming the embassy. I have always said it and some too. Protest protest protest protest |

If I am not mistaken, a BSc Int'l Relations and wants to go for another BSc International Business Management? This could raise an eyebrow, like why do similar BSc. But If it is a BSc Int'l Relations and MSc Business Management, that would be fine. I doubt if such a master program will be free tuition sha oo daambassador: |

My Brother lol Abuja na another level entirely ooh. Most of those European embassies are in the same area. If you call the German embassy in Abuja, they would pick and respond to you only that they would redirect you to Lagos. Sometimes I wonder if staffs in Abuja are not as informed as Lagos Abi no be the same salary? There is actually no sense for someone living in Bauchi to travel all the way to Lagos because of an interview, not even in this climate. If they had decentralized the whole thing maybe they could have achieved more. Ms. Birgitt Ory needs to do more abeg, daambassador: |

If your residence permit is legit and older than 6 months then that might be an option. I will also recommend that you read this thread carefully. If you don't want to read everything, you should try reading from 2020 till date. On the other hand, have a Plan B handy just in case. For some other countries, the deadline for September is this month's end. shawnmich: |

OdogwuEkeke:Will like to correct this impression, Int'l Rels and Int'l Business/Management are not the same though they may sound the same in the ear. While the former focused on foreign policy, wars, peace and security, history, international law and jurisprudence, political economy, education, relations between countries/governments (intergovernmental relations) e.t.c the later focuses on intercultural communication, business law in an International Context, international financial accounting/taxes, languages, international management (Specialisation) e.t.c Well majority of public universities in Germany with the exclusion of private universities offers the course for both Bsc and Msc and they are all free tuition. |
| Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by princejck: 6:43am On May 07, 2021 |
daambassador:I apologize for giving the first impression that they re same, you re right they are not the same nevertheless you need to ask yourself what motivated you to choose such career path ( work experience, internships etc.) indicate them in your cv and motivation as well as during ur interview also don't give the impression that ur first degree is a waste but rather combining both degrees would give you maximum advantage in ur new career path. |

TonyyS:That's an envelope you can get from DHL and other companies (int'l logistics company) that are into logistics...I believe they will use the envelope to return your documents It will make sense if you patronise DHL since its their own. |
