Most employers only look at your first degree and NYSC discharge certificate. But some ask for olevel especially when they need to verify age. In fact, I've experienced those that insist on primary school cert.

Having two sittings is okay but for the sake of unforeseen circumstances, you can go ahead and register for WAEC private January or December exam and have your result in one sitting.

WAEC with dates later than one's first degree admission date is usually NOT admissible for supporting related First degree based jobs. It'll look fishy.

You're right though, [Most] employers never look past one's first degree certificates.

But some do — most notably the Consulting & a few MNCs.

What he is supposed to be asking is,

" How can I start up a business from scratch"

Honestly if I knew my degree and my professional certifications won't be what I'll br feeding on, I would have just gave up on school after Secondary school.

@ bolded is the real deal now if he wants breakthrough in his finance.

Did you try to look for job ??, i believe some knowledge and exposure that you gained in college is invaluable to your current endeavor.

In all sincerity, this thread is unnecessary
It is necessary. He must be combining his studies with worries of his O'level.

It's good he's getting the advise he solicited.

I could remember being in that same shoes some years back. I still finished with second class upper in Elect. Engineering but I believed if I had put this past me earlier just maybe, you never know.

OP bear in mind that this is Nigeria.
Set a target for yourself and work towards it. It's good you have a mentor in your field and clear your mind of worries.

30k is miniscule.

But i know there are some jobs out there that pays decent salary although scarce but they exist and someone can use the resources accumulated from those gig as a launchpad to get to the final destination.

This is Nigeria where you need connection... Normal normal if Na degree and certificate and no legs, I should be sitting comfortably somewhere earning nothing less than 200k.

Anyway, I'm still gathering money to travel to an European country, I just got to know that I have been dulling myself in Nigeria. I was shocked to see how much HSE managers earn in Europe. I no mind to start with menial jobs first just ti gain the country's work permit before spreading my CV once in the country

Yeah, you right almost nothing works in Nigeria.

Travelling to distant shores to seek a new life is good.

Almost every young folks i know wants to go to Europe or North America to seek a better life, infact some don't mind Asian countries/Middle east.

Who puts granular details about O level on their CV undecided

Simple WASSC >> ${school name} >> ${Year}

Besides, the main thing companies care about is your Undergraduate degree.

Most employers don't ask for your WAEC. Infact, except for banks & maybe some government agencies, after your first two jobs nobody is interested in what you graduated with. I have a second class lower (I don't write it in my cv) and only my first job, way back in 2013, asked me about it.

They might ask you to bring original copies of your documents (to submit to hr) AFTER you've gotten the job but as long as you have your BSc nobody cares about WAEC.

Just focus on getting a good grade

Ever since I entered the university and now in my 400L currently doing my 6 months I.T in preparation for my final year (500L) I haven't gone through my qualifications intently until this morning.

Here is a problem I discovered, I made my way to the university with a 2 sittings 2014 O'level certificates in WAEC and NECO because I made a D7 in English in WAEC which is a compulsory credit subject required for admission I had to use my NECO result where I made C5 in English to back it up for a 2 sittings result though I recall they ended up using only my NECO for the O'level certificate screening that time.

Now I am concerned if this might be a problem when I graduate and decide applying for a top job. My CGPA currently is quite impressive but right now I am afraid my O'level might not be good enough due to the D7 I made in English in WAEC.

Please I need good words of advice from the experienced ones amongst us here.
Thank you

Thank you

Pls Don't allow your mind to play smart on you

For the fact that you were admitted with NECO makes you ha e a good result to go in for your BSc

If your WAEC doesn't have English, does it mean that your complete NECO is not recognised

You are good to go so far the university system accepts it
