Yes
Okay thank you.
I have another question. Please, what are the requirements for obtaining for an adult and a kid?
Re: Cost Of A Nigeria International Passport by shawnmich: 6:12pm On May 10, 2021
Ok.
Thank but like average of how many days, because I want to change my name...and as I can see alot of dubious officer, I don't want to end up being scam.....so I want to know everything and steps before venturing into it.

Also if I did not appear on the day of capturing, is it possible to go there other day?

david290:
Capturing date will be indicated on the receipt print out upon successful payment.

I don't know for kids but for an adult, it's BVN and one of Certificate of Origin, Driver's License, Voter's card, etc. See this link for complete lists of accepted documents: https://nimc.gov.ng/how-to-enrol-adults/. Not sure what's obtainable currently, but I should mention I did mine back in 2012 when BVN wasn't even a requirement. Also, I did it absolutely free.

Please did you receive any text or saw your portal show any information to the effect that your passport is ready for collection? I captured (DIY) at their Ilorin office and my portal reads "Success" whatever that means. I'm currently out of the state but was thinking of traveling down. But then again I don't want to waste transportation to and fro. I have engaged their Twitter handle but my tweets like those of others in a similar situation keeps getting ignored.

I dont even understand this portal thing. My portal only shows payment confirmation.

Can someone please walk me through how to verify passport status on the portal?

I dont know why its been difficult to know the truth about the status of booklets expected at the Ikoyi Passport Office. An officer confirmed they received about 500 booklets yesterday at the Ilorin office. If you ask anyone in Lagos, they will come up with the story that locations aside Lagos/PH/Kano/Abuja are issuing the old passport and that you shouldn't worry, they are expecting theirs.

That's what they have been telling me since in their festac office. I'm just tired of the whole thing. Two of my guys just did theirs in awka last month and they collected it just after 4 days. I regret doing it in Lagos.

The name on your NIN must be correspond with the one on your passport application. If you haven't done your NIN registration this is the first step. Having obtained your NIN number, proceed to the Immigration website where you'll fill out your details. Once done, you'll be prompted to print the application page and proceed with payment. I used the InnovatePay payment platform where I printed a slip that I took to Zenith bank (I think it's indicated on their website that they support Card payment but I couldn't find that option). I presented 17500 Naira for a 32-page passport and the slip generated on the payment portal to one of the tellers (not sure, but I think official payment is 23000 Naira in Ph, Abj & Lag). The teller in turn gave me an evidence of payment. I proceeded to the cafe to print payment slip which contained my interview date. I proceeded to High Court where I paid 150 Naira for signature and stamping of my Guarantor form (I had downloaded this from their website). I also bought a seal of 50 Naira still within the court premises for the Guarantor form. I took the signed Guarantor's form affixed with a passport of the Guarantor--alongside other documents like state of origin cert, Nat'l ID, birth cert, application page and payment acknowledgement slip--to the Immigration office. This is where things get easy or complicated depending on the DIY-friendliness of the center; Ilorin in my case wasn't. Assuming your chosen center is DIY-friendly, you'll tell the officer(s) you meet at the gate that you came for capturing. You'll be directed to a room where your documents will be vetted. Thereafter you'll be taking to another room for "interview" where the officer will ask random questions like date and place of birth and occupation. Again, if your center is DIY-friendly you won't be asked to pay other than the fact that your documents will be filed and your payment confirmed. Once your payment has been confirmed, your file will move to the capturing stage. Your face and thumbprint will be captured and you may be asked to confirm some details like your name and date of birth. Having done this, you'll be giving a slip that contains the date of capturing, your name, enrollment number, and tentative date for collection (applies only to a few centers like Lag and Abj).

There's no official statement regarding this but it's based on information I gathered from following discussions on here and on their Twitter page. I observed two people whose NIN didn't drop had "No record found" in the description part of their portal. I'm however not sure what "vetted" "approved" and "success" mean.

Thanks for your response.
Is it for new passport or change of name?
What about administrative fee, don't you pay it online?
Will I also need guarantor form for change of name since I have expired existing International passport?
Thanks

My initial reply assumed fresh application. Sorry I don't have experience with passport renewal/change of name. Hopefully others who are/have been in similar situation will quote you.

we have to blame them... if everyone refuses to pay these outrageous sums and leave these corruption reeked officers for sometime they will change... instead any amount they call, no one wants to do due diligence and handle their issues themselves.
Platform has been put online.
Pay online and get all your documentation right and go and face these ppl. This is becoming too appalling especially in the south!!!

God bless you!!!

We don’t have to blame these guys for paying the huge sum of money. You never know how urgent they need that passport. I am praying to God that I and my children’s passport should be ready before the need arise. May God save us from this bondage called Nigeria.

Amen oo

I also wish..even when you finish with the online one they will always find a way to delay you unnecessarily, trying to make you to come around as many times as they wish... Infact, they will keep telling you that there is no booklet yet they will be issuing booklets just because they really want to bill you. Ahswear this country is done, no hope again

Pls do small work and read this.
Browse internet at least.
If u are in Lagos, Abuja, Ph price for adults and kids is same- 26k
If u are in other states, price for kids is 11k and for adults 17k
Once again, open the immigration website and read all the requirements, it is alll doable. I have posted the link for enhanced passport, check rest of the website for the e passport if u are not in lagos, abuja or ph
