I have about 13 if not mistaken. Though I rarely have money in all of them but one thing I learnt with these banks is that except you have mega money, they are not always reliable. So any time I feel like, I open any bank I don't have before.

For example I am trying to ease myself from MMF to TB now that rates are are gradually improving and the plan was to do it gradually by spreading my little funds across many auction. I applied last TB auction with Stanbic and was told it wasn't successful. Did same again this week but haven't heard from them yet. If it does not sail through this time, na to move to another bank be that. That won't be easy I restrict myself to just a bank

I am a salary earner. Used a current account with one bank for just about 7 years then they started having issues with their service and unnecessary closure of branches. I have to collect letter of Non-indebtedness and move to my other bank current account. No time...

That's just about it..just for convenience...

Wanted to cropped out part of my post on that uber thread where I mentioned that I wanted to invest heavily on transport hence my adventures in driving just to know the pros and cons of the business but I won't, reasons are: if you tell an empty barrel man that he's nothing, he could go to any lengths to proof he's something just like you are doing but when you tell a real man he worth nothing, he will just shrug and smile it off, because the real worths dwell in you ,not what you are able to confuse people you are.

If all bank customers are like you, how will banks make money

Every customer cannot be like me. Most banks have Mega money holders/owner that gets better and more reliable services. Even at that, they still make money from customers like me too.

They will make money because like every other customer if I was to collect loan from them, I will pay them back at the agree interest rate and timeframe. If not it gets restructured at their terms. Also I do transfers and get charged. I subscribe TB other investment through them and get charged.

I use ATM cards of some of them that to me are reasonably reliable (I buy the ATM card and pay them for its maintenance quarterly). Where I am not close to my bank, I used other banks ATM which most times are deliberately set-up to dispense only 10k & this get me to pay them extra charges if I am to withdraw more than N30,000.

Like every customer, I buy check booklets and in some banks in deposit Slips from them at premium prices.

Sometimes, if I mistakenly leave any reasonable money on my account, they use it for their own business and may not even bother to give me any returns on it. Thank God for them, the CBN has made it easier for them by drastically reducing the interest rates on savings.

They send their customers unsolicited test messages which sometimes may not deliver but to customers but they get charged for it...

I collect my bank statement from them for a fee. Same is for the collection of the letter of non indebtedness.


Will all the above and more they will still make money if all of their customers are like me.

I have two(savings and current/salary) in zenith, one in union(savings, account popsy handed over to me) one in UBA(savings opened for scholarship fund from school days), one in stanbic(savings for Tbills) and three in first bank(savings, current and dorm) also have 6 joint accounts I have 100% control at first bank. Joint accounts are for my wife, kids and adopted sons/scholars.

Please that doesn't mean I have millions in all of them oooo before I hear shout of audio, apart from children account the rest are not holding account but just transit points for investment.

4 accounts in different banks.
2 are purely savings accounts, 1 entirely untouched, fees come out from the other.
2 are for transactions, those are the cards in the wallet swiped in the supermarket or used for online bill payment, those accounts only contain a float topped up as it falls below specific limits.
No cards annexed to the two savings accounts, shared between two banks because I've been a victim of bank failures in Nigeria twice.
