Don't over-hype lagos .Much of Lagos is battling same problem we have in the East.Unless we make away with this unitary government, no SE city will be like that in 50 years time.
Don't you see that the only places in Nigeria (lagos & Abuja)which can be compared to some developed cities world wide are the cities that has had Federal funds dedicated to developing them ?
And that is why lagos is pushing to be recognized as a special status state.
If Nigeria have had a president who can devote 1 trillion Naira for 4 consecutive years on Infrastructure alone, across Nigeria's most important cities, we can have cities like that- but Nigeria hasn't had a working president since independence.
Nepotism clouds everything in this country.
Imagine infusing 40 billion per year into Onitsha,Aba, owerri and Enugu just for infrastructure alone- for 4 consecutive years ?
Replicate it allover the zones in Nigeria and you get to see miracles happen
.For a country with over 3 trillion Naira burgers,we can do this if the will is there

Infuse the billions of government funds in building Owerri, Onitsha, Enugu, Aba every year for four consecutive years.

But invest pittance or nothing in building and maintaining infrastructures in Nsukka, Orlu, Okigwe, Nnewi etc; and in the other local government areas in the east -

- be assured, shortly after the four years, urban slums like the ones in Abuja and Lagos shall spring up nearer those towns you invested the billions, while devastation and arrested development are what you shall get in the towns government invested pittance.

Ndi let IMSG build Owerri to mega city, let crumble the other urban towns in Imo state; there is no amount of bizarre suggestions you people will not make to IMSG over your desire for Owerri.

Niger Delta does not exist in the intellectual sense. When River Niger and River Benue formed a confluence in Lokoja, the flow toward southern protectorate is no longer River Niger.
From Lokoja to the Atlantic Ocean, two rivers that merged are not given the recognition the merger deserves.

Anyhow, Niger Delta Nomenclature is another divide and rule tactic devised by those for who Nigeria’s civil war was won. They use it as stick or carrot depending on the situation at hand.
Unfortunately, the people in the so-called Niger delta area struggle to identify with the name because of the little percentage from derivation paid to the states in that Niger delta area, according to amount of oil resources from every state in the area.

There is no possible way to uplift the whole of Imo state at once .You develop gradually, then spread to the outskirts.
That's how it has always been and will continue to be.
Do you think imo has the necessary funds to urbanise the whole of imo state at a go?

The government should consider an amnesty to curtail proliferation of light weapons especially around the nexus of ohaji, oguta, oru and orlu

we love it that way. Thank you for your concern

Of course, you will love it that way because you don't live in Imo State. You have no idea how this violence is affecting everyday people.

Unfortunately, the things we do here cannot change what happens out there.

A Yoruba adage says: "It's easy to start a fight, but nobody knows when and how it will end."
