Revolva:Bros,am not one of those Igbos that like interchanges but if I were to do business outside Igboland the first people I will choose will be Akwaiboms,Igalas(my humble father had a very memorable relationship when he lived there and my father also speaks fluent Igala),Idomas and the Tivs. . .It might surprise some ppl that we have large amount of Tivs that settled in Anambra, especially the northside. My point is that we have a good relashionship with these groups and I will always call them my brothers. If the are giving out free lands to Igbos I will advice they(Igbos) should make sure that the c of o comes with it or better still pay some money. . .good luck! |

With Igbos' love for trading and property acquisition, the Igala lands will soon become a commercial hub. Great thinking by the Igalas. |

The world knows that it is only the Igbos who are the most stupid tribe in the world. Go to Igbo Land, you see a lot of underdevelopment. That is why other ethnic tribes in Nigeria takes us for granted. We keep on developing other areas while neglecting our own area. When the war begins we are the first to cray wolf. A lesson is enough for the wise |

Kudos to the igala people, though the facts remain that ''someone that had been stung by bee dreads flies'' and should not be blamed for that. And I tell ya, I'd rather spend billions buying land in USA than to take any free of charge from any state in Nigeria, outside my town or Village. ofcourse would take from any state in Igbo land but must be backed up with papers. |

Igwe.:They are calling the Igbos to come develop the lands not keep it as their own. Kudos for what? Open your eyes. |

I'm sure our Igala brothers/sisters would count the number of those who applied emotions in their comments here due to some very unfortunate experiences in the past and on going in the nation, then compare the population of the igbo nation and they will see that those who see it as not so good idear will surely see it as a welcome development once they sit down and drink some cool water. Given the fact that igalas have always been a part of us and us a part of them,we have been living with our igala brothers/sisters in igboland without discrimination or war or even knowing who is igala or igbo, and our igala brothers in anambra have equally contribute to the development in anambra and nigeria as well, think about men like the legendary emma and his late brother patrick okala and many more who served alaigbo with all their strength, and the igalas are very hard working so anyone who thinks or says orderwise should please think again or perhaps he/she does not know the real igalas, only fake internet igalas just like the fake internet igbos lol! Also the gesture is encouraging, but like someone suggested let there be some sort of agreement just for reference. FINALLY A MASSIVE DALU (THANK YOU) TO THE ATTAH OF IGALA THIS GESTURE MEANS ALOT AND WILL GO DOWN TO HISTORY. |

See guys,if you trace the ancestry of Igbo's and Igala's,we are from thesame ancestors. We descended from Anambra state and some part of Enugu.Check out our cultural background, they are almost thesame with little or no alterations.Igala's giving Igbo's land shouldn't be a thing to worry about at all.I want to ask Nigerians that if Nigeria should divide to what part would Kogi belong to?My own analysis is that,Igala belongs to Igbo,Ebira to the hausa's and Okun people to the Yoruba's.Up Ndigbo Up Igala Uyi Iredia: |

I love the Igala people. My Grandmother and my mom both speak flawless Igala. Though my Grandmother is from Awka, she was born and raised among the Igalas. She regards the Igala homeland as her second home and in her later days, always dreamt of going back there to mingle with the people once again. I would never regard the Igalas and Idomas as enemies, even if they were to put a knife to my throat. We have well enough history together to see ourselves as enemies. So to my fellow Igbos, when you speak ill and make jest of other people who are closely related to us Igbos, be careful what you say and be respectful because this is a public forum and through the words of our mouth, they make get a wrong impression on how we think about and perceive them. An offer is made, which i believe is in earnest, but if your are not interested in it, politely reject it and do not ridicule the people based on what you believe their innermost intentions may be. |

| Re: Igala Offers Igbo Free Land To Develop by Nobody: 8:58pm On Feb 21, 2012 |
Chyz*:My brother i highly understand your logic and the skepticism of many here but we should not forget that the middle belt was largely divided during the onslaught of the enemies on Igboland. The large middle belt groups that participated in the genocide attempt were those like the Tivs and Beroms. The Igalas and Idomas were reluctant. We ought not forget too that most of these reluctant tribes were standing before the devil and the deep sea, they either joined Nigeria in their onslaught or face extinction since most of them were really small tribes that couldn't withstand Nigeria if they had tried. Of course, no one is saying Igbos should trust anyone in this hell hole ever again but the Igalas can never be a threat to Igbos and we cannot just blindside our history with them neither since they are one of our closest neighbours. |

I don't believe this offer is meant to ridicle the Igbos, they are probably putting on their thinking cap. The only thing I will suggest is for a certain monetary price to be paid on the said land with a concrete agreement signed. The Igalas have been part of Igboland for decades and as earlier said the Headquarters of Anambra-West LGA (though in the Northern part of the state) is in Nzam which is an Igala town. |

Chyz*:Why should I open my opened eyes? ![]() I will pretend I didn't find it irritating, therefore irrespective of what we think or how fishy the offer may seem, it's an intelligent move by the igalla peeps and should be upheld but it's left for the interested Igbos to embrace the offer which to me would be suicidal. Btw, why didn't you quote me on the side I advised against it? ![]() |

Please my brother from south east, never take the free land and never thought of taking and selling. Use your resources wisely and use it to benefit offspring by developing your eastern land. We have vast land in east. He who have ear, make he/she hear what the experience has taught us |

| Re: Igala Offers Igbo Free Land To Develop by Piyke: 10:25pm On Feb 21, 2012 |
Its only a non thinking igbo man that would accept or pay for this offer with the current situation in the country. U better invest your hard earned cash closer to home. Such free gifts are at the heart of many land disputes in Naija. Go ask Izii and ezilo people in ebonyi state, or the hausa and jos people. How many houses do you know in the east that are owned by northerners, not many I would imagine. I hate to think that I'm taking this line of thought in 'our one Nigeria' but its the current obvious division along ethnic lines that makes me think so. Its better to pay more in a place where you're sure of your future than in a place they can tell you to vamoose tomorrow. A word is enough for the wise. |
