That’s the sad part… Twitter created the jobs they hesitated to even N power may not have the reach to provide for all. 3 years ahead but I can’t say too much for you to anticipate the future you must read about the past

if U are on VPN how can they trace ur Ip when it is variable
Plus U guys 4get twitter does not originate from here

If you are using VPN they can't flag you or rather the flagging won't work. VPN accepts all ips including blacklisted once.
Thats why people are suggesting it be used.

It will affect Nigeria more in the long run where will they make their announcements. Where will they get world leading information from? How will businesses keep their clients informed? How will your banks inform you of service blackouts and respond to your needs …

Lmao Twitter’s office is not even in Nigeria lol and Thank God because by now dem for close am.

The only people it will affect are the people who don’t anticipate and make moves ahead of them I’m talking 3 years ahead

Lmao... Really! Nigeria don't need Twitter in anyway... Other social media will replace them quickly...

First, it will affect the number of active users in this part of the world. Remember Nigerian users are way more than other w.african countries combine...

Which will in turn affect their ability to place targeted ads in this region losing customers from all over...

Which will in turn affect their ability to compete with others who have access to this market

Which will in turn affect their stocks....

You will see... they would appeal if they have any sense...

Lol every single business that is in Nigeria is visible when on Twitter. A whole bank with zero interaction to tweet will show you that Nigeria will lose more. No more fake trend sha lmao no more paid advertising for music to trend o … Nigerians will lose more.

My business is not hosted in Nigeria. My music is not distributed in Nigeria the only thing Nigerian about me and my companies is me. Global mind that’s what schooling abroad gives you

That was my own way of dismissing me from that conversation!
Yea, I believe it is better we dismiss it. You are having your conversation in real time by just doing a lazy Google search and picking the first article that is in line with your biases.

India went from 200 million active users to a mere 20 million, is that normal? Show me an article that shows that those people could access it by just using VPN. And you went ahead to mention Thailand, what's my business with Thailand.

The discussion is simple, VPN is not some almighty saviour to the citizens of any country that really want to ban an app. 90% reduction is no joke.

Why do you think everybody is speaking up if VPN is all.

You are able to browse nairaland because of your service provider ( mtn, glo ).
This companies are registered under the government, if FG decides to ban nairaland they simply instructe 'this providers' to flag your ip whenever you try to log on nairaland and block you from doing so. I think.
Thats why everyone needs a VPN to change their IPs. Many here are constantly on VPN.

If you don’t know something then learn.
VPN Is bypass for many internet blocking.

90% reduction are due to not being able to
VPN are additional cost and payment are monthly.
Free vpn don’t place additional protection on sensitive data
Many user lack the know how to configure a VPN
Some VPN obey the laws of the Goverment and band access to a platform.

The provider is not going to flag your IP, your IP is essentially the provider’s IP that they are leasing to you to use temporary....they will flag or ban Nairaland or in this case Twitter’s IP address.

I even doubt if this is going to work, because if Twitter wants, they can defeat that ban by floating multiple IP addresses, including IPv6 addresses to DNS resolvers.

This will make the providers to be playing catch-up game of determining new IP addresses and adding them to their ban list.

Use a VPN problem solved. There are many free VPNs in the appstore and playstore and they will work just fine. Twitter isn't restricting IP addresses, so even blacklisted IPs will work 100%. The ban is usless because of VPN just as the ban on cryptocurrency is usless because of peer to peer. Nigerian government are not smart at all.
can you help with some free VPN apps.

What Does Future Holds for Twitter Influencers in Nigeria, if Twitter ban is upheld by Federal Government?

Some Influencers can use VPN, but not majority of their followers have that luxury.

They migrate to becoming facebook, whatsapp, telegram and instagram influencers.
