I swear... You just smell that it was corruption that lead to the purchases from different vendors.
There has never anywhere in the world been an arms deal that was clean.
But post acquisition, one should aim for least-cost, maximum efficiency of whatever assets.

An example: A car rental company like Avis, with 100 Hyundai will pay a fraction -which they'll pass on to customers- for spares than what the NA will pay for its 10/15 South Korean vehicles.

And then factor in the mechanics and technicians to be trained for all the different vehicles. The whole thing just doesn't make any sense to me.

We still have kidnapped students with daredevil bandits, even the Afaka students released were as a result of negotiation involving ransom and release of a notorious bandit, also schools in Abuja are closing down as education in the entire north is under threat but our problem is sending our special forces from almost all branches of our armed forces to go and do Mai-guardi for someone that has being in power since 2003 in a country that has little or no significance to Nigeria both economically or otherwise, infact they're also notorious for harrasing Nigerians. Well, let's hope the alleged coup is mere rumour or don't have the backing of France because if the French wants to remove the President there is nothing a handful of special forces can do except exflitrating the President to safety in Nigeria.
That's how we foolishly went and wasted billions of dollars and many lives of security agents to bring peace to serria leaone and Liberia, w/o any extracted MOU for what we stand to gain. Today the Europeans and Chinese that ignored those countries and fled during thier hard times have all taken over most of their mine fields/natural resources while onyeoma Nigeria stay aloof. The US has just recently declined the offer to come setup a base in Nigeria because we aren't their priority.
It's high time the gov't begin to prioritize the security & welfare of her citizens before anything else, this big brother nonsense is becoming a monument failure and an object of scorn to Nigerians oops!!! I've forgotten we don't even have a foreign policy and I'm very sure the national assembly don't know about this deployment which is in contravention of our laws if they don't approve such deployment but again this is Nigeria. Maybe na Garba Shehu approve the mission.

It's only a matter of time before the Bandits graduate into taking vip's.
The goal of every business man is to grow and innovate.

We are in the growth stage. Once we get to the innovation stage where the problem starts coming at them personally. Then things would start happening.

For now it's vibes and insha Allah for the commons.

Gunmen have killed two police officers in two night attacks on police facilities in Emohua local Government Area (LGA) of Rivers state.

The gunmen also reportedly burnt two patrol vehicles and destroyed security checkpoints along East West road.

A community source confided in The Nation the incidents occurred around 10pm on Friday.

Governor Nyesom Wike had shut down all land borders and imposed curfew from 10pm to 6am to forestall attacks on security personnels and infrastructure in the state.

The Nation gathered the gunmen first stormed and destroyed C4I checkpoint located after Choba bridge without killing any officer.

They then proceeded to Ogbakiri junction where they killed a police officer on duty.

The attackers were also said to have moved to Rumuji Police station where they killed another officer, beheading him and razing two patrol vehicles before escaping through Elele Alimini axis of the East West road.

It was learnt they operated without any challenge from security forces.

The Nation further gathered the hoodlums came in a Hilux van and wore two different security uniforms to deceive policemen on duty.

Rivers State Police Command is yet to issue a statement on the incident.

Attempts to get official reactions were not fruitful.

The Nation learnt the Commissioner of Police Ebola Friday has gone for on- the- spot assessment of the incidents.

Again, armed herders kill five in two separate attacks on Benue communities

No fewer than five persons have been reportedly killed in two separate attacks on Imandeakpu and Mbatyough Saghev communities in Guma and Gwer West Local Government Areas of Benue state, respectively.

Saturday Vanguard gathered from a source in the area that the attack on Imandeakpu along the Gbajimba Federal University of Agriculture, FUAM-Gbajimba left four persons dead and several others injured.

According to the source, the armed marauders invaded the community at about 11 pm, shooting sporadically and mowed down anyone they caught.

He said, “the attack was unprovoked, the armed herders sneaked into the village when everyone had gone to bed and started shooting sporadically.

The sound of the gunshots created a pandemonium, people ran out of their houses amid rapid gunshots and those that could not flee quickly were gunned down and butchered like animals.

“As we speak, the village has been deserted, some are fleeing towards Gbajimba the Local Government Headquarters while many others are heading towards the Federal University of Agriculture Makurdi.

“Though we learnt that security personnel have moved into community to forestall further attacks,” he said

In Gwer West Local Government, the marauders were said to have invaded Mbatyough Saghev at 10 pm where they reportedly killed another victim whose corpse has been deposited at the Naka General Hospital mortuary.

Efforts to get the reaction of the Police Public Relations Officer, Deputy Superintendent, DSP, Catherine Anene was unsuccessful as calls put to her phone were not responded to.

SARS are not misbehaving because they have gun but because they lack professionalism and there superiors and authority is not willing to checkmate there excesses. NDLEA has gun but you hardly hear of there misconduct.

I only suggested they should be armed if they are going to leave security of the highway 24/7 to them as I suggested. If they're just doing what they're doing now, they don't need gun for anything.
Okay, no problem

But the reason we may not hear of their misconduct is because the ones patrolling the highway are not armed. Let us do a 1 month test run. Then come back and quote me

The Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Eboka Friday has confirmed an attack on some police stations and checkpoints in Rivers State during which seven policemen were feared dead Friday night.

Speaking to the press on the matter, the CP said he was leading an investigation team to ascertain what actually happened.

The Rivers State Police boss on Saturday morning said he was leading a team to the place.

“Yes, that is what we heard. I am on my way to the place. I want to confirm it myself,” CP Friday.

Gunmen were on Friday night reported having attacked security checkpoints and police stations in Rivers State, with no fewer than seven security operatives allegedly killed.

A source told Tribune Online that the hoodlums attacked a police station along the Rumuji axis of the East-West Road in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The Rumuji police station was also burnt and two policemen feared killed, while some vehicles were burnt.
