YOU SAY WAHALA BE LIKE WETIN AGAIN??

Last week Saturday I got a call that I have to be in Yola on Monday morning.

I frantically got a flight ✈️to Abuja scheduled for Sunday and another one scheduled for Yola to Abuja on Monday morning, trip went well, did what I had to do and everything was perfect .
I scheduled my trip for yesterday ( Wednesday) back to Kano but due to my acute Phobia of flying and flying on a plane is always my last resort as a means of transportation( if you want to see me tense, anxious and edgy tell me I have to enter plane) and with the recent mishaps of my available options of flying back to Kano ( Max Air and Aero Contractors) I decided to go back to Kano by road.

The plan was to go to Gombe on Wednesday, spend the night in Gombe and see my former Boss and then leave for Kano as early as possible to take care of business having been out of office for the whole week.

Yesterday I went to Gombe and met my former oga at the top, I pleaded with him to get me a reliable car to take me to Kano, out of his generosity he offered his car and his driver and we scheduled our departure for 6am, by 6:30am we have departed for Kano and the drama began.

About 1 hour into our journey and just a few kilometres to Dukku the car broke down , I came down and saw Bush left right and centre and my mind was like for this Kidnapping era, I was like abeg oo.
I told the driver to wait by the car while I go to Dukku
to get a car that will tow us to Dukku ( the nearest town) .

I actually wanted to leave that place because I don't want stories that touch the heart.

I got to Dukku, got a car, agreed a price to go tow the car. We went back towed the car to Dukku asked the mechanic how much it will cost to fix the car and paid because I decided it was too risky to continue the journey with the car I decided to charter a car to take me to Kano .

I got the normal golf commercial car ,we haggled with the driver over price and finally settled for 13k to Kano. I gave him 10k and told him I will balance him.

I called my oga at the top and briefed him and instructed the driver to go back to Gombe when the car is fixed and we started our journey with my new found driver, a distance of about 300kms.

About 100km into our journey

Driver : Alhaji wallahi bacci nake ji ( Alhaji wallahi I am feeling sleepy )

Me: Me!! Bacci kake ji? ( What? You are feeling sleepy )

Driver: wallahi Alhaji jiya karfe biyun dare na dawo daga Abuja kuma ban samu nayi bacci ba ( I came back from Abuja around 2am and I didn't sleep)

Me : Maza kayi parking ka bani motor ( oya Park and give me the car)

He parked and I collected and started to drive.

Of course it was a jalopy but I was like na dis jalopy we sef dey drive before before God begin shawa us with His blessings so no lele . I go drive amm

I myself have not slept getting only about 3 hours of sleep but I never sleep during a journey no matter how tired I am or stressed.

First observation
Any speed above 100km/hr the car will begin wobbling as if it will skid off the road grin

Second observation
Any sudden break the car wil beginl wobbling and begin to skid of the road grin

Third observation
The car is always trying to go left so I have to always stir the wheels right to keep the car at the center. grin

And my driver is thier snoring cry

15kms to Kano he wakes up
Driver: Alhaji ko in karbe ka cheesy ( Alhaji should I collect the car cheesy )

I was too angry to answer angry

Two minutes later
Driver: Alhaji bamu samu jumma'a ba ( Alhaji we didn't get Friday prayers)
I kept quiet again

Before you know it he is back to sleep .

Next time he opened his eyes we were at NNPC Mega Station ( Hotoro)

He stretched ,yawned and thanked God for journey mercy

Very hilarious narrative. You took quite a risk with the road drive considering the security situation.
