My fellow Nairalanders:
Please, help me take a look at my timeline so far and tell me what you think:
February 8 - Submitted Normal Study Permit Application
February 17 - Received offer to apply through NSE
March 5 - Submitted NSE Application
March 16 - Completed upfront medicals
April 12- Medicals showed as passed on my portal
April 19 - Received BVL
April 21 - Was asked to submit Police Clearance Certificate
April 21 - Submitted Police Clearance Certificate
May 5 - Received a 2nd BVL

I feel like my timeline is very weird, what could be the reason for this?
Why do I have 2 BVLs?
do u want to have EPL? By God grace you would be sent Passport Request Soonest. Remain positive

SonofEguasa:
I received my Gcms Notes yesterday and Eligibility is showing "Recommend Interview"

What does this really mean??

I have been getting different meanings

Far too many times, prospective applicants applicants ask me questions relating to this topic.

In this post, I will carefully address the real issues and meaning behind "Recommend Interview". I hope every participant on this platform makes the most of the information below.

Kindly be advised that every immigration applications submitted to IRCC are reviewed by at least two levels of people:

1. Program Case Analyst:

Most of the time, it's the Program Case Analyst who does the initial R-10 check that often positions certain applications on "Recommend Interview". They review all information present on file and can only make recommendations as per the applicant's circumstance - i.e, recommended interview (RI), review required (RR), recommended refusal/eligibility failed (EF). The Program Case Analyst may also be able to refuse some ill-equipped applications due to poor documentation.

Reason for Recommend Interview;

The eligibility status - "Recommend Interview" is mostly common when the Program Case Analyst has certain concerns about the submission of the applicant for an immigration application to Canada.

This is largely due to some irregularities on the applicant's employment reference letter and inability to verify applicant's work experience, ineligible financial documents to cover for the applicant's proposed program and upkeep in Canada, and in some cases due to salaries being paid by cash at applicant's place of work.

2. Senior Immigration Officer

The Senior immigration officer (visa officer) will then review the notes and assessments of the program case analyst and make the final decision, this also includes whether or not an interview is required. If an interview is necessary to continue processing your application, the status would change to "interview required". However, since the inception of the COVID-19 pandemic, IRCC have not been conducting interviews for prospective applicants both for work permit, spousal sponsorship, parents sponsorship and some other PR applications. In view of the foregoing, an immigration officer may disregard a recommended interview and subsequently grant an approval.

My observations;

I have reviewed several GCMS notes as of recent and in the past and I have come to understand that majority of applicant's with "Recommend Interview" as the current eligibility assessment on their GCMS notes are later in the visa process approved by the Senior Immigration Officer.

Although, in a few cases, some applications may be rejected due to the limited knowledge on the applicant's part to address the initial concerns. This also stems from the fact that the format is not clearly spelled out by the immigration authorities.

This is not much of a bother you know, i would recommend you check properly for the pre-assessment notes/comments which can be found on the page 2 or the last two pages of the Gcms notes.

I hope this information satisfies your enquiry and future questions relating to the subject matter.

It will end in praise.

Statement of purpose and letter of explanation are to achieve the same goal, so all you need in your sop should be in the LOE so you have a single document addressing why you were refused, this will be merged with all other documents relating to client information

for someone not granted study permit in 2013 but want to apply again now with almost new information and documents, is the person need to write SOP or LOE?

Hello, Please I got NSE request. I intend to continue via the normal study route. Also I do not want to wait till the 30 day period to provide MBS for NSE as it might delay the visa processing time. So I wanted to ask that should I provide a letter of explanation (informing them that I do not have MBS to do NSE and they should just proceed with the normal route) and attaching the previous proofs of fundings and upload to the GC portal ? Thanks

To the bolded , No you didn't

Probably IOM Abuja don't offer such service (sending a Medical test result to applicants).

But IOM Lagos do send test results to applicants if they ask for it (by mail)

If I had known their services differ according to their location, I would have gone to Lagos, I need that medical result.

I will still request for it via mail.

Thank you.

I would have submitted our application together, but some of his docs were not ready, hence his was submitted 2 days after mine. Am still in Nigeria, but hope to leave soon. My PPR came in on 12th April and his on 27th or 28th April.

Yea, you can actually apply alongside your children, all you need is a strong letter of explanation.

I submiteed two of my landed property. My wife is an hr in a company. I paid my fees. I am going alone. I am sponsoring myself with a closing balance of 15m and inflow and outflow of 123m for 6 month required. What are this guys really looking for again? I have apllied for my gcms note even before now. Should i reply immediately?

The visa officer is not satisfied that your proposed program in Canada makes sense given the local options available in Nigeria. This could be as a result of poorly documented study plan which doesn't justify you as a genuine candidate seeking to study in Canada.

In your next application, you should rationally demonstrate that your course of study is in tandem with your current work experience and provide adequate proofs as to your establishment in your home country.

The refusal reasons are straightforward and can be tackled without a GCMS notes.

I always advice applicants to be truthful as possible in their immigration applications to Canada. I would suggest you include your siblings international passport bio data page (if available).

While filling the IMM5645E (family Information form) truthfully declare what your brother does for a living and his current country of residence. It doesn't hurt your application if he is resident abroad.

Hi everyone. Newbie here. smiley
I am trying to put in an application for my study permit having received an offer of admission. I have a few questions please.

For medicals, which is more affordable; IOM or QLife?
Also, how urgently should I approach the need for a medical report; having it ready at the time of VO request or ensuring I submit alongside other docs at time of application? (I'm working towards the may 15th deadline)

For the study permit, Is it a good idea to be applying for my kids (5 and 7) right away?
One of them carries a US passport, should it be used in the application?
p.s: we all have a valid visitor's visa once used.

I'll appreciate your insights please.

Thank you for this sir. The lawyer says it willtake 2 months to process. For the GIC do i need to show evidence of the funds since i want a relative to transfer that money for me to an account i wont be declaring. The socioeconomic ties, i am married with kids but dont belong to any groups, i just go to church and come back.
JustMellow:

Hello Lovesarrow,

A transfer deed can be done by a lawyer. Access one in your location. If you think you will struggle to demonstrate good financial strength, get a cosponsor even after setting up GIC. For ties; family, organizational membership, life insurance, investment, etc. It will be best if you demonstrate ties socioeconomically.

Best of Luck

Although, in a few cases, some applications may be rejected due to the limited knowledge on the applicant's part to address the initial concerns. This also stems from the fact that the format is not clearly spelled out by the immigration authorities.

This is not much of a bother you know, i would recommend you check properly for the pre-assessment notes/comments which can be found on the page 2 or the last two pages of the Gcms notes.

I hope this information satisfies your enquiry and future questions relating to the subject matter.

It will end in praise.
