If the government is sending a warning then it’s a situation to their detriment. I’ll stick to WhatsApp then. If this is true, I can envision a future where Facebook scammers will get caught easily using all their linked social media platforms.

What stop Nigerians from Developing there own whatsapp that can go globally.

Facebook is looking for what to generate revenue from whatsapp. Since the bought WhatsApp they have been looking possible ways to make money from it's. But I think the step they are taking is the wrong time.

Instead of free whatsapp they should collect money from subscription. Sharing data with facebook is a no go area as it doesn't make any sense. I have read the policy several times and it doesn't make any sense.

Whatsapp is going to lose many subscribers for this move.

What stops you from doing it? wink

THEN ALL NIGERIANS WILL PULL OUT FROM WHATAPP AS ITS NO LONGER PRIVACY, AND THIS ACT WILL ENABLE HACKING OF VITAL INFORMATION OF OTHERS.,,

THIS IS DANGEROUS''

WE NIGERIANS SHOULD DEVELOPE OUR OWN, RATHER THAN GREED,ETHNICITY,INEQUALITY,UNFAIRNESS,POLITCAL SENTIMENTS TOWARDS THE LOVE OF MONEY,WITHOUT INDUSTRIALISATION AND TECHNOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT.

THANK YOU

Stopping scammers is not a priority to Facebook, I don't think so

Something they couldn't try in the EU they brought it here and all our government is saying is we should look for alternatives

What do you suggest they do?
Re: FG Warns Nigerians On Whatsapp New Rule by Proflere: 9:58am On May 19, 2021
The tech guys that EFCC would not allow to rest or the ones that SARS have killed and still killing?
ogmask:
If they couldnt implement the policy in the EU why bring it to Africa. The time has come for Africans to start looking at ways of using alternative platforms and possibly encourage our tech guys to come up with unique models that can compete globally.
