SUSPEND meaning PAUSE and not STOP that is DISCONTINUE. post market surveillance will continue to be done as long as the vaccine is in use as a safety feature and many of these PAUSES will be seen followed by a resumption of the vaccine or another brand of it.

Now under medicines, we have drugs and vaccines. They are both different even though they belong under medicines.

Let's start with drugs e.g antibiotics. This class of drugs were invented more than a century ago with the "penicillins". The interesting thing about DRUGS is that the drugs use to treat a certain infection a 100 years ago for example pneumonia is not the SAME DRUG used to treat pneumonia TODAY and guess what in the FUTURE the drugs we are using to treat pneumonia today wont be the same DRUGS we will use in like the year 2050. That's cause of 2 key factors.

One is microorganism can MUTATE on their OWN or through DRUG RESISTANCE and form a more powerful microorganism that wont be affected by that old drug, so a new drug has to be made to STOP the new more powerful strain. Two, So the THING with Drugs is that IT CAN BE USED TO TREAT a disease in a population BUT THAT DISEASE WILL NEVER EVER GO AWAY FROM THAT POPULATION, RATHER IT WILL GO AND COME BACK BUT EVEN WORSE THAN BEFORE.

Bearing this in mind VACCINES WERE MADE. THEY WERE MADE TO DO EXACTLY THAT WHICH DRUGS CANNOT DO- that is COMPLETELY ERADICATE A PARTICULAR DISEASE FROM A POPULATION COMPLETELY OR FOREVER. That way the disease doesn't reoccur in the future because it was killed once for all time. Examples include smallpox, polio, rubella, diphtheria etc. This total and complete eradication is only possible at a POPULATION LEVEL WHEN AT LEAST 60-100% of the population has been vaccinated (including healthy people) to ACHIEVE HERD IMMUNITY.


We have vaccination programs for other disease like measles, typhoid, HPV, hepatitis etc but those disease have not be completely eradicated because the GOAL OF VACCINATION has not been to create HERD IMMUNITY by vaccinating 60-100% of the population but rather to ONLY VACCINATE high risk individuals which are a few thousand or million people. If we vaccinated the whole population some of those diseases may have been gone forever by now.


For covid19, global vaccination is KEY at the moment because the virus is new and hasnt yet mutated to many different strains. This is VERY IMPORTANT because usually VACCINES are made for a certain strain of the virus or maybe for 2 or 3 strains. The longer time it takes to vaccinate people, lets say in YEARS ( LIKE 5 YEARS) you can have up to 10-20 different strains, so as such, it would be difficult to make a vaccine against all 20 strains. Infact before you are done making the vaccine which will take at least 2 years -10 years, those 20 strains would have become 80 strains, so the vaccine would be USELESS on arrival.

I just got back from having my Coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine.

Got to say I'm tired because I stopped off at the market and bought some ox tail and goat meat and strawberries that look like they were hand carved! But apart from that, buda is just fine.

Nope, no form. Got a txt to book appointment at my doctor's and turned up and got jabbed. The NHS is super efficient like that.

It's day 5 post vaccination and I havent had a single SIDE EFFECT. This is my own personal experience, so for others who have taken theirs, what's your personal experience?

Day 2. Just like any other day except that I walked a lot yesterday and was tired so I went to bed early and woke up very early.

I am fine and well. Funny thing my other colleagues took the vaccine when they found out I did.

They were simply AFRAID, but seeing me take it, they followed suit.

Its 2 weeks now

Had my second Astra Zeneca today, 8 weeks after the first. I went shopping afterwards, as there's a market by my doctors, and I've been cooking since I got back, so I expect to be exhausted.

I have remained fine after the first jab and expect my fineness to continue after this second jab.

Oh! As in, do I get a third jab? I thought you meant had anyone else had a second jab.

I've read rumours of annual topups, but I guess they must wait for the evidence to see if it would be required. So far, two is the required dosage.
