It's very sad that he has to end his life this way and I also believe that this is pure political assassination but you will start hearing stuffs like UGM killed him because he died at owerri, etc. Politics in Nigeria has been deadly since time immemorial..

Why hold the state politicians hostage? The hit could have been coordinated by a politician that is not from or resident in imo state. Infact 80% of the time, hits like this are instructed by politicians not resident in the area to avoid suspicion. Take for instance, if Governor Wike wants to pull a hit job on Amaechi, you think he will do it in Rivers State? Or if Obaseki wants to hit Oshomole, you think he will pull the hit in Edo state? That will be a very dumb thing to do as all fingers will immediately point to them. So I don't think holding the state politicians hostage is a good idea as the hit could have been coordinated from far far away.
