Why I joined APC- Ayade

Jeesuuu!!! Why are our politicians like this? Buharis' nationalistic display? They speak like they are talking to scoundrels like them. You will all reap the fruits of your actions someday.
Re: Ayade: Why I Left PDP To Join APC by Dasini: 7:10pm On May 20, 2021
Checking through this thread, many supporters of PDP here are unhappy with AYADE, mostly our South South and South East Brothers with few from other parts. Am sure it is because of their permutations ahead of next election. Are we truly out for a better Democratic experience? My answer is NO.
Most people condemning APC here, majority are emotionally with PDP, the same Party that failed us for 16years that laid the foundation of poverty. But when APC supporters are out, they call for their heads for supporting their party. What an intolerance? When Ortom crosses, they were happy, Ortom is among the three worst Governors in Nigeria by every indice if not the worst, they see nothing wrong with his poor performance in Benue. Ayade has done far better than the likes of Ikpeazu (Governor of Abia State) still in PDP, one would have expected these lovers of Democracy to call such a Governor out for condemnation.
The Nigeria of your dreams cannot come when you support failure because they belong to your party, and you hate the other party. They pretend like they have saints in their beloved PDP and look for opposition Governors to destroy, not minding wether such Governor is working. It is not about the love they have for Democracy, it is still about wishing the same party that started the legacy of failure continue.
Wether AYADE crosses or not for personal reasons or because he is out for favor. Many more will still cross in and out of both parties, and it won’t change a thing....Many sound here like, APC won’t have votes coming elections, I doubt. Politics is not played on nairaland, do we really understand here how these guys play their politics. We need to realize this is the stage of our politics in Nigeria, and we will get over it someday. Most of the nations we compare ourselves to, have experienced similar, but better today.
As for Nairaland, this is a great platform, reduce you r involvement, you guys should not be partisan, make this platform a place for all. because most of the stuffs you roll out reeks of bias, I can see write ups tending towards a party than the other. And in fairness, PDP and APC, one will say no difference, but while the earlier had 16years of rule, the later had spent little time. Again Nairaland, objectivity is what will keep making your platform to be relevant and strengthen it and make it a voice for now and future. Like AYADE said earlier”PDP has been using social media to create bad image for this government, weather true or not” AYADE’s statement may not wished away. No one is saying this government does not have its weaknesses, and issues, but condemnation everytime can also add to the situation on ground.

Just a passerby

Do some findings, at least there are some people from CRS here.

A Governor that is a political liability, that was made a "pariah" in his State. When Umahi left, you know say man left..na Ayade?

grin grin grin cheesy

These Govs they lost were always in the APC.....Na waoh...at least ask nah grin

The only way for him out here... is unless he begins to corner NA-members to his side.
Just say you're pained lol..... A governor that took along with himself the entire house of assembly, the entire local government chairmen and councillors, entire state exco etc can not be said to be a pariah. Even umahi couldn't carry everyone along with him to the Apc. However you look at it, it's a huge plus for the failed ruling party. Politics is a game of number my brother and these numbers will count in due season.

Pained?

Who appoints entire State Exco?
Where do you think their problems started from? It is from the Chairmen and Councillors he unilaterally picked nah.

Ayade left PDP in 2016.

Hahaha....ask garfield1 who is from that State.

When a Governor leaves in our type of politics, it is always a plus but someone like Ayade will do extra to get anything, because he doesn't have clout.

As early as 2016, PDP has regretted picking him and even went to the Supreme Court to insist Ayade wasn't their candidate. So Ayade found succour in the ruling party.

Immediately, he won that case...he sidelined everybody and conducted LG elections where people like Imoke couldn't even have a say.

He was already a marked man...he had only one option and that is what he did. Why do you think they used the SC to play Odey in a decision I morally still question.

Fergie, need I remember you that commissioners resigned from the excos of the government of umahi and obaseki but they were appointed by the governors. Some of them resigned and refused to go with them when they defected. Some lga chairmen didn't follow obaseki too. My point is that a governor who can move with so much faithfuls just can't be a pariah. These numbers will count in due season. Hahahahaha....ur guy obaseki don scatter he new party for Edo State.

I explained up there.

The ones who didn't go with Obaseki were loyal to Oshio and stuck.

The ones who didn't follow Umahi were mainly Anyim's boys.

But Ayade sidelined everybody...that is where the problem is from. Why do you think they ganged up against him?

Ok...How many Commissioners remained with Obaseki and how many resigned....laslas wetin be scores?

It is not number.....It is Political Clout.

You know what...Sincerely ask garfield1 who is a strong supporter of APC..... Don't compare....Umahi is working, Edo is a PDP State, save for Guber. Can you compare?

Obaseki won with propaganda and he's already being exposed in the state. People eyes don dey clear. Like I said, these people will vote and mobilized votes for their new party. So that'll count definitely and the financial muscle of the governor will also count. So anyhow you look at it, it's a plus for the Apc

Hahahahahahahaha.....like Akpabio, or Uduaghan?

It is a General election, all man for himself oooo. If it is an off-cycle election FINE.

Once it is a General Election, all elections become local. You can even see the feedback since he defected abi....

I'm happy I didn't support him same with buhari. Go and see what he's doing to pdp now. A governor is a huge plus anytime any day. You'll see the figures when the time comes. We'll compare it with previous elections. Akpabio and uduaghan were not sitting governors.

What is he doing to PDP?
PDP are just taking precautionary measures because they don't totally trust him. Obaseki is a "Buhari son" and PDP knows it...so they don't want to give him everything.

If they had given Ayade his way....he would have moved with the 3 Senators and several House of Reps members. Obaseki isn't doing anything....they are just playing politics.

Let me ask you....Do you think if Ambode had defected to the PDP he would have won the 2019 elections?

You know the answer to that...... Many will say YES, but majority of that many don't stay in Lagos.

Ayade's only weapon now is to pull NA-members, and hope for the best.

Ayade may be a failure or a non performer or lacking in political clout but he is a governor and in nigeria,a governor has power.he is an emperor.none of those people in pdp one on one can fight ayade head on.ayade defection is a plus and will strengthen or even the odds.pdp will still likely win the governorship but it will be very tough.you and I know that apc will win a lot more positions like 10 assembly seats,3-5 reps and one senate at least.ayade will win the crs north senate,it is a given and most seats in the north will go apc....

Unfortunately, ayade doesn't need those nass members.they need ayade.apart from essien ayi and dansuki, none of them can win without government might.ayade helped gershom, helped etta mbora, helped sandy onor, helped mike etaba, helped Chris agibe, helped jarigbe and legor and most of the Assembly members.his defectiom is a minus to pdp no matter how you look at it.what do you think all those 6000 appointees are for?

He defected with half of pdp or more.key pdp men like hon Joseph bassey, victor ekpo etc went with him

In Edo pdp there's suspension and counter suspension on a daily between a faction loyal to obaseki and that loyal to the present state exco. The party is currently factionalized because the emperor governor wants to take over the structure of the party. Ayade moved with some national assembly members. Remember even in the case of umahi,he couldn't move with many national assembly members infact they dissociated themselves from his move. That press conference was led by senator Sam Egwu. Ambode may not have won but he would've shaken Apc in Lagos if he had crossed to run under pdp.

1. Ambode wouldn't have won...shake or no shake.

2. If you know Umahi's antecedents from his ANPP days, you will understand that Ebonyi PDP needs to be on its toes. You will be wise to know that Umahi has NA-members that are loyal to him and will move.....he isn't just playing his cards out yet.

Ayade was pushed out of PDP not that he just defected.

3. The Edo PDP isn't factionalised, there is just internal wrangling.

4. Who are the NA members Ayade moved with?

It's in the realm of speculation to say they'll move with umahi because what we know today is that they didn't follow the governor so let's leave it there. Don't forget also that obaseki was pushed out too ,he didn't defect.

You agreed with me that it would not have been easy for sanwo olu if ambode contested against him under pdp. Like I said he may not have won but the figures would've been totally different.

Ayade had Steve odey and three reps members with him today, more may follow.

If you say there's no problem in Edo pdp then you must be related to lai Mohammed.

Others who were present at the Executive Chambers of the Governor’s Office who are to join him include Senator Stephen Odey of Northern district of the state, Mr. Legor Idagbo representing Obudu/Obanlikwu/ Bekwara Federal constituency, and Mike Etaba of Obubra/Etung federal constituency in the House of Representatives

Edo is a PDP State, I have mentioned that before. Except for Guber, it is a PDP State. APC don't command a following in CRS.
