Abdulrasheed Bawa: We Recovered $153 Million, 80 Houses From Diezani by Shuzzi(m): 11:32am On May 12, 2021
The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Abdulrasheed Bawa, has disclosed that the commission has so far recovered a total of $153 million and 80 houses valued at 80 million from former Petroleum Minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke.

“There are several cases surrounding Diezani’s case. I was part of that investigation, and we have done quite a lot, “ Bawa said in the April edition of the EFCC magazine, EFCC Alert.

“In one of the cases, we recovered $153 million; we have secured the final forfeiture of over 80 properties in Nigeria valued at about $80 million.”

Diezani is currently facing allegations of bribery and money laundering in London and Nigeria.

Although the long-running British probe into Diezani has yet to yield any charges, EFCC has pending corruption charges against her.

Former EFCC chairman Ibrahim Magu in February 2020 said the former minister allegedly stole so much money that she needed to be extradited to the country to return them all.

Bawa, however, said that bringing the former minister to justice was still far from reality, given the fact that she was out of Nigeria’s jurisdiction, acknowledging the challenges associated with bringing her home to face justice.

He said other cases against her include a $115 million INEC bribery.

Bawa said the case has certainly not been abandoned and the commission is looking forward to having her in the country.

“We are looking forward to the time we will, maybe, have her in the country, and, of course, review things and see what will happen going forward.”

An average Nigerian is Greedy .

People don’t want to work and sweat for money anymore . This is why every young guy or lady out there wants to drive Benz at age 22 and live in fancy duplex’s and mansions before 25 .

The peer pressure and lavish lifestyle being portrayed by fraudulent people and corrupt monsters has made a lot of people greedy and unambitious .

May God help this nation .

Members of the PDP are all thieves, this is an Esoteric truth. We know them by their virtues, they've succeeded in destroying our once envied nation through out their terrible 16 years reign. The country went to the dogs during their reign. We thank God for our salvation came in President Buhari. Instead of Nigerians to be patient they are busy abusing their saviour. It takes time to clear up all that mess PDP left behind. In president Bubari we trust.

The same houses that Bawa was queried for selling out to cronies as the head of EFCC office Lagos, that's why they appointed him to cover them up as a lower ranked personnel.
Tell us what the $153m was used for or where the money is located. This story is for zombites doing BMC job on blogs.

Last time they said she stole $40b and they were reminded that Nigeria revenue from oil annually is not up to $40b and salaries of Govt workers were paid, billions was spent on arms procurement and the military, capital projects were executed etc from it.
It means she stole more than all that Nigeria generated as revenue.
This Taqqiya distraction won't move us away from the Southern Governors meeting which rebuked Buhari openly for the first time.

Why are you just recovering?

Why is she not sentenced to death?

Because prosecuting her means that you are persecuting the Niger delta.

Just as prosecuting Buhari means you are prosecuting the North, or prosecuting GEJ means you are prosecuting the Niger delta and the South east.

Nigerians love their corrupt leaders.
