If it's true ISWAP killed Shekau with that daring raid then it's an indictment on our military. Infact for them to launch such attack head on on Shekau's den leave more questions than answers on the activities of the military on that theatre of operation. It's time for serious sober reflection not celebration. 13 Likes |

People are been killed almost daily in Kaduna and Niger state, the IGP of police no go tell his men to kill anything killable o. When people in epe go complain to the Nigerian police about the way heardsmen they destroy their lands, the policemen arrested the complainants. The Nigerian police needs to be fully decentralise. This police force is just so incompetent... And the way they are doing things, it might lead to another brutal civil war soon. How can you order your men to shoot anything shootable in the south east? Daft idiot. Power supply is terrible, dem no declare state of emergency on top power supply. Food inflation is now more than 20%, this is one of the highest in the world, the useless FG is not concerned about this. But they are getting an erection about IPOB... I go still blame southern politicians for all this madness sha. 3 Likes

1. I have been struggling with this since returning from my UK trip last week, but my conscience insists I must say it: @raufaregbesola the immigration services at the MMA (Lagos Airport) is a disaster. I can't believe that this Agency is under you sir/ 2. Arrived on BA at about 7.10pm. Disembarked and was in a queue for at least 2hrs 30mins. Got home at about 10pm and home is just 10minutes away from the Airport. Sir, the system there can be styled "no system" or "confused system". First step on arrival is for the COVID health/ 3. clearance which is not in your domain. On this my complaint is with the dress of the officers. They are dressed in potpourri of clothing-many colours like Joseph's. What would it take to give them T.Shirts in one colour and put a label on it Health Officer or COVID Protocol/ 4. Then the queue begins to snail towards immigration. A snail would have overtaken us many times without number by the speed of our movement. So, I set out to be objective in my analysis: (a) There are three layers of checks at the Immigration (b) First layer appears to be NDLEA 5. NDLEA had 2 desks and 2 officers- curiously one had no mask on. I asked for his mask and he picked it up from somewhere to show me. He did not have it on and we had just been subjected to a COVID test check-paid huge sums to get a test in the UK before the trip (£125) and paid 6. for the Nigerian test at N50k. So it is a huge joke to find officials not wearing masks at the NDLEA and Immigration desks. So about 2 or 3 flights arrived about the same time, so that explains the long queue, but what is grossly unconscionable is to have 2 officers of NDLEA 7. on duty to attend to over 600 passengers, knowing that without their own clearance, the immigration cannot take their turn. 2 officers created and create the bottleneck. (c) The Immigration officers process is cumbersome-one person checks something first on the passport and/ 8. then hands over the passport to another person for stamping-just plain waste of time in my opinion. In my view, the 2 officers could have been doing the checking and stamping and not one doing one process and another doing another. Again there were just too few immigration/ 9. officers on duty. We have all been to other countries. In the UK, once there is a surge of passengers, more booths are opened up to take care of the surge. Surely coming back home to one's country should not be a tedious and tiring process. Another problem is that there are / 10. way too many officers loitering who could have been put to use where they were really needed. Of course citizens were upset. Many ranted, many fumed. It was incredibly difficult to defend Nigeria with such gross ineptitude. The AC was not put on-We discovered that it was/ 11. functional after about 40 minutes of intense heat, when just easily, the ACs started emitting some cold air. Another annoying thing was the number of times that immigration officers came to the queue to call out some people for preferential treatment. There were many of us/ 12. who defended Nigeria by saying that people queue for long periods even at Heathrow or JFK, but when eventually you discover that the problem lies with processes, then you can't excuse this as it is incomparable with the queuing abroad. / 12. Dear Honourable Minister sir @raufaregbesola, the failure is yours sir. The same problem is the racketeering occurring in procurement of Passports. Let me not go there at all. I have always believed that you are the right man for the Ministry. You still have time to sort/ 13. out the rot in the Airport. Please do not fail the President @MBuhari and do not fail the nation sir. I come in peace. The end. https://twitter.com/iyaboawokoya/status/1394678997628428290?s=19 1 Like |

Boko Haram Strongman, Shekau, Dead As ISWAP Fighters Capture Sambisa Forest Shekau had surrendered and engaged in an hours-long meeting with the ISWAP fighters, where he was asked to voluntarily relinquish power. He refused and instead opted to blow himself up. Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau is dead, HumAngle has been able to gather from multiple sources. This incident took place on Wednesday evening following the invasion of the terror group’s stronghold in the Sambisa forest area by a column of Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) fighters. ISWAP, which had broken away from the Shekau-led Boko Haram faction in 2016 after pledging allegiance to the Islamic State (ISIS), raided the group’s hideout using multiple gun trucks. Shekau’s enclave was tracked down by ISWAP using its forces based in the Timbuktu Triangle. His fighters were killed in the process, followed by a long gunfire exchange between the invading group and Shekau’s bodyguards. HumAngle gathered that after his bodyguards were subdued, Shekau surrendered and engaged in an hours-long meeting with the ISWAP fighters. During the parley, he was asked to voluntarily relinquish power and order his fighters in other areas to declare Nai'a (allegiance) to ISWAP’s authority. They had expected Shekau to issue a statement. Sources within the insurgency, however, said that Shekau who secretly had a suicide vest on eventually blew himself up alongside everyone present during the negotiations. The identities of the people within ISWAP’s leadership who lost their lives to the explosion remain unclear at this time. https://humangle.ng/boko-haram-strongman-shekau-dead-as-iswap-fighters-capture-sambisa-forest/ |

Nigerian Army, Police Conduct House-To-House Raid For IPOB, ESN Members In South-East The Nigerian Army and the police intelligence response team have stormed houses in the Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi State and Igbo-Eze community to arrest suspected members of the Indigenous People of Biafra and Eastern Security Network officials in a house-to-house raid. SaharaReporters learnt that the raid started on Monday with many residents reporting that their family members, mostly young men, have been picked and taken away to undisclosed locations for questioning. SaharaReporters gathered that the military and the police carried out a similar operation in Owerri adjoining communities in Imo State and the Igwuocha (Port Harcourt) area of Rivers State. “There was a shoot-out on Douglas Road, Owerri, yesterday between the army, the police and unknown gunmen who are said to be aggrieved over the indiscriminate arrests. The army personnel are all over Onicha-Igboeze LGA and are going from house to house picking up suspected IPOB members and their families,” a source stated. “Some of our brothers were abducted here in Igwuocha (Port Harcourt) and in Borokiri (Rivers State) by the police who tagged them unknown gunmen. Our people are seriously under attack,” another source confirmed. SaharaReporters had on Saturday reported that the Nigerian Army would be having a seven-day showdown with the IPOB and ESN in an apparent show of force and had moved in new ammunition and explosives into the 34 Artillery Brigade in Obinze, near Owerri in Imo State. SaharaReporters had learnt from reliable military sources that the army planned to blow off some of its expired military hardware, including explosives, in order to create panic for the IPOB and ESN militants and wade them off security stations. The 34 brigade also confirmed this on Friday, saying the use of explosives would last from May 14 to May 21. SaharaReporters had also last Friday reported that the Nigerian military had drafted reinforcement troops from some of its formations fighting insurgency in Borno State to join the troops in the South-East region over the military’s clash with IPOB and ESN operatives. Military sources had confirmed to SaharaReporters that the reinforcements were drawn from some battalions including the 231 Tank Battalion in Biu, Borno State, which is under the 3 Armoured Division, Jos, Plateau State. “Yes, some troops are moving from the North-East to the South-East as reinforcements. They started moving from Wednesday. Among them are those from the 231 Tank Battalion; they are believed to be more trained in quelling uprisings,” a top source had confirmed. President Muhammadu Buhari had on Tuesday held a meeting with the service chiefs and the Inspector-General of Police at the Presidential villa, Abuja, telling them to adopt certain security measures in the South-East and the South-South geopolitical zones of the country. http://saharareporters.com/2021/05/19/nigerian-army-police-conduct-house-house-raid-ipob-esn-members-south-east |

They had expected Shekau to issue a statement. If this is true, then the Civil War might continue a while longer, Shekau should have already have a line of succession and his successor or successors would want to continue the war(I pray they do because they might chicken out and surrender). 7 Likes 1 Share |

Lets not rejoice over shakau death, we should be very wary of Iswap. Their mission is to conquer part of bornu state, the only obstacle for their control is Shakau, he has been eliminated. Now another battle is on the way. Eliminating Shakau does not mean the battle is over. What it means is that bokoharam members will give their alliances fo Iswap meaning more fighters for Iswap. Remember Iswap mission, to create a caliphate. 1 Like |

Many residents and passengers are currently stranded in Oshodi, Lagos State, as soldiers have taken over major places in the area. Daily Trust gathered that the military personnel stormed the area on Thursday morning to avenge the death of an officer of the Nigerian Air Force, who was allegedly mobbed to death by hoodlums. Many vehicles, especially commercial buses have been destroyed, while some persons were assaulted by the aggrieved security operatives. Some residents heading to work were trapped in the ensuing violence while students have fled back home. Traders cleaning up their stores on the day of the weekly sanitation also fled just as some transporters abandoned their vehicles. Soldiers targeting hoodlums are currently marching across the streets. The situation has compounded the traffic woe in the cosmopolitan city as there is currently no movement in and out the part of Oshodi where the rampaging soldiers are. Oshodi links other major parts of Lagos and a major bus terminal is in that part of the state. Muyiwa Adejobi, Police Public Relations Officer in the state, was not available for comments as of the time of filing this report as he neither responded to calls nor replied the text message sent. https://dailytrust.com/breaking-many-stranded-as-soldiers-take-over-oshodi-in-lagos 1 Like
