Sighs Lordbinsmar:How many salary earners can afford private school fees? Don't blame peopleu unjustifiably! BbqTormentor:SMH...your comment shouldn't be here rather post it on the appropriate thread. Yampotatocarrot:Are they more expensive than that of Private School Fees? Yampotatocarrot:Kindly list the names of those you term "Depends on the private schools" that are affordable by salary earners! and would have lovely amenities and services better than government owned institutions! If you can't list them kindly stay off my comments. Discussions in a forum as this should be educative and awareness induced than just quoting for no obvious value. @Seniorwriter 3 Likes 1 Share |

In 2009, Oby Ezekwesili wanted to make these federal government colleges public private. Nigerians back then said no. So the schools are now in, and even back then, in a mess. But do things like make them public private, or increase fees...Nigerians no go gree. Raise taxes to fund the schools...Nigerians no gree. 1 Like |

God will not allow my children to attend such evil school, and if they do I hear all these evil happening, I will take them to go and learn trade and skills, before there mates come out they must have made it in life. Some schooling condition is a scarm. Nigerian Education system needs a declaration of state of Emergency. |

Lordbinsmar: Because private schools cost money...a lot of money. And are better than the public schools. My parents sent me to a private school for primary school. To fund the fees...they needed to do side hustle in addition to their regular jobs. Meanwhile there was a cheap and relatively still good public school nearby. But my parents thought private school was better... 1 Like |

Don't be surprised if at the end of the day when a proper investigation is done, this petition arose from one or 2 parents whose children were kicked out of the school now trying to blackmail the principal with all these allegations. That is their way because if they are sincere they would know most of these stuff are out of the hands of the principal and the allegation of monetising punishment is just damn ridiculous. The petitioners should be investigated. |

Lazycapitalist2: I understand the high cost of school fees associated with private secondary schools. But most of this stupid government unity school do charge exorbitant school fees. |
Re: FGC Nise: Students Use Maggot-Infested Toilets - Parents Petition Minister by Nobody: 1:11pm On May 12, 2021 |
Lordbinsmar: Well, the fees of a unity school is N65000. Meanwhile, a good private school would charge N100000 or more (some charge less; depends on location) |

I doubt Federal government cares about the unity schools in Nigeria. If not for PTA and old students association in most unity schools in Southwest, they will be nothing to write home about. 2 Likes |

Lazycapitalist2: The difference is not that much compared to the harm caused to the young students attending government unity schools. I rather pay some extra fee than allow any of my future children to be subjected to the inhumane treatment the students are been subjected to. |

We should first of all check the staff quarters toilet. Why should staffs allowed students toilet to be in such condition. Those days we use to have hostel masters and all that. I don't think its government responsibilities but the school management. |

Why not withdraw ur child from the school? Why would anyone enrol his/her child in a school that is overpopulated? What do they learn there that ur child can't learn in a state school with sizeable population? Listen,Government schools are not like private schools. There are procedures, bureaucracies and protocols.Dont expect quick intervention because there are so many others schools being managed by govt. with many requests waiting for approval which must pass through several desks. Any school where teacher pupils ratio is high on d part of the pupils is nothing but a den of exam malpractice.Students get stuck together while writing with no space.Ur kid copies to pass and graduate with a good result but an empty brain. And teachers can't control or give d students individual attention b/c they are too many. Discipline is also difficult. As a teacher, how many out of 100 students in ur class can u punish in a day without breaking down. 1 Like |

Never ever in my life imagined that a time will come when a student would be asked to pay money in order to escape being punished. Maria Regina model comprehensive sec school nnewi. My alma mater may God continue to bless my teachers of those days because they never spared the rod in correcting us then. |
