Governor Hope Uzodimma says Nigerians must work and pray to keep the country united as he called on Muslims to pray for unity.

Mr Uzodimma made the call in a statement by his chief press secretary, Oguwike Nwachukwu, in Owerri on Tuesday.

While congratulating the Muslim faithful on completing their Ramadan fast, he urged them to reflect on Prophet Muhammad’s teachings on love for one another and peaceful coexistence.

He advised them to hold on to their resilience, dedication, patience, and self-sacrifice in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic and the threats of insecurity.

The governor said God had been gracious to Nigeria and urged both Muslims and Christians to remain steadfast in their prayers for a prosperous and united country.

“We do not have any other country to call our own, but Nigeria. Therefore, it behooves all of us, irrespective of our faith, to ensure that Nigeria is made the envy of other countries,” he said.

Mr Uzodimma noted that this year’s celebration had provided an opportunity to reflect on the awesomeness of God in the face of challenges.

He assured the celebrants of the government’s preparedness to protect the lives and property of all residents.

The governor also solicited their continuous prayers for the government while promising that his administration will always serve the interest of law-abiding residents.

Mr Uzodimma appealed to the Muslim faithful to spare some thoughts for the vulnerable, weak, and needy in their midst, urging them to show some love in the spirit of the celebration.

Staying United will only happen when
1. We look up to GOD To do a new thing that will reduce poverty and insecurity in ur land
2. Help our nearest neighbour in any small way i.e forwarding job postings and biz opportunities to the person
3. Work with integrity and be known for that
4. Pray out any leader that does not have our best interest in mind

But our existing 36 Constitutional States must be given full authorities and responsibilities to govern themselves without any interference from federal Idiots.

And the F.G must be limited to Foreign Affairs, Military and Treaties sealing only.

And be content with 10% of each State's revenue earnings contribution to run these limited services.

The country has been spoiled already by the government doing the wrong things at the right time and doing the right things at the wrong time.
