You are insulting him, but you can't cite a single project to dispute his claims. Mind you second niger niger bridge is a product of foreign loan and never will ever be completed . Moreover it is a federal project

My adoration of this Anambra airport isn't because it's the first state airport. But its the first project i have seen in Nigeria so far done at the highest quality and speed without indebting the state or making it such low quality because they didn't borrow.

Truly i was pleasantly surprised that Anambra state built an airport bigger than Asaba airport that took more than 10 years and more than 50 billion naira
When did we igbos become this hopelessly deluded ? There is NOTHING special about the airport in Umuleri and that is even within the mediocre Nigerian environment. Bayelsa, Delta, Imo, Akwa Ibom have all built airports with state funds. The only difference with umuleri is that the latter uses structural steel which for the backward people of Nigeria is akin to going to the moon. Structural steel is a 1960s technology that allows you to build in months what block layers take years to build so nothing special there.

Again I ask what is the VALUE of an airport in Anambra built by a government with less than 100b in annual revenue in a state that lacks good transport infrastructure particularly in the cities. Enugu, Asaba airports transport less than 1m people annually. Meanwhile at Xmas you can't go most places across Anambra because the mostly one lane roads are choked with traffic from visitors. Can Onitsha handle 1m vehicles? Can Awka? I doubt they can. There are less then 10,000 keke, shuttle in Awka and you already see traffic snarls on Zik Avenue or Oby Okoli. Or try Awka Rd or Iweka to see what its like.

I realised and concluded yesterday that our state capital is in shambles and needs lots and lots of work. Major problem is ROADS,,lack of access roads jeez!

Now that the police command has blocked the main route...commuters are not finding it funny. Transport has gone up by 100%.
I was to get to Enugwu ukwu yesterday by public transport since my car wasn’t available at that time,,,my pple that was when I knew d wahala wey this UGM brought to us...with very limited tarred roads commuters are left to take through streets and more streets...roads ain’t tarred so d stress and plenty gallops cry Guys pple are going through a lot. Those tiny untarred roads in d streets commuters ply as alternatives in my opinion can be disastrous and unsafe especially now that pple are going missing and disappearing...some are lonely and looks like a walk paths.

Pls we need roads fixed in d state capital and better alternative routes for commuters in cases of issues like this one near future. cry

Demonic frustrated cursed night owl common shut up your demonic mouth there. Kindly show us one state government project in the entire SE since 19999 that's bigger than this Anambra international. Barbaric bush man, why not also mention Lagos-Ibadan railways

[s]
mktinsight:
Bushman this is not single biggest project in SE since 1999. The single biggest project is the second Niger Bridge valued at almost 400 billion Naira not this puny 400 passenger capacity local airport. The single biggest private investment in Anambra state was the Hero brewery in Onitsha.
[/s]
Re: Update on developments in Anambra state-photos by MysteryShopper:
Useless post from a hopeless frustrated useless demented old night owl. There's everything SPECIAL about the ANAMBRA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT.

1. It is the only STANDARD INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT IN SE NIGERIA

2. ANAMBRA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT IS THE ONLY AIRPORT IN IGBO LAND WITH THE LONGEST RUNWAY THAT CAN LAND ANY TYPE OF JET ON THE WORLD.

3. ANAMBRA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT IS THE ONLY AIRPORT IN IGBO LAND THAT'S TRULY AN INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT.

4. ANAMBRA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT IS THE INTERNATIONAL GATEWAY TO THE EASTERN NIGERIA.

I can go on and on why it is a very SPECIAL PROJECT.

As for roads, as at today, Anambra has the best road networks(both dual and single lanes) in the entire igbo land.

There's no much difference in public between festive seasons and non festive n Anambra, because Anambra is a destination for most igbos and none igbo, that's why Anambra has the largest population in igbo land and among the tops in Nigeria.

This is how dumb you could be because of your bitterness and envy, steel is the 21st century technology. Most of those high rise buildings in America were built with steel. Blockwork is quite outdated. Even bridges are now being built with steel in the Western world because concrete is quite outdated.

Mktinsight, I thought you said that Anambra international airport would never be completed, but you have been disgraced and humiliated once again.

For instance, you mentioned Imo, Bayless and Akwaibom, can you in all.honesty compare the nonsense airports in those places to the one in Anambra? Lets even start with the tower building..lol

Mktinsight, go and die, because Anambra international airport is the best and Anambra is the best in the entire eastern Nigeria.

Re: Update on developments in Anambra state-photos by MysteryShopper:
You are just spewing nonsense. You are not the only one living in Anambra, so stop thinking you can deceive anyone. It is your life that's in shambles not anywhere in Anambra. Awka is the fastest developing and best developing city in Nigeria aside Abuja. Anambra generally has the best road networks. Maybe you are living in the forest somewhere and not in the Awka city. This is the Awka where I live, I don't live in the bush like you. Took this pictures as I was coming from work yesterday. For instance, you can't be living in Nyanya or Mararaba and be claiming to be living in Abuja city. Big difference.

Someone of these clowns are living by other people's validation, they lack confidence and are always drawn in inferiority complex. Mktinsight is another animal with such inferiority complex condition. cheesy

They don't want us to rejoice over our own development, but they want us to always dwell on nonsense while living the huge transformation going on in Anambra. They are mistaken because we shall continue to loud this international airport until all these bitter miscreants are shut down cheesy

Only a mumu like mktinsight, will neglect stell structure in modern airport terminal. And be claiming rubbish.

You are talking about terminal building which shows you are a mumu, even that Anambra Airport terminal is the Nigeria today, it's designed to take minimum of 400passengers and maximum of 1200passengers at a time and with the steel structure anambra airport terminal will be easy to expand in future time

Yet you are not talking about the 3.7km runway with 2km resa making it 5.7km, with the most modern and best control tower in Nigeria, fire station, A1 jet refuel aviation farm, 2 standard taxiways and has a lot of future development. Even for rail line which has been mapped out already
Airpeace has been certified and givien enough land to build a maintenance hanger which construction will start soon.
Alot of investors are coming for investments in the alot, alot of people are coming for Cargo sheds and warehouses and other things

and according to commissioner of works, this is the first phase and once the Airport is completed and certified they will start the second phase (Rome wasn't built in a day) that's why they have Anambra International Airport Delivery and supervising team AIADT

And impression is that there is no planned Airport like Anambra International Cargo and Passenger Airport

Why Steel Structures Are First Choice for Airport Operations?

In terms of aviation infrastructure, steel plays a vital role in airport construction and provides the aviation industry’s essential infrastructure. Steel is always the best choice for airport construction. Steel is effectively helpful for infrastructure applications in nearly every airport construction in the world.

Steel is becoming more common in newly built outdoor areas at airports around the country and around the world. This trend indicates that airport construction viewpoints and avoidances suggest that steel products are more suitable than others for airport construction. The use of steel offers high resistance to corrosion, coating, or coating stainless steel with low glare and a long life cycle for the whole structure.

There are specific requirements for serviceable airport buildings with steel only.

* Steel offers flexibility in making structural changes that are needed later.
* Steel accommodates a wide variety of equipment.
* It provides the structure with the flexibility required to allow for additional modules.

The steel properties meet the airport structure requirements for light and economic structures that meet the safety and stability criteria. Whereas other architectural metals have a limited lifespan

Swing, steel strength. Steel is considered environmentally friendly because of its relative inertia.

Some of the main reasons for choosing steel structure over the other are-

Usage Flexibility
There are specific requirements for building an airport that is present in the steel. Steel offers the flexibility to change the structure at a later date if necessary. Any airport requires a large building without columns so that passengers can pass quickly and have a pleasant experience.

You cannot do it by building bricks and mortar, which required columns and supports every few meters. The flexibility of steel allows the building to have smaller pillars and a more comprehensive building.

Safe and Sustainable
Steel is very resistant to corrosion and coated, or uncoated stainless steel helps increase the structure’s longevity and makes it durable without being easily damaged. The fact that the steel structure is lightweight, economical, and meets all safety and durability criteria.

Quick To Construct
Prefabricated buildings that use high-quality corrosion-resistant steel are helpful for structures in aerospace infrastructure. It takes very less time to finish a project than to build bricks and mortar. It also saves labor costs, as well as the labor costs you have to operate. Record as early as possible.

You Have Design Freedom
Architects love working with steel because steel offers more design freedom in texture, shape, and color. The inherent durability, strength, flexibility, and precision allow designers to work with a broader range of parameters while exploring different ideas and offering modern solutions.

With steel, builders can also create large open spaces without the need for columns or retaining walls to interfere. It is multifunctional because it can be bent at different angles, creating segmented curves or abstract combinations for facades, domes, and arches. Hence there is no end to experimentation and adaptation with steel.

Highly Efficient
Steel is very efficient because it assembles quickly and easily at any time of the year. Since parts produce off-site, there are minimum requirements for on-site work.

Steel is also advantageous for heavier terrain, as it allows less ground contact and thus minimizes the digging required.

Eco friendly
Some green initiative builders prefer steel to make construction projects environmentally friendly. Unlike other materials, steel is a renewable source that is much more durable and efficient. Therefore, steelworks in combination with other environmental substances for environmentally friendly construction projects.

Conclusion

Make steel structures quickly using a prefabricated production process. They can be installed quickly and require no rework after installation. “Another requirement of modern airports is the use of glass. Glass, especially on the aerial side, provides excellent soundproofing and visibility for passengers at the terminal. The structural steel used in airports today can secure glass facades at great distances and heights.

While all stained steel shares certain basic characteristics, some can be very different from the others. This makes choices for certain applications that are very critical processes, especially when the cost, reliability of components and durability, compliance with original equipment specifications, and aviation safety is the main consideration. The problem becomes more critical when the fabrication or repair process involves welding and close contact with other metals in service.

Re: Update on developments in Anambra state-photos by Rocksvibes234: 8:25am On May 21, 2021
Yes, Anambra State might be the first state to build an airport but they the first and only state to build an international standard Airport with international certification and certified standard international contractor

Bayelsa, Delta, Imo, akwa ibom airport runway is designed for Boeing 737 and critical to Boeing 737 while Anambra International Airport runway is designed for Airbus A380 and critical to Boeing 747 and Airbus A380. Let me not talk about the control tower or terminal building and other facilities.

Ok, thanks for the correction. I decided to make some research and enquires. Anambra has already been recognized as an Oil producing state since 2018 nah? The issue Obiano had with the SEEPCO has to do with illegalities and environmental neglect. The question is, does the Anambra government receive the 13% from profits? Oil producing state status does not put any food on the table. If it's being paid, then what is the complaint about?
You are welcome

Stop spewing nonsense. Yes Anambra international airport is not a small project. Building an airport from the scratch: terminal building, tower building, 3.7km runway, fire building, 6- lanes airport roads, etc, all at ones is not a child's play. Show us one airport built by any state government in Nigeria that matches Anambra international airport in sophistication and beauty.

Ask that your friend to show us the one built by his state government, lets compare notes.

We don't care what you miscreants from other states thinks, but the fact is that this singular airport is the single biggest project in southeast since 1999. So we have to rejoice, if you don't like it, then take a hike.

Besides if the police command road remains blocked till the Yuletide season, that’s when everyone will feel what I have just outlined. The rains are here those alternate tiny untarred roads being used by commuters now will be so stressed and may cause further damage/erosion. The govt needs to do something fast.

Then that a sitting governor allows a police station to block a major access road causing untold hardship to citizens is a disgrace. The same Nigerian police force that can't even fuel their vehicles without begging for money? NPF who Obi walled several of their stations for them since they couldn't even buy simple 120 naira block?

ANSG should help them to relocate their entrance gates away from Zik Avenue to the side road near ASUDEB where they can mount their blockade without interfering with traffic.

As for Awka the next governor should build many connecting access roads to free up zik avenue. The market should be relocarwd entirely and same goes for all markets along zik avenue to Onitsha like Afor Igwe. All markets should have side entrances and enough parking like shopping malls not 5,000 10x10 shops like rats. This is 2021.

Shut up this illiterate. No one needs your suggestions on anything. You have shown you are very empty upstairs. Blocking of roads is not peculiar to Anambra, go to Port Harcourt, almost all roads leading to police stations are blocked and causing even more traffic problems than in Anambra, just like in other states. This is entirely a security situation.
