Apart from the appointment letter, payment receipt and international please which other documents I'm I suppose to take for my upfront medical at qlife
Please anyone else can give a response
Thank you
Teenie19:

Hey! My sis used IOM so it’s a bit different but yes when you get there you can tell them it’s upfront for study permit. Just make sure you have the required documents and your UCI #

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 19 by Ekulu77: 4:30pm On Jun 02, 2021
Hello
Please can you buttress more on what you meant by UMI number.also I do have my UCI number because I've already applied and no form generated because while I was booking and paying at q life no documents or questionnaire asked if I was doing upfront medical or if I got a medical request
Please can anyone tell me what documents to take when going for my upfront medical at qlife ( I booked for medical after my application)
Thank you
ray007bu:

I don’t think you need your UCI number if it’s upfront medicals. Your international passport is very important (you would also be given a UMI number and a document that you’ll upload along with your application.)

I did my upfront medicals before submitting my application. There’s also a form that’s generated once you select upfront medicals on your application (you also need to go with that)

i recently got admission into university of Windsor as well as University of Regina. i have kids but they will join me later. Which of the 2 schools do you think is better in terms of cost, job prospects, raising kids and weather. Tuition is cheaper in University of Regina though!
Thanks

That is all you need according to the list of documents sent to you by mail. And you were told to include medical request letter if you have. Also, your ATM card in case if extra charges occur.

Congratulationssss so happy for you. Please stay fervent in prayers and fasting still! He that has began a good work will perfect it. Stay favoured!

ToluDstar:
Thanks to everyone for the congratulatory messages, I truly appreciate y’all!! The wait wasn’t easy but we thank God for his faithfulness! I got the two emails during prayers this morning! Please never doubt God cause at some point, I began to have some doubts. Only this morning when I woke up did I regain some faith again, just before I got my PPR.
This is such a wonderful birthday gift as my birthday is later this month and God just perfected everything!

LONG POST ALERT!!
My journey (Omo my talk fit plenty small)
I started this journey around May 2020. I wanted to go for a Masters in Accounting and finance at the University of Toronto which was what delayed me till this point. They needed a special CPA assessment for international students which included a WES ICAP evaluation. I paid for all and I carried out the assessment. The assessment was to only to know whether you are qualified to apply based on your degree/transcript. Due to our failed educational system in Nigeria, I couldn’t get course outlines for each course I did from 100L to 400L from my school which the U of T required for the assessment thereby making me unable to apply. This whole period took about 3/4 months before I knew I couldn’t even apply to start with. I went on to apply to Simon Fraser and University of Windsor. Simon Fraser answered me fast but their fees are over $50k plus they needed GMAT for me to gain admission. They sent mails every month for a while asking for my GMAT score in other to gain admission. I didn’t have the time to take GMAT because I was preparing for my ACCA exams and besides, the fees were outrageous so I just ignored Simon Fraser as well. Windsor was my bus stop. I applied and it took about 3 months before they gave me my admission for Winter 2021. I had to defer till summer/spring due to the unavailability of time to prepare documents for study permit.
As at December 2020, all my documents were ready except medicals and IELTS. I booked dates for medicals and IELTS for January 2021. I did both of them and got results sharply. Due to some issues, I had to wait until February before I submitted my full application with my NSE documents. I got an application confirmation on that day and another update a day after. I didn’t do biometrics because I had applied for a visiting visa in the past so IRCC applied the same biometrics to my application.
Omo the wait was long! I got a fantastic job offer during this period o and the confusion began; whether or not to forget everything about traveling and commit to working at a top investment bank for two years. I said in my mind my God doesn’t do unfinished business. I even had to start my first semester here from Nigeria and it was a bit tough but God did it. God doesn’t do half work. I kept on refreshing my mail for dayssssssss without updates. Finally, June 2, 2021 during NLP prayers, I got two updates successively. Mind you, powerful fasting and prayers had been going on personally during this period o. I am even currently fasting! Finally oooo my people, I got PPR. My application wasn’t perfect as there were lump sums left unexplained in my sponsor’s statements but God was faithful! To show you how God works and to give hope to some people, we transferred some funds to my Dad’s statements just a day or two before we did the mbs for the two accounts, although the account have solid history and they are quite buoyant.

Before I forget, about a month or two ago, I contacted the parliament members in Windsor and they really helped as they contacted ircc on my behalf and also sent their correspondence to me. That was how I knew my application was being handled in Nairobi. For about 10 days now, I had sent emails and webforms to Nairobi informing them that I already commenced classes and I pleaded with them to speed up my application process. I also ordered my GCMS notes on May 17 but I guess I won’t be needing that anymore lol. All in all, I received the favour of God guys.
Thanks to all the gurus in the house for always responding to all our questions and concerns (Justmellow, Frankrobbn, Lekkiboboe) and everybody else, may God continue to uplift you guys.
@Teenie19 and marcelonwa, I dey wait for una PPRs too plus everybody else waiting for PPR, God will favour us all by his Grace.

I no dey commot this thread sha as you guys helped a whole lot, we gather dey!

TIMELINE:
Application submission: February 4, 2021.
Application in process: February 5, 2021.
I don remember when exactly my eligibility review started/when my medicals turned to passed.
Didn’t get NSE request as I submitted all documents upfront.
Contacted Kusmierczyk Irek, a member of parliament on April 13, 2021. Got a reply that same day and was told to fill some forms. They didn’t get back to me until May 4, when they sent the correspondence with the visa office in Nairobi. This reply was quite detailed and different from the usual generic replies we always get.
I started sending emails and webforms to Nairobi from May 17, 2021 (the same day I ordered for my GCMS notes). I got some generic responses about my application being under active review and all of that but I didn’t stop sending webforms.

BVL: June 2, 2021; 7:28am
PPR: June 2, 2021; 7:32am

Goodluck to everyone waiting for PPR once again and to those that were delayed, please do not give up as God will definitely crown your efforts with success.

Cheers.

Thank you so much for taking out time to respond. All noted. God bless you

Frankrobbn1:

Given that you've already applied for your study visa, I will suggest you should be patient until your application receives a positive consideration from IRCC. Your two boys aged 7 and 9 respectively will apply for open study permit, and this has to be done when you've successfully arrived Canada and have obtained the relevant documents in support of your active immigration status in Canada. It is definitely a difficult decision to make, albeit you've to endure so that you can achieve the prime purpose of relocating to Canada with your entire family.

It will end in praise

They are 3, 7 and 10 years old respectively.
2 years program I was already completing first semester when I got mine approved because I started online class with AIP.
Immediately after picking up my passport.
I applied for authorization for travel exemption. This speeds up the process.
I hope that helps

How long does it take to hear from IRCC after submitting application? I have already done biometric on January and I am applying for the 2nd time?

Waoh Waoh big congrats ToluDstar, really I can imagine how you feel now, feeling so satisfied. Very happy for you. Plus you did a very detailed and thorough job and left nothing untouched. Nice work boss.

I applied (family application-wife & daughter) since February 5 and got NSE request March 11, replied same day (even though FBN didn't know what MBS meant at that time, so I attached LOE with current statement with MBS for other Banks).

Even though its a family application, which is not usually encouraged, I strongly have faith and believe I ticked the right boxes in terms of POF and Socio economic ties (very decent paying job with approved study leave) and other considerations like career progression as I am going for MBA at UCW (Have been in Management position for 8 years now as Business Dev. Manager - B.Eng and Msc (UK) in Petroleum Engineering) and rich/extensive travel history and most importantly God's breakthroughs and favors in the sight of VOs/SVOs

Also noticed IRCC are finalizing applications submitted Feb 14 - 20, so it means they are done with most Jan 31- Feb 5. Somehow I feel if they wanted to deny, they would have done so. Anyways after waiting this long, I have just booked upfront medical and going ahead to order GCMS.

Imagine, if we didnt have this forum, where I now look forward to coming to everyday, the wait would have been more torturing oh, kai. So really a very big thanks to you all that contribute and share experiences and testimonies and especially the Gurus(Frankroobn, lekkeboeboe, justmellow and company). Always looking forward to your seasoned and professional advises. God bless you all big.

Meanwhile am hailing my fellow UCW folks oh, johnpaul, lianna2020, base83 and others, by God's Amen we shall all meet.

Cheers mates!!!!

Instead of waiting for medical request, I think new applicant should always try and do upfront medical.
It makes it easier and complete .

Imagine someone waiting for three month for medical request.

I am sharing my timeline to encourage everyone…. I got a lot of Info from Nairaland and I hope this helps at least one person.

I reached out to an agent initially that gave me a bill of 1500 USD, when I converted to Naira, I decided to do my application my self. Thank God for grace and patience.

First time applicant -age 30
Program of study- MBA
School- Rotman school of management - University of Toronto
I got partial scholarship but still needed to show how I will fund the balance and my expenses.

So prior to my study permit application, I had two expired EE application my score was low so I didn’t get ITA. This made me nervous cos it was a proof that I would be looking for PR after my studies and I wasn’t sure if it would affect their decision.

Submitted my application February 19 with Upfront Medicals and my bank statement
Biometric request Feb 20
Biometrics updated to pass Feb 24
Medical updated to pass Feb 26
NSE request for IELTS Feb 25
Submitted IELTS- Mar 27
BVL May 31
PPR June 1

I graduated in 2011, and I have worked in the financial services industry since 2011 from my NYSC posting. I got my Chartered financial analyst (CFA) certification in 2019 so my LOE was focused on saying I needed the MBA for career progression and to take on leadership position. I also spoke about the need for investment analysts to have a global training to prevent mismanaging large funds and negatively affecting the Nigerian capital markets.

I attached pictures of my family members, got a study leave, letter of intro and my payslips from my employer.

For economic ties I used my 75% of my pension, my car and my equity investment. The 25% of my pension I stated I would use it for my funding during my studies. The PFA gave me a letter to support this.

For funding, the first page was a letter explaining all lump sums and where they came from and I stated that it was to show sufficient liquidity.
I included two tables one showing all my expected expenses for two years and all my funding. Then I included a summary table showing both incase there was any confusion that the funding was more than the expense.

My program is for 2 years so I had to show how I intended to finance it for the total duration. I didn’t want to inform any relatives so I had to sponsor my self. I got my admission in October, didn’t apply till February because of funding, I used this time to consolidate my finances and also apply for loans. I applied to Prodigy ( I was rejected) and Mpower( I got approved).

The school had an immigration lawyer that also helped me look through my letters and my forms

Congratulations on your approval, I hope we meet at UofT this Fall.

You are expected to generate an invoice from your school in Canada. The invoice contains many of the information you would be needing to process Form A
