Nigerians are about 200 Million people, and twitterNG has just about 2 million people, so you don't expect a president who swore to protect the corporate existence of Nigeria, to allow a platform that clearly supports the balkanization of the country to remain in operation..

IPOB has been designated a terrorists organisation by the FG and also pronounced by different courts of law in Nigeria, why twitter still give them audience and it's platform to threaten harm to the residents of the country?

Can twitter do that in America, or Europe?
Why can't they respect the laws of the country they operate in?

Twitter must respect the sovereign integrity of nations wherein they operate.

If a government had designated a group as a terrorist group, Twitter has no justification to allow such groups to propagate their rhetoric via their platform.

Respect Africa!

Good-bye Twitter..

Exactly! Paltry 2million users which is just 1% of our population.

I'm sure more than 70% of Buhari's supporters don't use social media talk more of Twitter. That's why the opposition are in severe pains cus one of their vehicles have been punctured.

Kudos for your good analysis .
If Twitter feels Buhari post violated their policy then, why Twitter doesn't care to ban IPOB Twitter handle as well.

For me am very happy for that . If other countries emulate Buhari to ban twitter as well, Twitter will learn how to pay attention to other people policy as well .

It’s the colonial messiah complex that’s emboldening them. They don’t believe other countries have the right to designate a group as a terrorist group. Only their country can sit in Washington & designate a group in another country as a terrorist group.

Aptly said!!! Twitter should have been ban like two years ago because of their recklessness. You deleted a tweet of a sitting president cautioning those arsonists and you directly/indirectly promote tweets of terrorists(ipob).

The question should be what is government doing your twitter Buhari should have passed his genocidal message on NTA, as far twitter is concerned they have the right to delete a genocidal message from a sitting president that's does not care about a particular section of the country.....

What is the government doing on twitter Also maybe you should cry to Buhari to ban Facebook too for deleting the crappy genocidal message he posted on Facebook....

There is NTA there for Buhari to use and Twitter reserves the right to delete or ban any account as they deem fit....

I guess Rwandan president should have used twitter to threaten the Tutsi ethnic group with genocide simply because there are rebels in that country who are Tutsi....

Most you will just come here with 10mb and start posting crap without critical reasoning....

Only a fool will think that the Fulani lead federal government banned Twitter because they deleted buharis tweet...

The truth is that the Fulani government of Nigeria (FGN) harbours hatred for Twitter since the endsars protest because of the role Twitter played in organizing and sustaining that protest..

But zombies have already started blaming and calling ipob..

Twitter blocked Trump the US president then so what are you yapping about..

You Fulani lead FG should also cut ties with other world countries that refused to recognize ipob as a terror group..

Currently ipob is legitimately registered in more than 100 countries of the world including USA..

Your idiotic federal government should cut all ties with those countries..

Zombie!!!

Like I said yesterday, we are watching big techs become a monster without knowing it. Government should regulate private companies and not the other way round.

If some of you can’t see the danger in allowing a foreign tech company the powers to censor the speech of an elected president at will, then there really is a problem. Funny enough, the same platform has been doing everything to promote a terrorist organization that intends to disintegrate Nigeria.

This is not about Buhari but about the corporate existence of Nigeria. I don’t support the ban but I’m also against the censorship of the speech of the president. National governments should never be allowed to be at the mercy of foreign tech companies.

Thank you my brother...one doesn't need to like Buhari, to see the danger this tech companies have in stock for the well being of countries. Who is Jack to censure what Buhari posts on social media, just he belongs to him?

Personally, I expressed my concerns over allowing Twitter such powers. It is an aberration. China has completely banned Twitter. India is about to follow suit. Gradually, world leaders will come together and put these tech companies where they belong. It is just a matter of time.
