System collapse and grid recovery

The Transmission Company of Nigeria hereby states that at about 11:01 am today, 12th of May, 2021, there was a total system collapse of the grid, as a result of voltage collapse at some parts of the grid.

TCN commenced grid recovery immediately after the collapse, from Shiroro Generating Station to Katampe TS, Abuja throught the Shiroro - Katampe line at 11:29 am, and also through Delta Generating Station to Benin Transmission Substation and has reached Oshogbo and parts of Lagos.

While the grid restoration and power restoration gradually progress to other parts of the country, the cause of voltage collapse that precipitated this failure is equally being investigated.

TCN appeals for patience as it works assiduously to ensure full restoration of the grid and consequently power supply to the rest of the country.

Hmm, hope we don't have to wait long.

Well, no more discussions about power tonight. Nigerians tend to be tetchy on the issue.

But until we run power profitably and we meter everyone, and we end sharp practices, and we are willing to all pay for power...we won't see the change we want.

There should be an estimated time to restore power supply.

At least, that's what is obtainable in saner climes.

Other countries needs to activate our mutual courtesy

The system has failed and keep failing. These is just a typical example of how 9ja system keep failing and is failing.

But the quoter system tribe don't want the needful done for betterment of everyone.

Don't expect any good thing to happen with the current system. For 60 years nothing and nothing will still happen.

Buhari have helped in finishing the country, and if 9ja are blind and run out of luck again after 2023 and elect another CATASTROPHE like Buhari, then it's FINISHED.

Well, here is why the system is failing

When you run a business, if your customers are paying you a price below what you need to make a profit , your business collapses.

That is what is happening with the power sector.

How can Nigeria generate energy used to power states from far distances? The government has to decentralize power generation and allow private companies run it in a way that they use resources in their domains to generate power.

Enugu uses coal (yes, there's clean coal!), Niger and other parts of the north can use dams, Port Harcourt and Akwa Ibom can use gas....in that order. This national grid NONSENSE is not working anymore.
