We are in the very last days, and scriptures already gave the picture of how terrible and sickening such days as these would be (you can check 2 Timothy Chapter 3).

It is an indication that Jesus Christ will come anytime soon to take His Own saints to heaven. Thus, wisdom demands that we all should be in right standing with Him before the Rapture takes place. That is, embracing Him as LORD and Savior and living a life of complete holiness everyday.

Now, today, immorality is currently on another level. Paedophile, abortion (even amongst very young teenagers), pornography and masturbation, etc. It's just so disgusting. These things keeps wrecking and ruining the lives of many young people, and it is worrisome.

The devil, our greatest enemy, is usually particular about young folks. Hence, these dirty things we witness today is simply an act of war against them - to corrupt and pervert the souls and bodies of these young ones, waste their lives, and eventually send them to hell (John 10:10).

Parents have very big roles to play today. You can't afford to leave things into the hands of the society or schools. These places, including the media, are vehemently colonised by darkness, and they now subtly propagate the agenda of evil (either knowingly or unknowingly). Imagine telling young folks, "If you must have sex, just don't forget to use condoms". Or "Rather than sex, why not opt for pornography and masturbation?". Total rubbish!

Parents shouldn't subscribe to worldly patterns of teaching children about sex and sexuality. Rather, you must do so in line with God's Will. So, as you are teaching your children about their sexual body parts, you should also tell them that God's Will is that sex should only be between a Married man and his wife inside the safe confines of their marriage institution, with no other party involved.

You should place emphasis on the fact that it is possible to live a life of complete holiness and purity, and that though there will be sexual temptations here and there (as well as their own healthy sexual urges wanting instant gratification), they can still by God's Grace and determination on their own part, remain pure virgins till marriage.

Very importantly, try to lead your children to Christ at a very young age. Your children should start cultivating an intimate relationship with God right from a very young age. This worked for people like me. If you can be successful in this regard, you can always be at peace that irrespective of what is going on out there, your own children won't join the dirty and corrupt number.

But can you give what you don't have? You as a parent, do you have a good relationship with the LORD JESUS CHRIST? Are you a true adherent to purity, holiness and righteousness?

"Godly" sex education? undecided

When will you folks realize that the reason your schemes continue to fail is that you think you can garner control over the things of the world by attaching the name of God to it wherever you can, and all this against God's own commandments to you. undecided

What does it mean to train up your child in the way of God, in the Old Covenant? It meant to teach the child the commandments of God. In the Old Covenant, God assigned even parents the duty of teaching their children the commandments of the Law. undecided

In the New Covenant, God instesd declared that He alone will teach people, including your children, of Himself. Parents are no longer teachers where it concerns God and the commandments of God. undecided

Honestly you have to be real, don't hide anything about sex education. Tell them your experience, your regrets.

Sex education should be giving to this children very early, the world is dark and getting darker daily. The social media has exposed alot of things and has given quick access to information. For every information you seek it must be guided. Let this children know about sex, tell them why they should not indulge in it now, tell them how not to indulge in it even when the thoughts comes up. Tell them it's about choice. Let them know even if they choice to indulge in pre marital sex, there is disadvantage, tell them to use condoms. Don't be too sure they will listen to your 'dont do it's but teach them Godly character, let them have the fart of God in them. The fear of God is the only guide away from wrong choices

It is true God teaches and imbibe positive character, but it's is the duty of the parent to take this children to God. Show them the part of God and let them walk therein

I am afraid you are still off on this. undecided

What a majority of the parents that there do is "indoctrinate" their children, rendering them unable to properly process God and His Truth. Jesus Christ de say that the "blind" teachers only lead their blind students to fall into the same ditch. undecided

Parents are not set up as Teachers where Jesus Christ is concerned. Instead they're only meant to introduce Jesus Christ. But sadly many parents do not themselves know who Jesus Christ is since they too were indoctrinated by some other false teacher/prophet out there. You know this from simply asking a parent what Jesus Christ realiy said about sexual sin. undecided

God was clear that He alone is Teacher all of those who belong to Him. Our work is to preach the Gospel, exactly as given us by Jesus Christ, and let God teach the ones who believe, while we leave the others in God's hands. undecided

After doing all these you have posted, the child will still involve in unwanted pregnancy, what then is the essence?
The next thing you start saying the child wasn't in Christ after leading him or her to Christ by this your method. wink

Sex Education is important, and when you want to teach it; make sure you as a parent-- is very true and realistic.
That thing you hide from them for whatsoever reason, they will find out, and they will keep it a secret, and may actually try them out without telling you. So, this is why you should tell them everything and tell them the reason to abstain from them.

But still, no matter how the parent teaches it, The kids will still have to face some societal challenges of shaming and quilt.

How many parents are ready and able to teach their own kids sex education that will sufficiently quell their curiosity? How many of the many so-called Christian parents out there truly understand sex education themselves? undecided

As far as sex is concerned, Jesus Christ did not preach abstinence. He didnt teach against fornication and the popular list of sexual sins you hear from the pulpits each day. No , Jesus Christ declared that what is sin is instead the lust in one's heart - that lust is what is against God. How many parents know of this and are themselves not guilty of this very sin themselves? undecided

if your goal is to shield your children from the world, that will never happen. In fact, time and time again, we have been taught by life itself that the more you try to control things around them, the more you "break" their minds. undecided

It's less about control and more about protecting. it's about giving children access to the right types of information at a young age and protecting them from the wrong ones. Young children are very impressionable and constantly feeding on the certain types of information can have serious long term effects. For example most preteen children should not be exposed to the wild streets of social media at that age. Their minds are not adequately equiped to seive through the myriad of ideologies that floats around in those spaces.

As a parent, one of our duties is to give our children a solid moral foundation so that when they begin to interact with the world on their own they have enough understanding of right and wrong and a solid framework to work through the complexities of life under the sun.
Hence the saying: Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Where we tend to miss it as parents is when we go to extremes either by stifling the character and creative development of the child in our efforts to protect them or when we hold on for too long forgetting that at some point we have to let them freely make their own choices and just trust that we've provided them with the best moral foundation we could give them.

Just my two Kobo on the matter

Just my two Kobo on the matter
1. Every parent out here (irrespective of religious belief) has a societal duty of ensuring their kids are raised to respect moral standard in the society - what you suggest as your solid moral foundation there. undecided

2. The verse from proverbs was instead in reference to parents teaching their children God's own Law, a commandment given by God Himself to His Old Covenant parents (descendants of Jacob).
Deuteronomy 6 vs 4-8(ERV)

4. “Listen, people of Israel! The Lord is our God. The Lord is the only God.
5. You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.
6. Always remember these commands that I give you today.
7. Be sure to teach them to your children. Talk about these commands when you sit in your house and when you walk on the road. Talk about them when you lie down and when you get up.
8. Tie them on your hands and wear them on your foreheads to help you remember my teachings.
9. Write them on the doorposts of your houses and on your gates.
Parents who happen to be followers of Jesus Christ are however warned against trying to "Teach" , even their own ward, about God as God declared that He alone is Teacher to all those who belong to Him- Jeremiah 31 vs 31 -34 and Matthew 23 vs 1 -16. undecided

Instead, what followers are enjoined in doing is to preach the Gospel of the Kingdom of God - not moral laws and ideas of them - to even their ward, without making the mistake of installing themselves as teachers/mentors/authorities/spiritual leaders over their loved ones. Sadly, since these so-called Christian parents are themselves deceived through their submitting to the leading of they call Mogs/spiritual fathers etc., gobbling down the doctrines and traditions of men instead of God's Truth - all this in disobedience of God's very own commands - they are incapable of doing that which is right in the sight of God even when it is for the good of their ward. undecided

That is the biggest reason why even those who walk around wearing the "Christian" badge are no better parents than those who are out in the world. How can a one who is filled chuck full of the lies of men - doctrines and traditions of men preached in the name of God -be expected to produce that which is of the Truth of God? undecided

Interesting way of looking at those scriptures..
But if we are to interpret those passages do way you are doing, then that means we would have to throw away almost 2/3rd of the new testament, because most of it involves teachings to specific church groups or individuals in some form. (Alot of our foundation teachings and understanding of the gospel are fleshed out within these pages).

We would also have to throw away over 2000yrs of unbroken church history traceable all the way back to the apostolic father's(A fancy name for the direct disciples of the first apostles).
Churches require leaders, teachers and elders.

We would also have to believe that immediately after the Ascension of Jesus, all the apostles lost their way, because they went about setting up church groups all over the known world , which again requires that there be teachers, pastors and leaders.

Just to mention a few.

So it's either you are right and Christianity right from the very beginning has been a sham or you are wrong and are probably missing something when interpreting those particular texts.
Just something to ponder on though...

So rather than cast aside that which does not align with God's Law, Jesus Christ, the one and only Truth of God, you will instead that we twist God's laws to bring it into conformity with the doctrines and traditions of men? undecided

1. I didn't "interpret" what is written in the Law of God. It is written in human language, and meant to be comprehended as you would any other text our there written in human language, even if previously translated from one human language to another. undecided

2. Jesus Christ declared that His followers trust and obey His teachings. He gave to the the Spirit of Truth , the one and only, to bring into knowledge of all Truths that belong to Him and only Him - the Spirit will only confirm that which conforms to the Truth of God, as taught by Jesus Christ Himself, and never that which stands in any way or form against it. undecided

Jesus Christ never asked His followers to put their trust in the teachings of the others in His flock. In fact, He ruled against it when He declare that He alone is Teacher and Rabbi over each of those belong to Him. He even went as far to reiterate the message from God through His prophets in Jeremiah 31 vs 31 -34, stating that only those who are taught by His father belong to Him. undecided

So,If your trust in instead in these "foundational teachings" and not on the Gospel itself, then is the teaching you claim to receive of God or of the doctrines and opinions of men as far as the Law of God, Jesus Christ , is concerned? undecided

Are the spirits of the authors of these "foundational teachings" included in your Salvation package for to help you in correctly receiving these core message of these teachings since the Spirit ot Truth is not given you to help you in "interpreting" the truth according to Paul or Peter or of John or James - He, the Spirit of Truth, will only teach you the Truth according to Jesus Christ. undecided

The New Covenant Law, Jesus Christ, of the Kingdom of God, has been given us from the beginning as the foundational teachings/Truth of God from the very beginning. Just like the Law of Moses before it, those of us who are bound to the New Law are called to completely submit and obey the letter of the Law, refusing all urges to add to or remove from the Law as is given. The same Law is given to all and all are expected to obey the Law as is given. undecided
