Sorry pls, just a question,
I was simply wondering that since the spouse employment status does not really contribute any significant score, can't this field be left blank? or simply indicate "Not Applicable (NA)" . The stress of the documentation seems worthless considering the fact that spouse's employment status does not add any meaningful point. Is this a compulsory requirement? Can't I just say my spouse sits at home and helps with the kids? undecided
spouse is the PA as she has age on her side. The other spouse which is him does not need work experience evidence.

I was inquiring in a case where the spouse is not the PA e.g Husband (P.A with a formal job) wife (petty trader without all these plenty documentation)

N.B: P.A is Principal Applicant (which could be husband or wife)
Spouse: is any of the two who is not the PA

only spouse experience gained in Canada counts.

its like you want to set up your sitting room. You can buy tv first and buy sofa second. Or buy sofa first and tv second. You need the two to open a profile, which comes first does not matter

Whether or not you include your spouse Nigerian work experience, IRCC will not ask you to provide Proof of work experience for your spouse since you are not claiming points for spouse Canadian work experience.

However, you should include spouse work experience under Personal history in your eAPR. Personal history should show all activities in the last 10 years or since turning 18, and your personal history does not have to match work history.

Read Document requirements under Proof of work experience and the Individuals who must submit this documentation here:

You need both your ECA report and IELTS General result to create an Express entry profile.
Start with your ECA evaluation. It takes about 3 - 4 months for the ECA report to be out and it's valid for 5 years.
You can start practicing for IELTS and write it around the period your ECA report is out.

If you write IELTS now and your ECA report comes out in 6 months time, you would have wasted 6 months, cos IELTS is valid for 2 years

So hubby got his ielts score today and scored LRSW: 8,8.5,8 and 6.5. This finally puts us at 468 sad at this point he can't apply for remark cos he pointed out his mistakes in the writing task 2 and we honestly can't afford to rewrite for now. The rest is left for God to help us grin

Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) HERE: (https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/documents/education-assessed.html )

Complete an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) through one of the designated agencies. Applicants educated outside of Canada should have their certificates assessed to ensure that their foreign education is equivalent to Canadian education.

Look HERE (https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/documents/education-assessed/read-report.html) to understand your report and the the points you can get from your evaluation. You should ONLY evaluate your highest degree e.g. PhD or MSc unless you are claiming two degrees, none of which is a PhD or MSc.

Designated Organisations see HERE (https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=681&top=29)
1. Comparative Education Service (CES) – University of Toronto School of Continuing Studies (CES)
2.International Credential Assessment Service of Canada (ICAS)
3.World Education Services (WES)
4.International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS)
5.International Credential Evaluation Service (ICES)

Designated Professional Bodies
Physicians (NOC 3111 or NOC 3112): If your primary occupation is specialist physician (NOC 3111) or general practitioner/family physician (NOC 3112), the Medical Council of Canada MUST do an ECA for your primary medical diploma.
Pharmacists (NOC 3131): If you need a license to practice, the Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada must do your assessment.

You can ONLY create your profile when you have your language results and ECA, start HERE (https://www.nairaland.com/3999848/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled#59641006)

Good day house, those who had written IELTS computer based test, during listening test, do you type as you listen or write on paper, then you have time to type in the answers. Pls help

YES
Though I have not taken the computer based test, but info from ielts tutors say you type as you listen and you are given only 2 minutes to look through your answers for spelling checks. So you have to be good at typing to take the computer based test.

I’ll advice you apply for a re-mark it will greatly add to your point. I got same score in writing and even though I didn’t write the specified number of words in task 2, I applied for a re-mark and was upgraded. My points grew muscle from 414 to 472 and in your case might be 480+

That's the score for accompanying spouse, if upgraded it would add just 2 points which will make it 470

Oh okay.
When I applied for remarks, Writing increased by 0.5. You never can tell though.

468 is a good score but with the current CRS score distribution in the pool, the number of candidates with CRS score 471 and above is 14,692 (as at May 25th).

That means there will be at least 3 FSW draws of 5000 each before it falls below 471. And our brothers in Delhi keep entering the pool daily.

You get the point now?!

What ever you can do to increase your score...

You can leave it blank. Many people don't put the spouse's work history pre ITA so that they don't have to run around getting documents to prove it post ITA.

After ITA, you can just put his work experience in personal history and no documents will be required to prove anything.

Done it like that. Thanks

Email me please.

Tipzey:
Hi everyone, pls I need an advice as to who should be the primary applicant.

Wife is 28yrs and hubby is 36yrs

Wife is a lawyer.. currently evaluating with iqas and husband has 2 or more certificates evaluating with Wes

Wife is practicing on her own on a part time basis..also volunteering with an NGO. She also joins the family business which is registered but without pay.

Husband is self employed..in the family business..IT, printing and computer related. Has over 5 yrs work experience in IT, printing and computer.

Simulated CRS score if the wife is the principal applicant with the hubby evaluating his results only is 463 but with him taking IELTS with the evaluation is 481

If the hubby is the principal applicant the score is 376, but he has a good work experience with proof.

Question is who should be the principal applicant? Would the wife's part time and unpaid work experience not have effect when registering for the EE profile?

I've gone through various threads but I need answers that are peculiar to this situation. Thanks in advance.

Please has anyone in the house travelled through the USA into Canada? I mean applying for a valid US visa and then making you landing in Canada?
GraciousWords:

If you have a US visa, or can apply for one before your COPR expires, read here:

https://www.nairaland.com/6081746/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled/494#100176625

Find out if you can travel to Canada - Foreign national without symptoms - U.S. entry - Approved permanent resident not yet in Canada
You indicated that you are:

*a foreign national
*not showing signs and symptoms consistent with COVID-19
*coming from the United States
*an approved permanent resident not yet in Canada

Based on your answers, you will likely be allowed to enter Canada; however, the final determination will be made by a government official at the port of entry.

You must be coming to Canada to settle permanently.

This answer does not guarantee entry into Canada.
Final determination regarding entry and quarantine is made by a government representative at the port of entry based on the information presented to them at the time of entry into Canada.
