LOL. Perhaps he was denied and that may have contributed to this outburst? The truth is that, South Africa is safer compared to Nigeria. There is an adage, " A wolu mate, iwon ara e lo mo"; rudely translated to: a stranger in a new place will continue to be respected as long as he knows his boundaries.

Firstly, if you not going for South Africa i think u dont have any problem
but if you are going there they might be problem for you oo, cause they might already place you on a ban,

Secondly WHich country you are planning to apply permanent resident for?
if they dont have link with SA i think you good

Hi everyone, pardon me that my question is quite out of place but I really do need answers as I do not know where else to check.

In 2013, I was issued a fine of overstay of 1500Rand on my way back to Nigeria. But I didn’t bother paying the fine till date. My question is, can I still pay the fine today? ( please note that I was robbed 2015 here in Nigeria so I don’t have the passport anymore).

Secondly, applying for another country’s permanent residency, will this affect me since I have not paid the fine. I do want to pay the fine now but I don’t know where exactly I should.

Also, is there a clause that says if you don't pay a fine, you're automatically be ban for a number of years? This is because someone advised that I don't need to pay again since it’s more than 5years.

Even if it was 10 years ago you would still be paying... remember they have your full details and they have recorded it on their system. The only way you can escape these fine if your details has changed.
Where the fine can be paying? You can only be paying the fine at the any point of entry in south Africa.

The fine option doesn't exist again.
The ban for over staying is now five years and since that infraction occurred in 2013 (9 years ago), he should be able to apply again

Many thanks. I do not plan to go to SA at least not anytime soon. My major concern is how to explain this to the country I’m planning on applying for residency. I want to come clean but I don’t know how to explain it. Do I say I was asked to pay a fine but I did not pay it and when one fails to pay the fine, you automatically get a five years ban? Or I was told to either pay a fine or face a 5years ban which I chose to go with the ban? Which is the right way to put it?
Is it necessary you disclose that info in the new country you are applying for its PR? Afterall the passport is lost now.

Honesty remains the best policy.

I know several people would encourage you to lie in your application and that's misrepresentation with severe penalty if you are caught.

The way the question is asked will determine respond.

Maybe justwise can weigh in here

The fact that he’s there doesn’t necessarily change the facts he has pointed out.

Rejections come under many reasons. South Africa isn’t that open to Nigeria/Nigerians. When I applied recently the hotel cancelled my reservation after two days without notifying me but visa still got issued . I don’t think they verify these bookings

Good afternoon fams, so i got my passport back today and it was denied, on the account of no proof between i and the host, meanwhile, he is my cousin.(my mom’s nephew)
And on the refusal letter, they said i can attach a written representation to the South Africa consulate general via vfs lagos.
Please house, what can I attach, how do i proof it. I want to retry it since it’s not an appeal process
Sorry about the denial. Nigerians have casted that place so denial doesn’t necessarily mean you did something wrong. In 2016 I was denied a visa and changed my holiday plans and travelled to Spain for the summer. SA would have been cheaper but didn’t feel like re-applying

Call them up and ask but not a good act on your part. High rate of visa overstay by Nigerians has helped promote the narrative that Nigerians are lawless people. Over time genuine visitors with the Nigerian citizenship have their applications denied. You also refused paying the fine.

Hello guys.
I'm currently working on a Masters application to the University of Pretoria. I'd like to know if UP offers admission w/o the SAQA certificate. I mean, do/can they allow for submission of the certificate after an applicant has been offered a place?

I look forward to your responses. Thanks.

PS. I have already e-mailed them, but I haven't heard back from them.

Actually, DHET has mandatory all SA public schools to require SAQA before applicants are guving admission but UP sometimes allows that to pass. I know of many that didn't have SAQA and they are currently on their PhD, Master or honour now.

Good day. Please, is there anyone at UP? I would love to enquire about the chances of being selected for Msc in Animal Science (Livestock Ecology) since the program seems to be very competitive. Is there a need to submit a research proposal?
